    Hi, to anyone watching this video and those that plan to do this simple maintenance, WATCH, At 2:40 theres a very small shinny washer washer between the frame and the line lever cover.. I did not see one in the video...But trust me its there, I spend hours trying to figure out where it went, Lucky for me i had another metanium that i could use as a Reff point to figure it out

      Not all identical reels have same number of washers.

    Never cleaned or lubed the bearings...did I miss that

    • @DGxxxK1

      do not lube closed bearings, because it will be louder. Just the two high speed spool bearings need a drop of oil...

    It’s crazy that my 180$ 13 fishing concept C looks identical under the cover. Except my C has like 3 or 4 drag plates and twice the drag force! And double the price for the Mgl. Just got a Mgl in the mail today to see what all the fuss has been about.

      Guaranteed that concept c drag want last. The breaking is trash on 13 reels and have notorious issues. Props to 13 being a newer company that is trying new things. But if you want a nice reel that works for a life time, buy shimano.

      Ekmanjohnny don’t use that much grease on drag washers and bottom of gear plate. Put on gear teeth and dab some on fingers and pinch/spread on drag washers. Too much will cause lots of slipping.

      hi, it is one of the quietest, finest running reel on the market. If there’s a sound to it, there’s something serious wrong there. The drive gear is worn, the lubricant is washed out of the bearings, it may have corroded due to salt water, or it was simply used too roughly.

    lol you didn oil half if the bearings.

    • @DGxxxK1
      @DGxxxK1  3 роки тому

      Never oil a closed bearing because it loses its silence forever. Use the closed bearing as long as possible and then replace it. Only lubricate high speed spool bearings.

    • @elonmust7470
      @elonmust7470 3 роки тому +1

      @@DGxxxK1 Nonsense... none of the bearings in these reels are sealed. They all accept oil.

    • @DGxxxK1
      @DGxxxK1  3 роки тому

      @@elonmust7470 Each bearing is a sealed bearing. Even the two spool bearings, anyway. We have decades of experience on the subject, but if you think you’re right, just oil it, we still won’t because we love quiet, delicately working reels.

      @DGxxxK1  5 років тому

      @@austingomez4658 ok ok. We use this reels in EU, with very thin lines, not only for bass fishing. We need a smooth, slip drag when fight fish. Dry and non slippery drag cause rod break or line break. I hope you understand (and may english too, i use google translate..)

    • @caseydangar1193

      Yea im not a professional by any means but ive never seen anyone use that much grease on their drag stack. Normally its smear alittle with your finger and then blot over it with a rag to remove any excess. Ive always been told less is more. And it just gunks it up when you add to much. Again, not a professional but ive fished my whole life and never saw it done like that. Not even in any of the countless videos on UA-cam, including shimanos own how to video. Also shimano say to keep spool shift dry and adding oil there only slows the reel down. The tolerances are so tight that its meant to run dry only.
