  • Last week we met up with the guys working at “Hallaryds Skogsservice AB”, a logging company based in Southern Sweden to install yet another Log Max head on a John Deere harvester. This time it’s one of our favorite larger heads the 7000C which is coupled to John Deere’s biggest wheeled harvester the 1470G. The company also owns another Log Max 7000C mounted to an Eco Log 590E and loves the fact that the head has so little downtime.
Our technicians spent two days* on-site to install the interface and wiring which allows the head to run using the original TimberMatic control system. A pretty straightforward installation that can easily be reverted if needed. (*one day when all parts are there! ;-)
The harvester is equipped with the CH9 boom which is able to handle the 7000C at 10 meters out (33 feet). The 7000C is a powerful yet smooth final cut harvesting head equipped with a Hultdins SuperCut saw unit. A key feature of the 7000C is the variable displacement feed roller motors. The feed force and the speed of the feeding unit are automatically adjusted depending on the size of the trees, fast speed in smaller wood, and more power in tougher limbed trees. The automatically adapted power distribution provides a comfortable driving experience with minimised fuel consumption. Many of our 7000C customers just love this model and would never think anything else.
