That XN20 seems to go really well and looks quite smooth to operate. Obviously helped by being in the hands of someone who operates it well. I've had a bit of a look at your other videos and come to the conclusion that this size seems to be the perfect compromise for people who do work on their own rural properties, you certainly make it look effective at doing jobs that might usually be the domain of a bigger unit. In many ways I wish I'd got an XN20/XU20 instead of my UME12S (though it wasn't in my budget at the time and would have meant buying a bigger trailer). Oh, and PS, thank you so much for not doing that sped up motion thing that so many excavator video posters do, seeing it work in real time is the only way we viewers get a gauge on how well a digger handles its work.
Thank you Dave, your comments are very encouraging. I think you are right, this size machine is good for what I do. Sometimes it would be nice to have a bigger unit but that would require more outlay, plus a heavier duty trailer and a bigger vehicle to tow it. As I'm mainly doing my own work at my place I couldn't justify the extra expense, I was pushing the budget as it was to get what I've got. When I was looking at getting my own machine I checked out UA-cam to see what the options were but it was really hard to find 1 or 2 tonne machines doing real work in real time. That's the main reason I've been posting these videos and why you'll never see my videos sped up. I realize I'm never going to get a huge audience but hopefully these videos are helpful to folks wanting to see what these machine can do. Cheers.
Yes I agree about the real time speed of the video. So annoying to watch a sped up video of operation in conjunction with some really annoying music attached. This is a great video and my thoughts are exactly as yours. I am very seriously thinking of picking up the 12p UHI here in Canada but watching these video's from dinomite diggers has got me thinking of moving up to the 20 model. It appears to be a better balance of size, smoothness and versatility.
@@chaleurphantom1 Totally right about the twenty being a better fit, plus, if you don't already have a decent amount of hours on diggers then you'll find learning on the 20 model to be a lot easier than the 12P.
hi, l get it some think like back blade it like you and then fix a 10ft 2x10 board on my blade makes a lovely job and then give it a good track in. keep up the good work like the vids. adrian
You did a great job there. It might have been easier with a skid loader but at the end of the day you use what you have, and the result is fine. I reckon the home owner would be very happy for your help.
I did a job similar and it was so long and tedious with my mini ex. Nearly 40t of gravel dropped off and god knows 5 trucks away of material. The little mini ex did it all. Some tools are the right tool and some we just make do 😄 nice job buddy 👍
That sort of job is more suitable for a skid steer but still doable and like you said better that shovel and wheel barrow. Good job. I reakon a good truck driver could have ran that out a little bit for you but things look different in person than on camera. You get a better finish back blading to.
Probably if they got someone in with a skid steer they would have had to pay full rates. But by getting a dottery old guy on a Rhino they got a very low budget job done. Because I wasn't going to be there when the gravel arrived I got them to dump it in heaps so it didn't block access. Are you still gold hunting?

Hello thank you for watching. I mainly just use the excavator working at my own property so it hasn't clocked up that many hours yet, Just over 260 hrs and no problems with the machine. I had an issue with the fuel at one stage but only because my neighbour filled up my diesel container and somehow got AdBlue mixed in with it. Because my place is very rocky I do flip a track off now and then, but can normally get it back on within a few minutes. If I was going out full time contracting would probably buy a Kubota or Hitachi but for what I'm doing here this Rhino is excellent and I'm very impressed with what it can do. Cheers.
Definitely better than the shovel and wheel barrow. My next video will show why I'm finished with the shovel and wheel barrow. The tanks are rain water storage tanks. At our place we find one 26 000 litre tank to be sufficient but nowadays the local council in their infinite wisdom say you have to have three tanks. I think mainly to help with fire fighting. Hope things are going good for you in Canada.

Very clean spring fed well But in our old house we had a tank under the garage 26,000 litres but we had water delivered as it was illegal to collect rain water due to ecoli growing in the tank. 4,000 u.s. gallons of water was 140 bucks delivered it came from the nearby city of Hamilton. The old house could not dig a well due to heavy sulpher in area. Real stinky.

Did you get yourself a digger in the end? I'm still very happy with mine, coming up to 300 hrs now and going good.
