You realize as you kick off your wellies that your timing is perfect: the fire is roaring in the grate, with the tea tray all set up in front of it. Your cat sits mildly on the sofa, patiently waiting for you to come and give her a chin rub or two. The room is warmly lit by softly flickering candlelight. You snuggle down into your favorite seat, surrounded by fluffy pillows and soft blankets. The only thing that could make this moment better? A crumpet, perhaps, with butter...*

I love how you start us outside with the footsteps and rubbing our boots on the mat, and coming inside. It really sets the scene! Sighhhhh. This is bliss. The colours and layout are cozy and comforting. Steaming tea and a sleeping cat speak to my soul! All I need is my book. Thank you for all of the work you put into these to make them so evocative. It's like stepping into a sanctuary. A dream.

Awesome cozy cottage. I love it. I especially love the pets sleeping as if waiting for me to come home from work. This is perfect in every way. No thunder or lightning. It always freightened my pets. Just soft rain. I can always smell the rain just listening to this soft rainfall. Just imagine how green the grass and trees will be in the morning.

I sort of viewed this scene as somewhere between early spring and summer. I didn't want it to feel too specific so that you could watch for longer during the year.
@@CalmedByNature it's delightfully cozy! I think the best part about your rain & cozy Ambiance videos are that we never quite know what season it is beyond those windows. So we can imagine a peaceful spring evening, a summer thunderstorm, or a chilly fall night as the leaves begin to turn.
Anyway we look at it, however it speaks to us, we're always grateful that you make them.

Wanted to hop on here and say how I absolutely love the visual look of it being so real! Even down to the steam from the hot cup of coffee the way it moves and it’s not the same repeating steam movement. It has so much detail to ever nook and cranny that it’s all so real and no matter what is going on in real life you can soak into this scene and put yourself in it. It’s therapeutic! It’s blissful and love the intro!!

I love your videos the little personal touches like the windows , artwork Flickering candles , a cat, and lighting set your vids apart from all the other hastily drawn ones that just add rain sound. It helps me to fall asleep and calm anxieties
Thanks! I really have a lot for making these and I try to make them as best I can. To be totally honest most of the other channels making these videos are either created with artificial intelligence or created with 3d software and involve little to no hand drawn elements.

Simple living at its finest. Comfortable furniture, a nice warm fireplace, and nice cup of coffee after dinner to relax with when the day is over. It reminds me of Grandpa and Grandma's home when people seemed to be a lot less stressed than they are today ........sigh. My how times have changed. The image is absolutely lovely and brings back so many memories. This is a home, not a house. Today's so called "homes" look more like ostentatious statements of supposed success. This is a beautiful cosy and intimate family lounge room. Sometimes I wonder if we would do better in life by downsizing and keeping it real.
Anyway these are just my sentiments , because I love this. A big thank you to "Calmed By Nature" , whose work is truly thoughtful, and very mood evoking .

currently have absolutely horrible insomnia but i always find myself coming back to this video, it is so comforting as i grew up loving the sound of rain and you always seem to get it just perfect, and the scenery just makes it 10 times more better:).. being a 15 year old in college is tought as specially when i cant sleep at night its very tiring but this video instantly sends me to sleep, thank you❤

Yes, this is the place. I have just started using these types of vids to help me stay asleep. The world you have created assuredly stands out, for all of the reasons others have already stated, but also your audio is flawless and without those pesky "jarring" points (I don't know how else to describe them, lol).
I would add that not only did I stay asleep past the two hour mark (my trouble spot) I slept right on through past the time I typically wake up (only with a coupla "wake up,nod back off" moments). Highly recommend and Thank You!!
