When ya make catchy songs, understandable lyrics, with passion & emotion, and songs that all sound like they are or could be hits....then ya have metal the planet can all enjoy, not just a small following. Not sure why "true headbangers" think roaring nonesense into the mic and having the same character to every song is tougher and better. Sorry to break it to the metal purists out there...THIS IS THE BEST METAL BAND ON THE PLANET FOR UNCOUNTABLE REASONS!
Power Metal: The Most Powerful of ALL the metals! I’m a metalhead, but I also have a background in opera, so naturally I fell in love with power metal. Beast in Black was love at first listen to me. It’s also fun to hear Yannis sing more straightforward metal, like in Sacred Outcry and Warrior Path. I don’t know if you’ve listened to Warrior Path yet, but Daniel Heiman will be taking over Yannis’ spot on their next album early next year. The two greatest vocalists in all of metal each doing an album in the same band? Hell yes.
Saw this live as support to 'Nightwish'...two questions...(1) obviously heavy synthesis on this track, but no synths on stage so guess backing tapes ( does look a bit obvious on this track, & (2) why did the front man keep disappearing off stage between each track throughout the gig ? Regardless of these two points, fave track, a great band, a great gig, & a great night out
I just recently discovered this band and got the first 2 albums on vinyl. Great stuff! BUT I think with such a big sound and especially the big keyboard/synth sound they should have a good keyboard player on stage with them. Also the electronic drum tracks laid over what they are playing live kinda sucks. If you can not pull it off live then don't put it on the album! Like I said I really enjoy this band. I also wonder if the lead guitar player here was actually the one playing on the record. Nobody singing back up or harmony here either?
