The 1969 Dodge Charger R/T in Drive Angry is a aggressive muscle car that fits perfectly into the film's intense, high-octane atmosphere. Painted in matte black, it exudes a menacing look that complements its role in fast-paced chase sequences. Powered by a 440 cubic inch V8 engine, the Charger delivers raw horsepower, making it ideal for the movie’s action-packed scenes. Damm its good to have your videos back!
Thanks, glad you enjoy them 😉👍
yes sir, a video about a 2nd gen Charger is just like the car, an instant classic. and good news is, we still got a whole mess of them to go. thank you for the musclecar my friend.
You're very welcome and I'd thought you'd like that 😉👍
Because of the Dukes, there’s no car that looks more at home in the air than a 69 Charger.
Like the most beautiful Spartan woman in 300, the gift of her beauty was her curse.
Very true 😉
Love your videos. Especially when you do a lesser popular movie like this. We true car enthusiasts appreciate these so much. Thank you.
Glad to hear it friend, it's lovely comments like this that keeps me going with these, so thank you too 😉👍
Love the video, but I will admit that for the production crew to source out the '69 Dodge Chargers from Death Proof was a smart idea because all they have to do is restore them and add on the safety features for Drive Angry in order to use them right away, plus none of them were destroyed and probably got sold to collectors,at least that's a good thing for sure.
Indeed 😉👍
Another banger, brother. Great choice on the background music!
Sounds like Peaches. 😊
A modified version of it, yeah; had I left in the lyrics, it would have probably got flagged as too vulgar for UA-cam, lol.
Thanks much and glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
There was music? It must have recently been removed by youtube police.
Cool memories seeing 1968 Bullitt when it came out.
American Pickers did a good show on that charger.
RIP Chad McQueen.
Cool, yeah I'll get around to doing a video on that one too 😉👍
'Just another guy who traveling and needs to saved a baby 😅' that's how i see this movie being grandfather's carzy adventure with only one shotgun, too many oneliners, tough gal (in more mays that we know), evil bounty bad guy, anti life group and finally overly useless cgi are all things everyone knows but at least we have 69 charger as today's video really does some justice for dodge's most iconic muscle car so that you buddy and have a nice day bye now later.
Indeed 😉👍
You never disappoint. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
Hi again
It's still surprising to me how many movies and TV shows took a liking to the second generation charger
Howdy and indeed 😉👍
Another great video, I have had 69 Charger for 18 years and love them since Bullitt and Dukes when I was a kid 👍👍👍
Thanks much and cool 😉👍
The 2nd generation 1968-70 Dodge Charger is quite possibly one of the most widely used vehicles in pop culture. Dukes Of Hazzard, the Fast & Furious franchise, Bullitt, Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, Death Proof, just to name a few.
Indeed 😉👍
Excellent video! Thats really cool to find out about the chargers connection to death proof. 😀 Also, that County Charger MPC kit is a re boxing and decals as it was originally a General Lee kit.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and indeed it was 😉👍
2:15 this should be Fact #1 🍻💯
😉👍
I freaking love "Drive Angry" and I was like number 666 😬
I have it on dvd and It was double awesome seeing this at the theater in 3D😁
😉👍
Next video the Death Proof Charger !!! Ha ha also for the color it is blue, i found an article online that someone talked to a stunt driver or someone that worked ok the car, and it was painted blue they said.
I do have that one on my list as well and it is matte black, it's just that in certain sunlight angles with a bit of dust cover, it just appears to have a bluish tint. Even in person, matte paint can be weird on the eyes like that, lol 😉
@CarStarz42 I thought the same, maybe it's a filter, or due to the fakt that the car is dusty and dirty, or lighting, but when you compare the car in death proof, and even the promo pictures of Drive Angry whit that 68 Charger that are in fakt flat black, it looks really different in my opinion, I also read online it was painted blue some stunt coordinator was explaining that, and on another website they even say it's B9 Dark Blue Poly, soooooo I gonna take a scale model and make a replica, and see how it will turn out 😄
@@grievoustheboss Cool 😉👍
@CarStarz42 hope maybe someday the hero car reapers but I doubt it
Oh yeah, I think I was waiting for this without actually knowing
Lol 😉👍
Here’s a challenge? Videos on the green beetle you see in the Bullit car chase, and the yellow beetle at the start of The Shining ? 😎😎😎😎
I doubt I could find much on either since they aren't main vehicles, but I do have them on my list to look into anyway 😉
I gotta go back and watch every single video because I didn’t even think to ask about this one but what did I did ask you’ve already done lol
😉👍
I wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy swapped in an LS in the stunt cars since he is famous for using a common drivetrain in the F&F movies for reliability and not having to worry about the condition of the stock engine.
Yeah, if the funding had been there, they may of, but this was quite a lo budget film actually as you can tell by the cast choice and cartoon like CGI sequences, lol.
@@CarStarz42 definitely. Cage is no bueno. 😎
Absolutely pointless fact that only a Charger fanatic would notice, 1:00 the Charger has 1968 fuel cap
Good eye friend 😉👍
Drive Angry is a guilty pleasure for me. It's what Marvel should have done for Ghost Rider imo.
😉👍
So, that Chargers did not want to die 😃
Thanks for another great video, the more because is about my most beloved car since when i know what a car is ❤..
..and do not tell The Accountant how great was the 440 😁😁
Glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 I enjoyed ot a lot! =)
1969 Dodge Chargers didn't always have the passenger mirror because it was an optional item at the time, but the safety benefits outweigh the aerodynamic downsides in my opinion.
Indeed 😉
Nowadays every car except the hero car would probably just have a GM LS crate motor swapped into it.
Most likely, but they went as authentic and cheap as possible on this one 😉
We need a video about the 71 chevelle next!
Possible, but since it was part of some of the worst cheap CGI effects in the film, it's unfortunately quite tainted. It's too bad so many Nic Cage movies do that to us
Was wondering if you could possibly cover Final Destination 2 since many vehicles are involved in the opening pileup. Though you probably wouldn't be able to only cover one of them. Perhaps you could devote each fact to one of the main character's vehicles? I believe there's around 7-8 unique important vehicles in them (Kimberly's SUV, Evan's Firebird, Rory's Mustang, Nora's Pinto, Eugene's Motorcycle, Burke's Police Car, and Kat's SUV + Log Truck)
I focus on individual cars, one at a time, for my videos as folks expect the depth at this point, but I'll add it to my mega list anyway to look into. Thanks
Pit Nicholas Cage with Vin Diesel, and…
Please do the Mustang from Need for Speed!
I do indeed already have that one on my to do list also, thanks 😉👍
The MPC model kit is not considered excellent by model building enthusiasts. Although a good builder can make it look great.
At least it's still available friend 😉👍
How about the 75 Chevrolet blazer from last action hero, I’m looking at one that I would like to replicate and would love an in Depth into it
I do indeed already have that one on my list to look into. Thanks
Way cool thanks did watch the movie 😊
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 I have to say I always enjoy the video's thanks 👍
No wonder I've never heard of this movie. It has Nicolas Cage. 😅
Yeah, he's certainly always been a "B" level "actor" for sure, lol!
@@CarStarz42
Yup, you got that right. 😁
I dont like the split on the grille- charger 500 and daytonas didnt have it
Tends to be a love it or hate it for most, but you could just go with a '68 in that case 😉
I love the movie drive angry
😉👍
Terrible movie, amazing car.
Lol, I think most would agree with that indeed 😉
The mpc kits aren’t that great as far as the attention to detail goes the one’s from revell are better
ok, at least they still make them though 😉👍
I'd actually prefer if they DID go to all CGI in these movies. Getting sick of having classic American cars and trucks destroyed for a GD movie.
Understandable, but if they did that; no one would watch it. At least they didn't destroy them for this film 😉
Well sir seeing how we're doing 10 facts about the killer Dodge Charger this should have been fact number one that was not Milton's charger ever it belong to Amber's character that she bought and paid for so let's get the facts straight
Lol, well, the studio is probably on the real title, so there you go 😉
C'mon Drive angry is almost perfect, the cgi did suck, but the acting, car stunts and everything else was sublime, I mean nick cage never disapoints even in those direct to video turds he did to pay the tax bills he never slacked off, Amber turd wasn't acting she was crazy hot, my kind of girl except unlike depp I know you just hit it a few times then leave the state and change your name so she can't find ya, you don't marry it. William Fitcher as the accountant, you know he was have n fun and it shows. Alot of his lines were funny as hell, like when turds ex boyfriend told him what car he had and the first thing the accountant asks 440 or hemi, like even the devils henchman are into muscle cars.
Nope I will fight anyone who says this is a lousy movie.🤣
By the way did you know the riveria he drove in the beginning still exists, one of those discovery type car shows bought it to fix and flip, it had no engine and trans and the idiots replaced the crashed and bullet ridden front passenger fender, put an engine and trans in an lost their shirts when they sold it as a stock rivvy. Me I would've left it as found just putting in an engine to drive it.
Lol, well; I certainly liked the real car action in the film and the real babe Amber/Piper as well anyway 😉
Fact 1it wasn't Miltons car it was the girl's boyfriend car
Lol, well he never even drove the car in the film; Milton did the most by far, so I went with that 😉
@@CarStarz42 still doesn't make it his car through
It's not his car it's the girl car
Incorrect actually, technically in the film; the car is owned by the Piper's boyfriend, but Milton drives it the most in the movie so I went with that 😉
Okay I am not a Dodge guy but I am a Ford guy i have 1998 Chevy Silverado with the 454 Big block OBS and my Ford F-150 is faster than 69 Dodge Charger
Pretty cool looking Charger? I'ts dark blue isn't it?. Horrible looking movie.
Definitely matte black in color, although when it has a dusting of dirt on it and hits sunlight at certain angles, it does get a bit of a bluish tint to it. Yes, the movie it self, like most Cage flicks, is quite odd and doesn't make much sense, but if you just focus on the cars and the chick, it's survivable, lol 😉
I'm pretty sure Amber Heard is NOT survivable!
