Hey all, this is just a quick video about what mods you should start with if you intend to modify your mazdaspeed3 extensively. This is a Beginners guide, so you FBO people won't find any new info here.
I forgot to mention that if you upgrade your fuel pump and get an accessport you can run e85 with a proper tune.
This is my opinion, but these are also mods that are highly recommended by tuners and people on the mazdaspeed forums.

Update since video was made: Do not buy a v2 accessport anymore, many tuners do not support it now. v3 only. Great video!

From the looks of it you may need a new intake soon. Corksport doesn't have a true 3 in to 3.5 intake... going to need that soon

What if you want to stay all stock do u need a high pressure fuel pump like if I wanted to do a cat back straight pipe?
Deadman 25 to be safe i would either get an accessport or the hpfp. Do you mean a straightpipe like downpipe back? Or just a catback?

Deadman 25 oh no you should be good. The issue only becomes an issue when you go with stuff like a full intake or downpipe+testpipe
So just to be clear.. The HPFP is only necessary when nodding? Do you gain any benefits if it's stock?

Lol thanks. I just picked up a first gen last week so my bad if I sound like a noob. I find that parts a really hard to come by too. Do you have any sites where you usually go to? I'm having trouble finding a simple front strut (my fronts are blown)
Miguel Tejada it’s all good man, we were all noobs at one point lol. But ya there are plenty of sites to find both aftermarket and OE parts. I’d check corksport and Edge AutoSport as they probably sell the most amount of speed 3 parts. Edge also sells a lot of OE parts. Corksport is also mazda specific, which is cool.
Miguel Tejada for struts check eBay, or the Facebook groups such as Mazdaspeed3 Owners, Mazdaspeed parts and advice, mazda parts for sale.
Also check out salvageperformance.com as they have a bunch of wrecked and broken gen1 and gen2s for part out and their prices are normally pretty good
Have you ever had problems with the map sensor?
Nope, but there are tons of replacements. check edge autosport. Also try unplugging and cleaning it

@@NewOrleansSpeed why would you suggest us to get one then since the ots stunes suck? ots tunes would be one of the most valuable features of the access port imo if i were to buy one and if it sucks that kinda defeats the whole purpose of it. I dont see the need for the guages etc as much and if i were to buy one id get it for the ots tunes, so i can use them before i get pro tuned
@@OGtrushalpatel stay away from the ots tunes, stay on stage 0 to at least monitor to see afr, kr, etc ... Only reason to get an AP is to datalog for your tuner when it's time to get protuned 👍 it's not a waste of money to buy an ap , but the tunes that come with it are not good for our platform.
