Gorgeous front and backyard! I wish we could grow hydrangeas and hostas where we live in CA. How did your koi fish do when the weather changed so drastically?
Thank you! I figured with the weather in CA, you could definitely grow hydrangeas! The fish did great! Our pond is about 3 1/2 feet deep.

I would think hydrangeas would love the humidity there. It's hot here in Dallas! This Texas heat is no joke.....and yes, you would need shade.

Beautiful garden! How much sun do your hydrangeas get? Any afternoon sun? I'm in Fort Worth, new to gardening, & totally confused about growing hydrangeas in our area.
My hydrangeas are on the south side of my house. They get mostly shade in the mornings and afternoon sun. Even with the shade, the heat in Texas still burns the leaves a little.

What do you do with the koi in the winter? Did they survive the freeze?
The pond is about 4 feet on the deepest end. All they need is 18 inches to survive in our area. They do great through the winter.

Hi! We feed our hydrangeas Plant-Tone and Holly-Tone. I think it's by Espoma. It works wonders!!!

Why a water pot?
It's for my water plants. I don't have a bog area in my pond, so I keep those water plants in my water pots?
Thats funny.Everyone is planting wildflower gardens for the pollinators but you got rid of yours.
Yep! The wildflower look didn’t go with my garden. Believe me, I have more than enough bees to do the job!
