I have owned several Subarus over the years, and I have found them to be some of the easiest vehicles to work on. They are so simply designed, almost to a fault. But it makes repairs like this dead easy.
Spray with penetrating oil. Heat with propane torch. Can you get one of the special o2 tools on it? Then maybe a pipe on end of the wrench for more leverage
What a life saver! Thank You!
Glad it helped!

Until your water pump goes out and you realize it's run by your timing belt
@@reedasuarusrex This is true for nearly every car with a timing belt.
That's why you change both at the same time.
Should disconnect the battery while i do this job? Do i need to calibrate the sensors?
I dont see any reason to disconnect battery, and no programming required.
Thanks for the Video , Will PB Blaster cause Fumes when the car started . I will try the same steps to replace for 2006 outback . Thanks again
Yes, there will be light smoke and some odor as the solvent burns off
Which one is bank 1 sensor 1, upstream or downstream?

Thank you Sir...@@darylturcott
I realised there are 2 o2 sensors. Are both the same parts? Thank you
Weird, when I put the crowfoot on the downstream sensor, the extension wants to come up behind the abs. doesn't fit as nicely.
Same year and engine?
@@darylturcott Yes, exactly. Stock original piping up there as well. Might be able to make it work with an angle adapter.
Got it. had to go in through the wheel well and angle joint to get an impact wrench on it.
I looks like it’s by the dipstick
