There’s only 2 verses in the Quran about Ahlul Bayt - one is talking about the wives ( 33:30-33 ) and the other one is where Allah tells us to show respect to the family of the prophet ( 42:23 )

To a certain extent. As Shamsi said they try to digress and if you allow them to do that then they succeeded in using debate tactics on you and they might Fool the masses or even some of them. Thus you cannot allow the opponent to digress except when you know that you can make the subtle digression into a big humiliation for the opponent.
