I've been driving iR for almost 10 years and this has to be the longest blink-out I've ever seen. I just couldn't believe he popped up again after half a lap of not being there. Anyway, good driving! Solid lines and solid temper. Hope to see you in a race someday. Keep up the good work. :)
A bit disappointing that it took the server so long to definitely disconnect the blinker. It came very close to end your race prematurely. iRacing should be more strict with bad connections in my opinion. Anyway, still a good result with double green!
This is the way to do it. Consider protesting if it is the same driver doing it over multiple races. P.s. This heavily looks like Wifi. Don't ever play games that are very network dependent over Wifi!
Thanks, I think my IR suffers because I jump around from car to car and talking while driving also takes up some of my concentration. I'm hoping to get back up to 2k at some point and then maybe push on to 3k, but for now I will run round in the lower splits :)

i hope that iRacing implement something like invalidate SR deduction when it's clearly taken out by that blinker had a race with blinker that are far more worse than this, taken out completely, disqualified.. wasting my time for just taken out easily by that blinker
@@Jack96993That is a bit concerning. Now I'm wondering how often I'm blinking without knowing it. Unless the guy was messing with your head, of course.
I heard that if others disappear it means that you're blinking. I, had issues a few months back in a couple races. All of a sudden I was on my own? Then it disconnected me.
@@pitbitsdave if you could be so kind as to find the name or link I would be grateful, I found the racelabs one that looks like that one but not for simhub
is this because the server doesnt care about ping or wants to populate races? or these people choose poor server regions (assuming youre allowed) orrr they just choose to play having crappy internet and need to stop ruining everyones experience lol
It is also possible that somebody in his household started a download or something during his race. He didn't seem to have much issues during the first part of the race.
It's often when someone uses wifi instead of plugging a cable in. This can result in increased jitter (that'd you'd never notice in normal use). But yeah, a general bad connection also causes this. Not necessary high ping, then you'll usually see netcode issues, where it looks like there's a gap, but you crash / get a 1 to 4x (as this is worked out client side, so one user will see a crash, the other may see a gap) - but high ping shouldn't lead to jumping, just incorrect positioning.

yeah that was maad
You coped well with the blinker...i've never seen it that bad...like driving in fog!
I had it once that somebody in front of me disappeared for at least 30 seconds. I can tell you that it is very unsettling 🥺
It was very disconcerting, especially when he appeared directly in front of me....

Yep, I had no clue what was happening......
When they start blinking like that I just drive like they're not there...if they wind up hitting me I just report them.

For a 1.3k driver you actually take some good lines. Keep up the good work.

That is the worse lag I've seen on the service in 15 years. Well done keeping your cool.
I've seen quite a few blinking cars over the last week or so, maybe it's people with new computers or set ups?

Maybe when AI comes on a bit they will be able to do that sort of thing
Great job. Funny how the MX5 grows on you.
Yes, I really didn't like it at the start but I can see why so many people like it now....
Hello David, if I can give you an advice, give more FPS (30 is nice) to your track map overlay, it'll be more efficient and better to watch ;)
I think he uses the simhub overlay and hasn't purchased the license, which is why its such low FPS i think
Yes I use the free version, but maybe I need to investigate paying for it to improve things
@ it is not subscription based so it’s a one time payment and you get the full version, I think it is around 6£ or 7£
Can you tell if your car is blinking during a race?
Good question for which I have no answer. You would think that you at least will notice something, like disconnect and reconnect messages.
@Arthur-Tromp Why I ask is in one race that i was in, another driver said I was blinking I had no idea

@davemarcotte1398 I thought that if others disappear I've passed them all 🤣
What is your overlays you are using

He makes a few and they are all free
what is the overlay that shows the blue and red on your sides to warn if you have a car next to you?
I use sim hub, it's one of the custom downloads from a user
