Haha thanks man! This is the OG spearfishing video back in the day of the AB Biller 36 special and the duck feet fins lol. I still still enjoy watching it too.
MdoubleE outdoors Yeah I've heard they are regulated up there. I think they are more abundant down here, though I've only seen a couple. This was actually my first and only one I have ever shot (measured at 59 inches long). It was decent eating (a little tough), but I probably won't shoot another, just because I get plenty of food just shooting lingcod, which is great eating.
@@matttitchenal6950 you gatta take out entire bones and cook them on grill first . While a middle of the grilling you put meat into a steamer for a while . Then back onto the grill. That's the trick Ive leaned from Japanese master. 🤣😉✌️
Taras K Most of my dives are between 1-1.5 minutes long. I can hold my breath longer, but it is not good to get gassed if you want to take a lot of dives in one day.
Shot it for food. They are legal to take, and I wanted to see what they tasted like. This was the first and likely the only one I will probably ever shoot because I didn't like them as much as lingcod, cabezon or rockfish which are easier to find. It wasn't bad though! I eat all the fish I catch.
Carlos Alfaro is nothing "friendly and docile" about them, and that peaceful docile creature kills literally thousands of other fish crustaceans and creatures mostly BABYS like baby cabezon ling cod and rock fish baby lobsters or crabs etc etc, literally kills thousands a year to cruelly slowly suffocate in it's gullet, yet, it's somehow wrong for a man to quickly kill it and eat it, not to mention if not death at man's hands it suffers a painfully or slow death of illness starvation or as food for other predator of being ripped apart gnawed upon while alive, or swallowed whole live, the ways everything in sea eventually does, yet in you're ignorant mentally ill delusional feeble mind it's somehow wrong for a man to quickly kill something that doesn't feel pain anyway, and take it home and eat it? for phukksakes, I hope n pray YOU never vote or breed you're just too phukking stupid.
Great video! Thanks for the inspiration! Still chasing that first ling :)
I love rewatching this video Matt!

Nice is spearfishing hard?
Why you shoot the wolf eel? They are rare commodity up here in WA coast, but there must be an abundance of them down there. Good to eat I assume?

What's the limit on ling?
It has varied over the years from 1 to 3 per day (currently at 2). This video is a collection of a whole season of diving though.
