- The Lallantop presents Zamini Haqiqat. A 10 episode series on 10 big ticket schemes of Modi government. In this episode we are checking the ground reality of Smart City Mission. An initiative taken to make 100 cities of the country smart. A key poll promise of Modi Government. This was launched way back in June 25, 2015 by prime Minister Narendra Modi and then Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation. Nor Hardeep Singh Puri is the minister In-charge. He is a Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh. To check the ground reality we chose Agra. Here are our findings.

I was part of this e-governance project, involved in many meetings with different MNCs and government officials. They all are working day and night to fight challenges on the ground. There are lot of things in this project. Its very complex project, I was involved in those brain storming late night sessions to find a technology based solution to replace traditional government process.

More and more Indian cities are getting metro rail projects and good roads. So, off course infrastructure and transportation is improving. Plus there will be suburban metro facilities which will connect nearby suburbs as well as some districts.
Agra has a very bright future, being closer to Delhi.
While cities like Nagpur are going to be negativities of tomorrow.
Vision is so good and really required .

Smart city concept is very nice. These projects are for welfare of that city or citizen of the area. These are infrastructural project, which always takes longer time. Take example of Narmada Dam, it took more than 30 years to complete. Such situation is well expected. As the project executions is done by various departments of state and centre. Lots of Co - ordination is required. That is some time time-consuming.
This can not be considered as failure of Modi Govt. I request to the media to highlight those points where opposition has created hindrances in such projects. Just to prove wrong Mr Modi, they are creating problem to the citizen of the country. That is wrong.

Whilst the works may take longer, we can at least see some tangible development works under progress. Albeit the administration need to pull up their soxes on 'smart' execution of works. In the same breath, its evident that it would take some time to complete works on a such a large scale taking into consideration the NOC and permit hurdles. Kudos to BJP for such under progress works👏👏
One has to say that at the time of Congress, it was hard to find any traces of works underway for which the execution was limited to budget spending. If there is no work, there is no room to find faults with the execution, reason why Congress didn't face criticism.."No work - No Criticism".
