In this video Nils looks rather like TinTin, the cartoon boy who had a tuft of blond hair and an angelic smile (except when captured by Captain Haddock). Just to add, the great dancers bring out the best in the musicians who play their music live in the background. It wouldn't be as dramatic if the music came from a CD or a computer.

@@shigofumi666 sorry, I didn't check the name of the video before responding. In a strictly competition people usually dance with their dance partners, with whom they may be training for ages already. There are couples who prefer to choreograph everything, there are couples who decide to improvise. However, when you are dancing together for a long time, you might have multiple small combinations of 2-3 moves that work well together, or some particular rhythm variations that became part of your couple and you do them without thinking and so organic that they don't look trained. With that said, it is hard to tell how much of a performance is choreographed and how much is improvised.
Answering your question, I would lean towards improvisation :)
