Some advice from a headphone user: try to keep the volume of the music the same level as your own voice, the music was a little louder and it made me jump the first time. Otherwise i really like how thorough you are in your videos!
Jackpot should have been a breakout hit, the song is super cute and catchy, the concept is creative too. The b-sides on the album are really good as well. The same could be said for Pow Pow in 2017. I think one of the problems with its success is that it came out in February 2020 when the industry was REALLY saturated with comebacks left and right. I think Jackpot did garner some new fans, but they should have had a comeback soon after to keep them interested. K-pop fans are usually very impatient and won't wait a year for a mini album when so many other groups are giving them 2-3 comebacks each year (since Hunus is such an old company you'd think they would be aware of this lol). It's really a shame... trash company ruining careers for no reason, unfortunately typical in k-pop. BTW, I love your content! The videos you're making are really high quality :)

Really? In my opinion the cute concept was actually the problem. A 2017 debut means you're going to be competing with the girl groups have already debuted for longer who of cute girl concepts Oh My Girl, lovelys, Gfriend, early CLC, Berry Good. If they wanted to succeed with a cute concept that's fine but they needed to hit it from a completely different angle. That's also what happening with girl crush imo. Everyone's hitting it from the same angle.

I really wish they had made the concept/mv a little more quirky and different, kind of like the lyrics and the instrumentation in the song. If it were released today, everyone would be singing “love is volcaaaano, POW POW” lol. To put a little calm to you all. Hunus is a pretty big company and their management became better since last year after some leadership changes. Normally in case of small groups. We can't compared them with big groups. I know their albums doesn't make much profits. That's why they won't be able to comeback very often. For them, to fund themselves for making another comeback album, they have to make money by doing other activities. That's why Elris' many concerts/festivals appearances and many other game/reality shows, modelling, drama actings, Ost singings this year are very crucial. The fact that they made all these above activities this year, I'm sure Hunus now have enough budget to make a comeback for them. So I strongly hope the comeback is coming soon earlier this year.
I agree with you! Out of all my years I’ve seen Hunus promoting Elris, for this year, they actually did as much as they could with them. And the fact that they are active on social media and the girls are constantly uploading on UA-cam. I feel like because of the change in leadership things are going to be fine. If they could just comeback twice this year i feel like they could finally do well!

Hunus spends $ 50k and receives $ 25k in earnings , how they are going to make two or three comebacks in one year. Actress roles do not spend and have more return and etc... So we can’t blame the company, but the general public that doesn’t accept ELRIS even though he’s so talented.
They're flopped because the management mistake. They should be promoting soo hee solo first with mini album instead of pre release of their group comeback. Also they make another mistake by adding two more members in order to change group image be more hip hop sound before establishing their signature cute concept with hard dancing choreo like their debut.

Hunus also moved into a bigger building this year and the girls got more ads and such this year. I’m also worrying for them. Jackpot was a great album it has no skips. I love to listen their title tracks so much but also they have great b-sides like focus and no bir deal. I do really love them. I didn't expect to get this rantsy but here we go. While I think this video was very well-meant, a lot of your worries are either misplaced or misguided. I've been a BLRIS since their pre-debut days and have therefore spent the better part of 4 years watching them grow into the idols they are now. ELRIS's debut was a reasonably anticipated one, their company has the budget and their brother group Topp Dogg had, while past their golden days, been very popular when they were rookies. Most of their international fans during their debut era came from fangirls of Topp Dogg. Pow Pow gave them a ton of new fans and it was an experience to see them grow rapidly in popularity after MixNine and being featured on another YG Show (Part-time Idol). Obviously, more people went to buy their albums as the company implemented a ticketing system which I won't delve into now. All that's important is that Color Crush albums had the chance to contain gold, silver, or bronze tickets which could be exchanged for certain things. Then came the dreaded hiatus, Pow Pow came very quickly after We, First so the long wait between Summer Dream and Pow Pow felt much longer than it was, even if it was very, very long. The comeback was a relief but it wasn't like the girls dropped off the face of the earth. Sohee was an MC of a beauty show, for example. Summer Dream was very successful compared to their other comebacks, even now it gets mentioned a lot by other idols and has become quite infamous despite the fact that it wasn't a smash hit. the hiatus that followed was also full of schedules, but after Bella told fans to email Hunus both Korean and foreign fans worked together to spam the company, a month or so later Miss U was released. Let me explain why Miss U felt like a punch to the gut for fans. The song was recorded MONTHS before it was released. Everyone knew that the girls had filmed some sort of video while in Mongolia, this was proven by leaked photoshoots that were never released (even after Miss U dropped) and the comments of vloggers about the girl's "recording". Miss U was an old track they used to get fans off their heels. Moreover, when it first dropped it felt so much like a disbandment song EVERYONE panicked. It fit perfectly, a lazy MV of their trip to Mongolia where they were having fun, a slow song with no promotion. This (luckily) wasn't the case after they didn't stop posting and everyone calmed down. Then, months after Miss U's release just when fans were getting angry again the news about Jackpot drops. I still remember the sheer excitement of seeing that photo with the red background of 5 members and 2 members with their backs turned. The two members were revealed to be Chaejeong and EJ. EJ was a known Hunus trainee and Chaejeong was a contestant from PD48. The girls blended into the group very well, especially Chaejeong. There are no worries in the fandom about member changes, everyone gets along. Jackpot's sales were low, but they were actually very high considering the lack of bulk buying for fan signs that would normally be seen. Actually, ELRIS has been appearing on more and more mainstream shows recently. They appear alongside NCT so often in fact that it's become a fandom meme. Whenever we see an NCt concert BLRIS already suspect that ELRIS is going to be on the lineup as well lol. I think it'd do you very well to watch their most recent 2 videos of their backstage activities, the girls talk very honestly about struggling with COVID and their group dynamics in them. While I have many worries for ELRIS, disbandment is not one of them, indefinite hiatus is. Their brother group Xeno-T / Topp Dogg have been on hiatus for so long and have lost so many members that it's basically a different group now. However, ELRIS seem to be taking a different direction. Sohee recently got an acting role in a movie, and Karin and Hyeseong had main roles beside Sohye from I.O.I. Money isn't the problem in their agency, they will keep ELRIS alive as their little passion project for as long as possible but the true thing to worry about is how much longer fans can pull through. I also want to address the Instagram posts and all I can say is, they seem to be gearing up for a concept revamp. Hunus has the habit of teasing something MONTHS before release so I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to a comeback. About Yukyung being forgotten, EJ still hasn't gotten one of those videos, and Yukyung seems to simply not be one for posting covers. EJ and Karin are cover queens, but Yukyung has only done two vocal covers in all of ELRIS history from what I remember. Things are slow, but you have to keep in mind that we ARE in the middle of a pandemic so album sales will not be high for more rookie groups and as long as ELRIS stay active together as a group we have to keep our hopes up that they will keep releasing music however rarely it may be. Thank you for your comment. I do appreciate your input a lot. And I agree to a certain degree. I don't want to make it seem like I'm saying they are flops. I know they were doing pretty well cause they came on my radar after their debut because they were doing alright. Disbandment isn't my only worry. As I mentioned there are a lot of mistreatment rumors going on with HUNUS. I am a kpop fan for over 10 years and I have seen patterns like these all the time. I am not saying they will disband or that they aren't doing anything but it still worries me. For example After School's members were doing a bunch of things after their last Korean comeback but they are basically gone now because of the companies mismanagement. I agree with your point with Miss U, I know fans were upset cause it felt like it was just to "shut them up" about a comeback. I really like the new members so I hope it didn't come of as such but I do always worry. It could be cause the company thought the girls fit the group super well, it could be cause they were trying to save the group or any other reason. We don't know. But being on PD48 isn't enough sometimes. Other idols that appeared on those series didn't end up lasting, JBJ, Pristin, Gugudan and so on. And as you said it's also a worry they'll just go on a long hiatus. That's also a reason to be worried. The pandemic is a reason yes BUT they also did this before Jackpot, not giving the girls a comeback for almost two years so I think my worry of longs gaps in between are justified to a degree Regarding the instragram thing. What I was talking about was the fact they had posted about all of the members in that hashtag besides Yukyung. I know the girls are doing okay, I see them going to festivals and such. But it's certain patterns, the companies back story and more that do make me worried for the future of ELRIS. I care about them a lot and I want them to do well. I am just worried for them and I wanted more people to know about them so they will keep going. But I do appreciate the comment a lot. I know literally nothing about ELRIS' schedule so it makes me happy to see that they seem to be doing relatively well(?) I hope this translates into future comebacks and a bigger fanbase, they really deserve it. ELRIS is such a hidden gem currently and many people are missing out on their music.
Elris, along with Fromis_9, Pristin and Everglow are my favorite rookie groups outside the big three...sad for Pristin though, fromis9 was barely hanging on but i hope their recent album will bring them more success... Everglow is going well with multiple hits songs, effectively competing with BP and dream catchers market... :D
I agree with you! I am very worried about FROMIS9, i might make a video on them too. Everglow seems to be doing good for the most part, i know there is some issues with line distribution but they are doing the best out of the groups you listed by far
What do you even mean about Fromis_9, they were doubling sales every comeback before the last one (10k - 20k - 35k - 60k) and had chart ins on melon starting from the second comeback how is it barely hanging on? Both the video and this comment is ??? for me, ifans truly live in echo chamber.
Hunus needs to understand that they are not SM, jyp or yg to let their artist take long gaps especially when the idol group isnt that known. Its like saying we will disband you guys but slowly and steady. Painful death kinda way.

@@jihoonscarat Aftermoon entertainment, realizing how unstable their lineups were decided to implement a generation system (similarly to some Jpop groups). So every album (not special release) is a seperate generation, with the thrid generation already started. So for example HaL only belongs to Generation I, while EunA belongs to I and II, JungA belongs to I, II and III.

And when they announced their plans for a 3rd album I commented under a photo "So like, E.You left the group for sure" and out of nowhere a person with a handle @/kpopfan(random number) DMed me telling me to delete my comment (I obviously assume that the kpopfan is someone from their company) xd

Speaking of groups that vanished, can you please make a video about Dreamnote? Their last comeback was in January and while they are active on VLIVE and SNS, they don't seem to have any promotions by iMe Korea. And it's not like iMe has other artists to focus on, the only other artist in their label is Lee Sejin from PDX101, and they aren't promoting him either.
They debuted in late 2018 and then had a quick comeback like 3-4 months later. Then it was crickets until early 2020... now it’s been close to a year 😕. They are my favorite group so I’m hoping they comeback soon.

A friend of mine on twitter was hardcore promoting elris for months and so I finally decided to look into them a week before their jackpot comeback and I quickly became obsessed they don’t have have a single bad song and the members are all insanely talented and have their own content and constantly update their social media needless to say I’ve been a stan for a little over a year now and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them!
i still have hope for elris. these girls are so important for me, more than even words can explain i just love them with my whole heart. they've been through long hiatus and i, as a blris, was so scared they'd disband but then jackpot was released. and about the covers i don't really know what to believe. a lot of people are saying that when they do a cover medley it's because they're usually preparing for a comeback and i kinda think that too but it won't be like in two days, sadly we'll have to wait a bit longer if my thoughts are correct. it's so sad how hunus is waisting their talent, like seriously they're so talented but only blris can say. all in all, maybe the long hiatus between comebacks and the lack of promotions might be the key of why they're still so underrated. good video tho! nice and helpful content! 😊
I honestly think they’re going to have a comeback next year. Like ELRIS have large gaps of time when they post on Twitter so I always think they’re doing something. And they had a lot of festival things for the past few months. so manifesting a spring comeback 💔
Summer Dream is sensational. Elris needs to have songs like this one to become successful. Summer Dream hits all the right notes from beginning to the end. The MV is a breath of fresh air. This group has really good potential to be great if given the right song to sing. Elris needs to have a part 2 or English version of Summer Dream.

The group wasn't even doing bad before their hiatus and if they had the jackpot comeback alot sooner, I'm sure it would have done alot better. I'm sorry for the girls and even if i didn't stan them is always sad to see thing like this. Also, what i think is happening with the fans is that maybe it is not that they are tired of not having cb, but is most like to them to be like " It seems like they are going to disband, so I'm not going to go through this " And then move on.. This maybe applies more to new stans, they don't want to stan a group that is in risk and "spend " on albums, and this is so frustrating bcz this is entirely the company's fault to not giving them the right promotion
Ty for this video, I hope it gives them some positive attention. I really love ELRIS and I think they are super underrated. They have really good title tracks and some b-side gems too like Focus and No Big Deal (produced by Charli Taft btw). I honestly thought that Sohee would help carry them a bit more but it seems like her popularity sort of died out, kind of like how Somi's hype seemed to have died out somewhat as well due to lack of initiative to jump onto the momentum from IOI. I started to know this group a little while after Summer Dream came out and was really hooked with this song and album! Then now experiencing their comeback with Jackpot, made me really love them! The choreo and song are sooo catchy and the girls are very talented and pretty! I’m excited to see more of them!
i remember in like 2019 i think, they were supposed to come to germany and perform at a concert two days in a row where groups like NCT Dream, Super Junior and CIX were planned to perform. Since the company that planned the concert went pankrupt they never had the opporturnity to perform at that concert because it got cancelled. I remember searching for them on the internet and watching their mvs since i also planned to got to that concert and i also remember that there were some ppl in groupchats that went to the concert for elris and not for NCT Dream or something. In the end i just want to say that this also coud have helped them to gain more recognition in europe since i know that actually a lot of people wanted to go to these concerts and also did their research on the group and i hop that they will have the opporturnity again in the future
The members are young, maybe a redebut as a different group would be a good idea .. worked for dreamcatcher. You'd have to worry about how much of the market Elris can grab when you list off groups that have debuted just in the last 2 years who are getting more attention; StayC, Woo!ah!, Weeekly, Rocket Punch, Cherry Bullet, Secret Number, Bvndit, Everglow, Cignature, etc. Got to be worth a try.
First, I love Elris. Their Jackpot EP was probably the most solid they have ever released, No Big Deal is just so good. And I still listen from time to time to their older songs like Summer Dream, Miracle, Lovely, Pow Pow and Focus. With that said I certainly won't defend everything about Hunus considering their shadiness sometimes but: - it is very hard to deny that the sales are not good, the numbers are low and have been trending downwards for 3 years. You can blame them for not having a plan yet (unless adding 2 members was the plan, which it seems did not work) but you just can't expect them to fund comeback after comeback blindly - because the album sales are so bad, the company is probably very reliant on gigs to pay the bill. We are in a year where there is almost no festival, concert or event. Elris does not have a fanbase big enough for lightstick and other merch either, the money is not coming in through music and they are not rookie anymore, obviously they have to rely on other avenues like acting, MCing and others - the company has been especially unlucky since late 2017 - early 2018 with tough competition that goes the extra mile to differenciate themselves (with gimmicks, lore or uncommon traits) and unfortunately just good music is not enough anymore to shine. I have to admit that the concepts and themes of Elris outside of their music so far are kind of nebulous and unremarkable and I have no idea how they could appeal to a broader audience without changing their image
Elris is such an underrated group, their songs are amazing, not just the title tracks but the bsides aswell. i really wish they got more popular in Korea. praying for a bigger success with their next comeback
When they announced Jackpot I was so relieved that none of the members from the original lineup left after that long hiatus, I'm very worried too, thank god they still use their social medias, but that company needs to get it together, they're still a very small group and need better promotions

I discovered elris when a friend told me about them and the first song I listened to was jackpot and honestly it was one of my fav 2020 releases it deserved so much more. hunus needs to do something for them quickly or else they might disband and I don’t want that to happen because the girls have so much potential and talent :((
I love Elris, they are in my top 3 girl groups. Thank you so much for talking about them and making a video on them. I haven't seen many people talk about them and it's so sad how overlooked they are. I am also worried about them and their future, but desperately hoping for the best. I hope they give us a comeback soon and that it'll be successfull enough to save them. I love the girls so much, their music is amazing, they work so hard and deserve so much more. Another small, nugu group I love and am worried about is Bvndit. They've been very quiet recently, their newest album didn't have the best sales... I hope they comeback with a banger soon so they can be more secure in the industry. I LOVE my nugu groups Elris and Bvndit, but sometimes it sucks to stan such small groups, simply because of the insecurity and unsure future. They debuted with a super cute concept at the beginning of the fall of cute concepts. I personally love cute but many don’t. On top of that COVID caused the company to lose money. Their company is actually very loving and caring for them because they do what they can with little money. Don’t forget Sohee was offered to join JYP but decided to stay loyal to her small company
I recently saw a post on ig saying that yukyung was working part-time at a café and promoting Elris. the people that interacted with her also said she made a good impression on them. maybe this can help Elris a little bit, especially with their Korean fanbase.
If Elvis was in JYP it would be a big hit group, cause all 5 members are so talented and charming. I think with better songs and choreography and more exposure they would be great.
There are so many groups that haven't get recognition as they should. Being a successful idol are so damn hard if the company not so recognize or the management are poor. Hopefully Elris get recognition from other people and get successful as other popular groups ❤️ Elris's songs seems catchy in my opinion. I don't know anything about the situation, but I can imagine that it must be difficult for a small company to come out with something good. Producing a good song, choreographing a good dance, getting the concept right, and all of that isn't easy to accomplish. Especially when having limited resources, connections and so on. Then again, I think there's also "luck" involved. Some groups just do better for no apparent reason. Or let's say sometimes there are reasons for success that relates with 'just being lucky'. Then again (#2), is Elris really being unsuccessful? Again, I don't know anything about the situation, but maybe they don't earn as much as other groups, however if they can make a living out of this work then isn't that a success? They get to do what they love. I hope a successful Kpop group isn't associated with an asking price of €160 for a concert ticket.
But their company is rich. They have a lot of well known actors that bring in a lot of money, they just moved to a huge custom built building. Money is not an excuse for letting elris down

Just I feel that success is often associated with really high numbers in terms of money, fans, or whatnot. When is a successful life a successful life? Like I said in my previous message, they get to do what they love. Not many people can do that. I for one think a small Kpop group in terms of fans, followers, views and whatnot can be quite special. Usually those "big" Kpop groups are often overrated in my opinion.

All members are so good, but Sohee is an ace in k-pop, she could be easily in a popular group like EVERGLOW or other. She was even great as a solo, it's just the song that wasn't really impressive or original.
When I was first learning about kpop groups early to mid last year, Elris came up a lot as people’s favorites or underrated groups. Favorite songs, etc. Sems like there is a strong support base if they stayed active. Sohee in particular is an elite talent and visual who could get very popular.

ELRIS has potential, they are all visuals and great dancers and power vocals so hopefully hunus can promote them properly, whether it be from comebacks or even variety shows

Hunus Entertainment debuted Topp Dogg, an amazing group that was even more popular than ELRIS. They were super talented, made their own choreographies and helped produce their music, and still got mistreatment. Many members left, and the group hasn't technically disbanded but they aren't promoting at all anymore. Hunus is cursed with putting out amazing content but promoting horribly.
Jackpot literally got me into them it should of been gold and the bsides on that album were stunning I hope elris get an earlier brave girls moment they deserve a lot better
I've liked ELRIS since debut, and I have also been worried about them. I was glad to see the company didn't just quit on them and went on with Jackpot. It's a really great track, their stages were quality, they looked amazing, and the comeback just should have been more successful for them. Thank you for talking about them! I love this group. All the members are lovely and each offer a unique style to the group. But yeah, I've had my worries as well especially over the fact their company barely makes an effort to promote them or give them enough comebacks. I don't know much about their company but if its true they are a poorly managed one, I fear Elris' time as a group might fade. Its worrisome because kpop groups have a finite time in the business, seven years is the peak for the top tier, then its downhill from there until official disbandment. Jackpot showed Elris can do other niches other than mere cutesy crush, not that cutesy is bad or anything. The group has potential. To me, I've always had a good feeling about them about their versatility to do any style. I will keep on rooting for them despite not getting much air time. I'm glad for them they have a positive attitude on social media and are active on UA-cam posting covers. If Humus won't do the right thing, at least they have alternatives to keep in touch with Blris. Elris fighting ^.^
I used to be a ToppDogg stan which led me to know about Sohee because later she released her single ‘Spotlight’ and I remember this comment saying “ I love Sohee however I would love to see her in a group” and I had the same thought because I didn’t want to stop seeing her and for my surprise later that year HUNUS announced ELRIS will be debuting with Sohee up to this day I still listen to We First in it I love these girls but HUNUS has the worst management ever plus they don’t have that many funds so yeah I’m always worried I also thought they were disbanding before Jackpot I’m glad they didn’t 🥲 they’ve been pretty active on sns I wish they can have a comeback soon.

another group im worried about is api/ho1iday. they debuted in april 2019 with fantasy which didn't get a mv. they havent had a cb since. they left the company, allegedly bc they went bankrupt. they were supposed to cb in dec/jan but havent. im worried theyre gonna disband bc they dont have enough money to keep going (saebyeok works part time in a bar-). theyre super sweet and talented (dany was a backup dancer on bigbang taeyangs tour, theyve done so many good covers...). they deserve the world lol
UPDATE: Cheongeum and Saebyeok left, and I think Saebyeok is now an influencer. Heejoo is also said to have auditioned for another company (tho I'm not 100% sure), so her status in the group is uncertain
I heard of the group but at the time I wasn’t interested in their concept. When they came out with Jackpot I instantly feel in love. Hope this virus won’t cause them to disband like other smaller groups from smaller companies

I feel like since their cute concepts seemed to do better than Jackpot, despite it being crush season in Kpop, I would get even more involved if they did cute. It would make them stand out more like Weeekly, Cherry Bullet, Rocket Punch and other groups who aren’t doing the crush concepts. I do feel like Hunus got better with not mistreating their idols, but they still seem to not know how to manage them properly
Some advice from a headphone user: try to keep the volume of the music the same level as your own voice, the music was a little louder and it made me jump the first time.

Jackpot should have been a breakout hit, the song is super cute and catchy, the concept is creative too. The b-sides on the album are really good as well. The same could be said for Pow Pow in 2017. I think one of the problems with its success is that it came out in February 2020 when the industry was REALLY saturated with comebacks left and right. I think Jackpot did garner some new fans, but they should have had a comeback soon after to keep them interested. K-pop fans are usually very impatient and won't wait a year for a mini album when so many other groups are giving them 2-3 comebacks each year (since Hunus is such an old company you'd think they would be aware of this lol). It's really a shame... trash company ruining careers for no reason, unfortunately typical in k-pop.

Really? In my opinion the cute concept was actually the problem. A 2017 debut means you're going to be competing with the girl groups have already debuted for longer who of cute girl concepts Oh My Girl, lovelys, Gfriend, early CLC, Berry Good. If they wanted to succeed with a cute concept that's fine but they needed to hit it from a completely different angle. That's also what happening with girl crush imo. Everyone's hitting it from the same angle.

To put a little calm to you all. Hunus is a pretty big company and their management became better since last year after some leadership changes. Normally in case of small groups. We can't compared them with big groups. I know their albums doesn't make much profits. That's why they won't be able to comeback very often. For them, to fund themselves for making another comeback album, they have to make money by doing other activities. That's why Elris' many concerts/festivals appearances and many other game/reality shows, modelling, drama actings, Ost singings this year are very crucial. The fact that they made all these above activities this year, I'm sure Hunus now have enough budget to make a comeback for them. So I strongly hope the comeback is coming soon earlier this year.
I agree with you! Out of all my years I’ve seen Hunus promoting Elris, for this year, they actually did as much as they could with them. And the fact that they are active on social media and the girls are constantly uploading on UA-cam. I feel like because of the change in leadership things are going to be fine. If they could just comeback twice this year i feel like they could finally do well!

They're flopped because the management mistake. They should be promoting soo hee solo first with mini album instead of pre release of their group comeback. Hunus also moved into a bigger building this year and the girls got more ads and such this year. Karin and Hyeseong being in a horror drama with Sohee of IOI this year and Sohee of Elris debuting in a movie next year called Idol Recipe. I’m also worrying for them. Jackpot was a great album it has no skips. I love to listen their title tracks so much but also they have great b-sides like focus and no bir deal. I do really love them. I didn't expect to get this rantsy but here we go.
While I think this video was very well-meant, a lot of your worries are either misplaced or misguided. I've been a BLRIS since their pre-debut days and have therefore spent the better part of 4 years watching them grow into the idols they are now. ELRIS's debut was a reasonably anticipated one, their company has the budget and their brother group Topp Dogg had, while past their golden days, been very popular when they were rookies. Most of their international fans during their debut era came from fangirls of Topp Dogg. Pow Pow gave them a ton of new fans and it was an experience to see them grow rapidly in popularity after MixNine and being featured on another YG Show (Part-time Idol). Obviously, more people went to buy their albums as the company implemented a ticketing system which I won't delve into now. All that's important is that Color Crush albums had the chance to contain gold, silver, or bronze tickets which could be exchanged for certain things. Then came the dreaded hiatus, Pow Pow came very quickly after We, First so the long wait between Summer Dream and Pow Pow felt much longer than it was, even if it was very, very long. The comeback was a relief but it wasn't like the girls dropped off the face of the earth. Sohee was an MC of a beauty show, for example. Summer Dream was very successful compared to their other comebacks, even now it gets mentioned a lot by other idols and has become quite infamous despite the fact that it wasn't a smash hit. the hiatus that followed was also full of schedules, but after Bella told fans to email Hunus both Korean and foreign fans worked together to spam the company, a month or so later Miss U was released. Let me explain why Miss U felt like a punch to the gut for fans. The song was recorded MONTHS before it was released. Everyone knew that the girls had filmed some sort of video while in Mongolia, this was proven by leaked photoshoots that were never released (even after Miss U dropped) and the comments of vloggers about the girl's "recording". Miss U was an old track they used to get fans off their heels. Moreover, when it first dropped it felt so much like a disbandment song EVERYONE panicked. It fit perfectly, a lazy MV of their trip to Mongolia where they were having fun, a slow song with no promotion. This (luckily) wasn't the case after they didn't stop posting and everyone calmed down. Then, months after Miss U's release just when fans were getting angry again the news about Jackpot drops. I still remember the sheer excitement of seeing that photo with the red background of 5 members and 2 members with their backs turned. The two members were revealed to be Chaejeong and EJ. EJ was a known Hunus trainee and Chaejeong was a contestant from PD48. The girls blended into the group very well, especially Chaejeong. There are no worries in the fandom about member changes, everyone gets along. Jackpot's sales were low, but they were actually very high considering the lack of bulk buying for fan signs that would normally be seen. Actually, ELRIS has been appearing on more and more mainstream shows recently. They appear alongside NCT so often in fact that it's become a fandom meme. Whenever we see an NCt concert BLRIS already suspect that ELRIS is going to be on the lineup as well lol. I think it'd do you very well to watch their most recent 2 videos of their backstage activities, the girls talk very honestly about struggling with COVID and their group dynamics in them. While I have many worries for ELRIS, disbandment is not one of them, indefinite hiatus is. Their brother group Xeno-T / Topp Dogg have been on hiatus for so long and have lost so many members that it's basically a different group now. However, ELRIS seem to be taking a different direction. Sohee recently got an acting role in a movie, and Karin and Hyeseong had main roles beside Sohye from I.O.I. Money isn't the problem in their agency, they will keep ELRIS alive as their little passion project for as long as possible but the true thing to worry about is how much longer fans can pull through.
I also want to address the Instagram posts and all I can say is, they seem to be gearing up for a concept revamp. Hunus has the habit of teasing something MONTHS before release so I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to a comeback. About Yukyung being forgotten, EJ still hasn't gotten one of those videos, and Yukyung seems to simply not be one for posting covers. EJ and Karin are cover queens, but Yukyung has only done two vocal covers in all of ELRIS history from what I remember. Things are slow, but you have to keep in mind that we ARE in the middle of a pandemic so album sales will not be high for more rookie groups and as long as ELRIS stay active together as a group we have to keep our hopes up that they will keep releasing music however rarely it may be. If you want me to explain something else feel free to ask.

I don't want to make it seem like I'm saying they are flops. I know they were doing pretty well cause they came on my radar after their debut because they were doing alright. Disbandment isn't my only worry. As I mentioned there are a lot of mistreatment rumors going on with HUNUS. I am a kpop fan for over 10 years and I have seen patterns like these all the time. I am not saying they will disband or that they aren't doing anything but it still worries me. For example After School's members were doing a bunch of things after their last Korean comeback but they are basically gone now because of the companies mismanagement. I agree with your point with Miss U, I know fans were upset cause it felt like it was just to "shut them up" about a comeback. I really like the new members so I hope it didn't come of as such but I do always worry. It could be cause the company thought the girls fit the group super well, it could be cause they were trying to save the group or any other reason. We don't know. But being on PD48 isn't enough sometimes. Other idols that appeared on those series didn't end up lasting, JBJ, Pristin, Gugudan and so on. And as you said it's also a worry they'll just go on a long hiatus. That's also a reason to be worried.
The pandemic is a reason yes BUT they also did this before Jackpot, not giving the girls a comeback for almost two years so I think my worry of longs gaps in between are justified to a degree
Regarding the instragram thing. What I was talking about was the fact they had posted about all of the members in that hashtag besides Yukyung.
I know the girls are doing okay, I see them going to festivals and such. But it's certain patterns, the companies back story and more that do make me worried for the future of ELRIS.
I care about them a lot and I want them to do well. I am just worried for them and I wanted more people to know about them so they will keep going.

Elris, along with Fromis_9, Pristin and Everglow are my favorite rookie groups outside the big three...sad for Pristin though, fromis9 was barely hanging on but i hope their recent album will bring them more success... Everglow is going well with multiple hits songs, effectively competing with BP and dream catchers market... :D

@@jihoonscarat Aftermoon entertainment, realizing how unstable their lineups were decided to implement a generation system (similarly to some Jpop groups).
So every album (not special release) is a seperate generation, with the thrid generation already started.
So for example HaL only belongs to Generation I, while EunA belongs to I and II, JungA belongs to I, II and III.

Their last comeback was in January and while they are active on VLIVE and SNS, they don't seem to have any promotions by iMe Korea. A friend of mine on twitter was hardcore promoting elris for months and so I finally decided to look into them a week before their jackpot comeback and I quickly became obsessed they don’t have have a single bad song and the members are all insanely talented and have their own content and constantly update their social media needless to say I’ve been a stan for a little over a year now and I can’t wait to see what comes next for them!

i still have hope for elris. these girls are so important for me, more than even words can explain i just love them with my whole heart. they've been through long hiatus and i, as a blris, was so scared they'd disband but then jackpot was released. and about the covers i don't really know what to believe. a lot of people are saying that when they do a cover medley it's because they're usually preparing for a comeback and i kinda think that too but it won't be like in two days, sadly we'll have to wait a bit longer if my thoughts are correct. it's so sad how hunus is waisting their talent, like seriously they're so talented but only blris can say. all in all, maybe the long hiatus between comebacks and the lack of promotions might be the key of why they're still so underrated. good video tho! nice and helpful content! 😊

Summer Dream is sensational. Elris needs to have songs like this one to become successful. Summer Dream hits all the right notes from beginning to the end. The MV is a breath of fresh air. This group has really good potential to be great if given the right song to sing. Elris needs to have a part 2 or English version of Summer Dream.

I started to know this group a little while after Summer Dream came out and was really hooked with this song and album! Then now experiencing their comeback with Jackpot, made me really love them! i remember in like 2019 i think, they were supposed to come to germany and perform at a concert two days in a row where groups like NCT Dream, Super Junior and CIX were planned to perform. Since the company that planned the concert went pankrupt they never had the opporturnity to perform at that concert because it got cancelled. I remember searching for them on the internet and watching their mvs since i also planned to got to that concert and i also remember that there were some ppl in groupchats that went to the concert for elris and not for NCT Dream or something. In the end i just want to say that this also coud have helped them to gain more recognition in europe since i know that actually a lot of people wanted to go to these concerts and also did their research on the group and i hop that they will have the opporturnity again in the future

You'd have to worry about how much of the market Elris can grab when you list off groups that have debuted just in the last 2 years who are getting more attention; StayC, Woo!ah!, Weeekly, Rocket Punch, Cherry Bullet, Secret Number, Bvndit, Everglow, Cignature, etc. Got to be worth a try.

First, I love Elris. Their Jackpot EP was probably the most solid they have ever released, No Big Deal is just so good. And I still listen from time to time to their older songs like Summer Dream, Miracle, Lovely, Pow Pow and Focus. With that said I certainly won't defend everything about Hunus considering their shadiness sometimes but:
- it is very hard to deny that the sales are not good, the numbers are low and have been trending downwards for 3 years. You can blame them for not having a plan yet (unless adding 2 members was the plan, which it seems did not work) but you just can't expect them to fund comeback after comeback blindly
- because the album sales are so bad, the company is probably very reliant on gigs to pay the bill. We are in a year where there is almost no festival, concert or event. Elris does not have a fanbase big enough for lightstick and other merch either, the money is not coming in through music and they are not rookie anymore, obviously they have to rely on other avenues like acting, MCing and others
- the company has been especially unlucky since late 2017 - early 2018 with tough competition that goes the extra mile to differenciate themselves (with gimmicks, lore or uncommon traits) and unfortunately just good music is not enough anymore to shine. I have to admit that the concepts and themes of Elris outside of their music so far are kind of nebulous and unremarkable and I have no idea how they could appeal to a broader audience without changing their image
Elris is such an underrated group, their songs are amazing, not just the title tracks but the bsides aswell. i really wish they got more popular in Korea.

When they announced Jackpot I was so relieved that none of the members from the original lineup left after that long hiatus, I'm very worried too, thank god they still use their social medias, but that company needs to get it together, they're still a very small group and need better promotions

I discovered elris when a friend told me about them and the first song I listened to was jackpot and honestly it was one of my fav 2020 releases it deserved so much more. hunus needs to do something for them quickly or else they might disband and I don’t want that to happen because the girls have so much potential and talent :((
I love Elris, they are in my top 3 girl groups. Thank you so much for talking about them and making a video on them. I haven't seen many people talk about them and it's so sad how overlooked they are. I am also worried about them and their future, but desperately hoping for the best. I hope they give us a comeback soon and that it'll be successfull enough to save them. I love the girls so much, their music is amazing, they work so hard and deserve so much more.
Another small, nugu group I love and am worried about is Bvndit. They've been very quiet recently, their newest album didn't have the best sales... I hope they comeback with a banger soon so they can be more secure in the industry. I LOVE my nugu groups Elris and Bvndit, but sometimes it sucks to stan such small groups, simply because of the insecurity and unsure future.

They debuted with a super cute concept at the beginning of the fall of cute concepts. I personally love cute but many don’t. On top of that COVID caused the company to lose money. Their company is actually very loving and caring for them because they do what they can with little money. Don’t forget Sohee was offered to join JYP but decided to stay loyal to her small company

There are so many groups that haven't get recognition as they should. Being a successful idol are so damn hard if the company not so recognize or the management are poor.

I don't know anything about the situation, but I can imagine that it must be difficult for a small company to come out with something good. Producing a good song, choreographing a good dance, getting the concept right, and all of that isn't easy to accomplish. Especially when having limited resources, connections and so on. Then again, I think there's also "luck" involved. Some groups just do better for no apparent reason. Or let's say sometimes there are reasons for success that relates with 'just being lucky'. Then again (#2), is Elris really being unsuccessful? Again, I don't know anything about the situation, but maybe they don't earn as much as other groups, however if they can make a living out of this work then isn't that a success? They get to do what they love. I hope a successful Kpop group isn't associated with an asking price of €160 for a concert ticket.
But their company is rich. They have a lot of well known actors that bring in a lot of money, they just moved to a huge custom built building. Money is not an excuse for letting elris down

Just I feel that success is often associated with really high numbers in terms of money, fans, or whatnot. When is a successful life a successful life? Like I said in my previous message, they get to do what they love. Not many people can do that. I for one think a small Kpop group in terms of fans, followers, views and whatnot can be quite special. Usually those "big" Kpop groups are often overrated in my opinion.

All members are so good, but Sohee is an ace in k-pop, she could be easily in a popular group like EVERGLOW or other. She was even great as a solo, it's just the song that wasn't really impressive or original.

When I was first learning about kpop groups early to mid last year, Elris came up a lot as people’s favorites or underrated groups. Favorite songs, etc. Sems like there is a strong support base if they stayed active. Sohee in particular is an elite talent and visual who could get very popular.
it hurts so much because they have SO much potential and jackpot was soooo gooooood but hunus just will NOT put any effort into their promotion. elris could be a big group if they were treated right :(
ELRIS has potential, they are all visuals and great dancers and power vocals so hopefully hunus can promote them properly, whether it be from comebacks or even variety shows

Hunus Entertainment debuted Topp Dogg, an amazing group that was even more popular than ELRIS. They were super talented, made their own choreographies and helped produce their music, and still got mistreatment. Many members left, and the group hasn't technically disbanded but they aren't promoting at all anymore. Hunus is cursed with putting out amazing content but promoting horribly.
So Elris had a mini concert in January this year and "now" they are starting promotion in Japan... But not a hint about new music...

I love this group. All the members are lovely and each offer a unique style to the group. But yeah, I've had my worries as well especially over the fact their company barely makes an effort to promote them or give them enough comebacks. I don't know much about their company but if its true they are a poorly managed one, I fear Elris' time as a group might fade. Its worrisome because kpop groups have a finite time in the business, seven years is the peak for the top tier, then its downhill from there until official disbandment. Jackpot showed Elris can do other niches other than mere cutesy crush, not that cutesy is bad or anything. The group has potential. To me, I've always had a good feeling about them about their versatility to do any style. I will keep on rooting for them despite not getting much air time. I'm glad for them they have a positive attitude on social media and are active on UA-cam posting covers. If Humus won't do the right thing, at least they have alternatives to keep in touch with Blris. Elris fighting ^.^

I used to be a ToppDogg stan which led me to know about Sohee because later she released her single ‘Spotlight’ and I remember this comment saying “ I love Sohee however I would love to see her in a group” and I had the same thought because I didn’t want to stop seeing her and for my surprise later that year HUNUS announced ELRIS will be debuting with Sohee up to this day I still listen to We First in it I love these girls but HUNUS has the worst management ever plus they don’t have that many funds so yeah I’m always worried I also thought they were disbanding before Jackpot I’m glad they didn’t 🥲 they’ve been pretty active on sns I wish they can have a comeback soon.

another group im worried about is api/ho1iday. they debuted in april 2019 with fantasy which didn't get a mv. they havent had a cb since. they left the company, allegedly bc they went bankrupt. they were supposed to cb in dec/jan but havent. im worried theyre gonna disband bc they dont have enough money to keep going (saebyeok works part time in a bar-). theyre super sweet and talented (dany was a backup dancer on bigbang taeyangs tour, theyve done so many good covers...). they deserve the world lol

UPDATE: Cheongeum and Saebyeok left, and I think Saebyeok is now an influencer. Heejoo is also said to have auditioned for another company (tho I'm not 100% sure), so her status in the group is uncertain

I feel like since their cute concepts seemed to do better than Jackpot, despite it being crush season in Kpop, I would get even more involved if they did cute. It would make them stand out more like Weeekly, Cherry Bullet, Rocket Punch and other groups who aren’t doing the crush concepts. I do feel like Hunus got better with not mistreating their idols, but they still seem to not know how to manage them properly
