I used my backpack as a backrest on a 450 mile ride to Sturgis last month and it felt great to be able to lean back and have that support. You’ll definitely appreciate having that support on a long trip.
my best friend is a forklift technician, works on them every day. he uses harbor freight tools exclusively. people give harbor freight such a bad rap. their warranty is great and hes rarely had the tools break on him. ive personally never had any issues with harbor freight tools. i even have a big roll around tool box from harbor freight. just as good as the snap-on equivalent and quarter the price. made in china is no longer an excuse to call a product trash. both my us general box and snap-ons equivalent box are both made in china. both are equally good. one costs 200 bucks the other 1000.
nicely done. I like cheaper tools for travel, anyway. This is coming from a total tool snob. If you're on the side of the road fixing your bike in Texas heat, 10 bucks says you leave something behind because you're in such a hurry to roll out once it's fixed. cheap tools, no problem. expensive tools, you'll be kicking your own ass for days....
Awesome video mate, I bought one of the bags and this just saved me a shit load of time. And all the comments solved all the other questions I had!!! Cheers Bird Brains 🍻🍻🍻
Went 1900 miles on my 04 carbed sportster in 4 days. Went through 1 quart of oil. And had to tighten up my battery cable. That’s it, you should be ok on that newish dyna
I like a mini crescent wrench for those cables. Rather than carrying multiple sizes. Small foldable torx and Allen set etc. that bag is on my list! Nice video.
I wouldn't bother with a patch kit unless you have a way of getting access to the tube to patch it. Vice grips and some type of leatherman type tool. Don't worry about harbor freight. I've used mostly craftsman as an aircraft mechanic for over 20 years. But that one large wrench or socket that I might use once every couple years-harbor freight. Nice review.
Noticed when you bought your Torx set you bought the pamper proof set. (One with the hole in the middle) you really need the regular ones because there is a really good chance you wont be able to get off whatever you need to unscrew and it will just strip the fastener.
Hey mate can you please list all of the tools you ended up using in the comments of this video itd be a massive help 🙏🙏 im really keen to go get kitted out for my biltwell and im riding the same bike
I buy Harbor Freight all the time, save money and they have a warranty. I have had some of those colored deep well for 12 years and they are still going...
If you're not trying to make a living with the tools 99% of the time pittsburg junk works fine. Thats the same thing I bought for my emergency roadside kit. Haters gonna hate, but it got be back up and running when I was 1000 miles away from home in the middle of yellowstone last summer!!!
Don't count out the trans, and definitely don't count out a 4" ball Allen I. 3/16 for your oil pan. When either leak you have a massive problem that's fairly easy to at least make work until you can get somewhere. And just remember, synthetic oil is the same in all 3 holes so a few quarts can really make your day a lot easier
I did - from work...rewatched - yep right there around 9:15...stupid work distracting me. Vid was in background while I was earning money. :) Sorry to clutter.
me i have a small tool bag but also a big alice pack with my saddle bags and a tool roll bag so i have pleanty room for tools i think i would rather lose a five dollor wrench then a 50 dollor rachet
Glad I don't own a Harley .. If Harley wanted to export more bikes they would make them Metric .. even American cars are all Metric now says I assumed ..
add a tire patch kit and co2 cartridges as you have spoke wheels and they will get you fixed with a flat in a heartbeat and back on the road
Don’t forget to add a tube of blue locktite
MetalWind that’s a must have 👍

that bag may be my next buy! and those tools WORKS! life time warranty! no questions asked, just take your broken tool and they swap it out!
I'd add a Tire Pressure Guage, vice grips, mechanic wire, and a spark plug and plug socket. Great video.
Take an extra quart of oil with you. Also a tire patch kit would be a good investment. Hand pump for filling low tires.
can't patch tubed tires 😕
Good suggestions on the others though!
You can PATCH tubes. You can’t PLUG tubes.
In your case you need a patch kit and a set of tire spoons.
Literally still to this day! I still go back to the same little tool set and keep it in my pickup. Ol’ faithful! 😂🤙🏼

Agreed. My rule is as long as the tool can't kill me, go harbor freight
Don't forget a mini - LED flashlight. I've found it's a must have!!
All the battery packs I carry for my cameras phone etc have built in flashlights 😁
I know this is old but, Headlamp is the only way to go.

Thats a great point!
Also makes it easier to “lend” tools to bikers that need them on the side of the road if you don’t have time to help them get running.

Excellent video! The tape and zip ties were a quality addition, too.

"If only I had cruise control."

Fake news.
@@BikeNBird alright then
add a 10mm socket or wrench for the battery bolts also and I believe that the rear axle nut is actually 36 mm
Battery bolts have phillips head
T-25 & T27 for clam shells on switch housings. multi meter.
I was hoping you wouldn't forget the boop 'em bar. What about the bolt for the shifter? I might add a small flashlight
Don’t forget to carry spare fuses!

Dang nice tool bag

You may be able to fit that bag of zip ties in the pouch that’s behind the netted pouch? Great video 👍🏻

And a cheap test light or HF volt meter can identify a lot of problems with the electrical
One thing you might want to add is a flashlight. The small one's on headstraps and spare batteries for it as well. Great vids 👍
All of my battery packs for my cameras etc have built in flashlights 😁
u do u! Well done!
How do you balance your motorcycle tires.. with balance beads or on a a tire balancing machine.. ???
Can you put inside de bag a full face helmet? concretly, Shoei NXR size L? Thank you.
Might be snug, but probably.
My helmet didnt fit in my Exfill 80.
Great video!! 🤘
Spark pug gap tool and socket and locktite
All you need is a H.O.G. membership card and a credit card !
got both of those as well
Add a handful of zip ties; always helpful for non-hot stuff.
Did....did you watch the video...

what does that bag cost
me i have a small tool bag but also a big alice pack with my saddle bags and a tool roll bag so i have pleanty room for tools i think i would rather lose a five dollor wrench then a 50 dollor rachet
Pack some blue locktite.
Great video, looking forward to the next! BTW thanks for keeping your channel/videos relatively clean. (f-bombs, etc)
It’s an extension not an extender.
Oh thank God you came along to correct him! No one knew what he was talking about! You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! /s
"nobody likes you"
