Was a mistake from second they drafted him. Owner wanted a clone of Eli and thought Jones was Eli 2.0. Yes Jones has the same great character and class of Eli. But problem is he don’t have the skills to play in the NFL and never improve over 6 years.
So let me get this straight. All this time, shows like this have criticized the Giants for drafting and extending Jones (rightfully so), now the Giants get rid of him and then the shows say stuff like, they mishandled him, he was in a bad situation (which he was, but good or bad the expectation to perform is there and in a situation such as the Giants the bar is set high) but regardless of that now the media criticizes the Giants and blames the organization for cutting him instead of keeping him (which is what they criticized in the first place). Seems a bit hypocritical doesn't it.

Media always has something to say about the giants always bad even when they make the right decisions. Team wasn't set up to help jones and they honestly could have kept barkely along with jones Gm did bad with that and the year after the playoffs you chose to stand pat with o line and still not improve or try to get better weapons besides a often injured Darren Waller at TE

I’m glad Jones got out of there alive! Playing behind that O-Line (2nd worst in NFL history) was hazardous to his health - neck injury, torn ACL and even in his last interview he had a massive gash on his forehead!

The players know and knew this was going to happen. They are right about Jones was the best quarterback they had because the other two are trash. But it’s the right decision to move on from Jones he was wrong for this coaching staff.

They mishandled both. They never gave him confidence about him coming back from the injury. They made the world know they were trying to move up and to insult the dude more you make a guest appearance on another teams hard knocks to thrash your qb again.
