First Look at the Polish Navy's New Miecznik Frigate!

A visualization of Babcock's Arrowhead-140PL design, which was chosen for Poland's Miecznik (Swordfish) frigate procurement program, was unveiled last week at a press conference hosted by the consortium PGZ MIECZNIK.
On April 8, PGZ Group (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa) unveiled the first drawing of the Arrowhead-140PL frigate, which is similar to the Royal Navy’s Type 31 frigates but optimized for Polish Navy requirements, at a press conference in Gdynia, Poland, to publicize the latest status of the project.
The photos from the conference indicate that it was a small-scale conference where primarily the systems of the future frigates, the infrastructure investments required for the implementation of the project, and the design features of the ships were presented by the project managers.

Maganda ang design ng frigate ng poland dahil yong mast ay nasa likoran ng bridges at yong ibabaw ng bridges ay pueding lagyan ng ciws kahit dalawa isa sa pabor at isa sa estrebor tapos puede na malagyan ng vertical missile launcher sa likuran at sa harapan kaya ok na yon kong makabili tayo doon at kong merong budget at sana!

@@marcin23111 How do you know? It's not even launched by anyone yet you simpleton. None built anywhere. The ideas and roles of this ship are always changing and these ships can change with it. The Type 26 is being sold in high numbers across the world, and more orders may start coming for these too. Bitterness because your nations design lost is childish. Nations are paying money for what suits them, so in effect you think you knowl more than the money men lol.

You’re both wrong. OMT (Odense Marine Technology) is the leftover design team from Odense Staalskibsvaerft, shut down after the Ivar Huitfeld class was built.
They’ve been working as warship designers ever since and worked together with Babcock to design the Arrowhead 140 boats (now adopted as Type 31).
The hull form is broadly similar, which makes total sense as there’s a lot of space for upgrading down the line, but the sensors and weapon systems on the Type 31 are different (cheaper and less capable than the Ivar Huitfeld, should it ever actually get armed to its full capability).

Without medium and long range missiles, SeaRAM and Phalanx, it will be an easy target for Russians :(

With the 57mm and 40mm guns a phalanx is not needed as those guns can function as a ciws and that mk41 vls can be equipped with long range missiles such as sm-6 although as it seems optimised for asw this seems unnecessary

"long-range missiles" - will have Camm LR.
"SeaRAM and Phalanx" - that's what the osu-35k is for.

@@aveit6755 Suggestion, instead of vanilla 40mm guns, get the L&T Teevra, a naval version of the L&T Sudarshan. This is a dedicated anti-drone CIWS, 240 of which have been ordered by the Indian Air Force and it has also been exported to the Indonesian Navy. This will take care of most of your CIWS woes.
Also, does it have a radar to be able to provide a firing solution for the SM-6? Are you getting the same radar Royal Navy is getting for their Type 31?
