    I'm finally back and I'm making a beat using only 3x OSC in FL Studio 12. I actually really like this synth and it was probably my most used plugin back when I made music using FL Studio.

      It's really not. Like when he first started off he kept saying how bad it sounded when really it had an insane amount of potential. Yeah it's harder to make stuff like cool riddim basses and what not in 3x but for your basic synths and such you could make an entire track easily.

    Great example of how it isn't the fancy VSTs and other expensive third party plugins that make a track good. It's experience and knowledge and how you apply it.
    Reminds me of something Bitbird would release. Very awesome.

      I have to disagree a bit. You can of course make nice stuff with stock or free plugins, but the popular and fancy third party VSTs are popular for a reason. Many of them provide a much quicker workflow and there are usually lots of presets out for them. The stock synths in FL are not bad but they are a lot more complicated, which is bad for people with concentration issues (like me). I've used Sylenth1 as my main synth for a good while because it's so damn easy to use. I use Spire a lot too now these days because it's even faster than Sylenth1. And for me fast workflow is important, which FL Studio stock plugins fails to provide (and most of the presets sucks) imo.

      Vsts are there to expand what your daw can do and give you better workflow in. Fancy vsts make better music. Fl studio doesnt have lot of mastering tools so I need buy vsts to get those.

    • @SpaceEmperorGenos
      @SpaceEmperorGenos 2 роки тому

      Half right, half wrong there. Good VSTs and kits are 50% of what makes your track good. When you have total manipulation over instruments, that's well and good, but it's different when it comes to your drums. If they don't sound good, there's not much you can really do, not even EQ can save bad drums.

    • @Quimmoo
      @Quimmoo Рік тому

      @@SpaceEmperorGenos you can actually go and sound design your own drums. And the main purpose of mixing is to make one sound be like the other. So you can do whatever you want with EQ and Compression to fix the sound you don't like. It just takes time to learn how to do this.

    For all you young 'uns out there, this is how we used to make music in the olden days. Except it was with hardware rather than software. Modular synths have had a resurgence lately, and the FL 3xOsc is the exact same principle. You start with a tone generator, modify that tone, layer it with 1-2 others then push it through different filters.
    You can make any sound that old MIDI-based systems run using only the 3xOsc and some filters. And that means you can make any digital instrument that was used from about 2003 and before.

      I don't think any person from SA would speak this fluently and with this accent. I have no idea where would it be tho.

    You only need one oscillator, a filter and ADSR at most, which could give you analog drum machine sounds. OSC X is actually the cut-off frequency and OSC Y is the resonance of the filter.
