- "Come Thou, Sweet Death" is a melody (Komm, süsser Tod) from Bach's BWV 478. I'm not sure where the text for the second verse comes from, but the first verse is a translation of the original German. The conductor in this recording is Stephen Schmall, and the organist is Robert Vickery. Recorded at the Good Friday service on April 9, 2004.
There is no questioning Bach’s genius!! In some ways this piece is one of those where Bach is at his best, bringing to light certain aspects of human life in which everyone has to go through. In this case , dying.
