Note: This story is not inspired by the Magic and Mystery fanfiction, but rather draws ideas from them. It is not connected to the main fanfiction storyline, rather, it focuses on the actual Harry Potter books. This is canon-divergent until Year 5.
Timeline: Year 5, Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter (around the introduction of Dolores Umbridge in her D.A class, not the Sorting hat)
Dazai found himself embarking on yet another day in his intricate life as a member of the Mafia when Mori assigned him a captivating mission that would take place in the enchanting land of Britain. This mission, which shed light on what the locals referred to as the "magical world," was a revelation to Dazai as he delved into the depths of an entirely new realm brimming with wonders and possibilities.
However, Mori's seemingly hasty decision to thrust Dazai into this mystical world left him little time to digest and assimilate the bewildering information. Despite this, Dazai's indomitable spirit and exceptional adaptability led him to readily embrace the challenge, as that what he was trained for, after all.
The magnitude of the task before Dazai; he was entrusted with the arduous mission of acquiring all the Deathly Hallows, powerful artifacts steeped in legend and coveted by many. To achieve this objective, Dazai understood the pivotal importance of forging an intricate bond with none other than the legendary Harry Potter himself, all while deftly avoiding any hint of suspicion. With a keen eye for detail and an abundance of strategic foresight, Dazai meticulously crafted a plan. However, the intricate web of his scheme was not impervious to the interference of external factors, which, although minor in nature, posed a persistent nuisance. Undeterred, Dazai knew that even the slightest disruptions could accumulate and wreak havoc on his grand design.
Intriguingly enough, Dazai made a calculated decision to befriend the illustrious Draco Malfoy, a young wizard widely regarded as an elitist outside the Slytherin house. Recognizing the potential advantages of such a connection, Dazai endeavored to unravel the enigmatic political landscape of the wizarding world, extracting valuable insights along the way.
Yet, hidden beneath this advantageous alliance lay a challenging predicament-the need to withstand Draco's disdainful treatment, as he regarded Dazai as inferior due to his perceived "mudblood" heritage or any other preposterous reasons that fueled his sense of superiority.
Dazai's path converged with that of Dolores Umbridge, a government official adept at disseminating insidious propaganda to veil the imminent resurgence of the enigmatic You-Know-Who. The absurdity of concealing the truth was not lost on Dazai, who firmly believed that transparency and preparedness were paramount and sugarcoating would bring no good. Nonetheless, exercising prudent restraint, Dazai refrained from engaging in an all-out confrontation with Umbridge, skillfully setting himself apart from Potter's confrontational nature, all while subtly undermining her dubious methods.
Amidst the labyrinthine intricacies of the wizarding world, Dazai masterfully established an alliance with the cunning Weasley twins, captivating minds that possessed an unruly charm and an insatiable thirst for mischief. Remarkably, he also managed to cultivate amiable relations with the brilliant Hermione Granger and the valiant Harry Potter, overcoming the prejudices that often clouded his path as a member of Slytherin house.
Yet, it was his enigmatic connection with Draco that intrigued him the most, as their interactions oscillated between the blurred lines of friendship or just an associate, leaving Dazai perpetually questioning the true nature of their relationship.
In the midst of the escalating strife between Umbridge and Harry Potter, Dazai confronted a critical decision-one that would indelibly shape his path. He pondered whether to align himself with the Inquisitorial Squad, a nefarious group under Umbridge's influence, or to pledge his allegiance to Dumbledore's Army, a clandestine organization determined to resist the encroaching darkness. Displaying unwavering audacity, Dazai audaciously chose to infiltrate both factions, skillfully operating undercover in a realm teetering on the precipice of chaos and unpredictability.
Unbeknownst to him, this choice would thrust him into the heart of an ever-unfolding maelstrom, far exceeding his initial expectations. Nonetheless, Dazai relished the prospect of such an exhilarating challenge, poised to confront and conquer whatever formidable obstacles lay in his path, having fun outside of the mafia once in a while.

@@nanacue I believe the whole point of MaM is if harry was never born and dazai went to hogwarts instead as a replacement, it's meant to show how differently the characters bond just by replacing harry, and how the plot was still carried out just differently. If you think about it though the ff is just the book but they replaced a single character, it still follows the plot and the major event's of the book are still there.

I absolutely loved this, my only slight (extremely slight) is that Harry was also raised in the Muggle world so he would have definitely reacted to the gun like Hermione.

@@nanacue I always personally always thought that Harry would be rather well versed in the darker side of the world and such, and my friend had a headcannon that Harry would be able to identify loads of different guns due to Dudley and Vernon 😂

Next, I agree. I loved MaM so much, but I wanted to make my own type of HP x BSD crossover. And, I finally found people who agree that adding Harry would be so interesting, like the crossover could be canon divergent instead of AU.
Secondly, I made them the 5th year because they would be mature enough to have their own thoughts that are independent and the point where Dazai is already mature enough to make complex calculations that could be very useful to the story and more interesting than them being 1st years.
Thirdly, I was about to add Chuuya and Oda into the story as students, but I lost motivation so I just put Dazai in here, like the average one.

To the second paragraph, I was debating whether or not I should go with the MaM style of 1st year or make my own AU, I was like... fuck I cant create reactions around children since their minds around developed yet and it would be very unnatural and uncannon to make them suddenly mature??? that's why I made them around their 15-16 (5th year)

Okay okay, love this, suggestion for part 2: give them worse reasons that Mori shouldn’t be around children. Make them pity Dazai-just a little bit-and then swing it right back around with something like Soukoku’s kill count or something horrifying that Dazai has done

First of all this was an amazing video. I love your characterization and how you sprinkled all those little details in. The interactions and dialogues were absolutely wonderful and seemed very canon to me.

• How smart Dazai actually is
• More about Dazai as a person ( ex. The dehumanisation, more seriously about his suicidal tendencies)
• How he fakes his personality and how he acts when no one is around
•His alcoholic tendencies
• Why he joined the Mafia( ex. To find a reason to live)
•Him being the demon prodigy
• Soukoku ( ex. their deadly partnership and how they are a support system for each other)
• The abuse cycle
