My son bought a new build in Flagstaff several years ago and due to a job transfer he sold that home for more the twice the amount of what he paid. @Moon Shine Canadians can't just move there and get a job like Americans coming from another state. I love living in Arizona, however, they're making a huge mistake by taking up massive city block after city block with these huge apartment complexes. Each apartment represents multiple people living on top of people, and each one of those people have a car. Our freeways are going to look like Southern California very soon, and trust me, you won't be happy when were living in gridlock as you try and navigate yourself around town.
yup, I'll drive way out of my way to avoid going through Phoenix, unless it is a reason to do so, like medical appt., to miss the freeways, there are alternative routes that are "very lonely" when it comes to traffic!
@Moon Shine public transit would be a good idea if made cheap efficient and above all safe. I rode light rail in Sacto region for many years, at first it was all of the above, but over time it devolved and was less so in all categories. They had transit police who threw free loaders off the train in the middle of nowhere at first, but later city officials found that "cruel on the homeless" and then folks slowly stopped riding and found other means, like carpools to get to and from work. The fairs had to increase due to lower ridership and this spiral continued. I'm far from there now and don't use it but have not found any reports on its status. Same with BART, I used it when brand new, it was great, but now it is deemed unsafe by many folks, like the NY subway system. For the reasons stated above, homeless and criminals using it.
Arizona is also the number #1 spot for child trafficking in the USA. Our schools are garbage. This video is depicting just the rich Scottsdale areas. Downtown is where everyone congregates from all over the valley and it’s the hotspot for angry over hot people.
Me and my friends were out there in November for the Spartan Race Event in Phoenix. Coming from Los Angeles I was amazed at how clean and pretty the freeways were. I want to move there so bad and don't worry I'm bringing any of the L.A. BS with me either.
Phoenix is designed and built the way it is to help boost the most dominant industry in the region- real estate. Economic developers know that out-of-towners frequent Arizona especially during the winter months and they want those tourists to transition into residents after they see how “nice” and “clean” everything looks.
Good one Jeff. Maybe too good! If you get my drift. One reason for all the things you say positive about our lovely state is the population density is very low, if you get away from the two major population centers of Phoenix and Tucson. And those two places are where the negatives like crime are centered, otherwise yes, if you like the outdoors, it's your place. I paint landscapes en plein air (outdoors) and that's a major reason I'm living here now. Also, we have very little in the way of natural disasters, no quakes, little rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, and no snow unless you seek it out, but rarely "ice ages" like in the east, and your car won't float away in a rainstorm, like in CA now, unless you are stupid in a flash flooded area. And it will cost you big bucks to get rescued; so don't be that stupid guy or gal and drive into what looks like a "little puddle", in your Prius! Get a big truck, first thing, if you move here! ;D But the critters, ah yes, the Crittttttttttters!! You gotta love creepy crawlies, if you move here!! We have millions of snakes, scorpions, and billions of killer bees, so be careful and aware, especially on those picturesque hikes. Put down the selfie stick and phone and look where you put your feet, and which tree you walk under. And bring water, the number one reason for deaths of AZ tourists is from dehydration; it creeps up fast and will kill you in a few hours. Otherwise, it's one of the best places to live, not only in the USA, but the whole planet!! Right Jeff? LOL ;D
Sky Harbor USED TO BE a convenient airport. Then they built the new terminals and closed terminal 2. Terminal 2 was awesome whereas terminal 3 (and perhaps terminal 4 - I haven't experienced it) is a total cluster-f*** s***-show. Just to get from the gate to baggage claim takes 10-15 minutes and you have to go up and down multiple elevators or escalators. Dropping someone off at terminal 3 is just as bad as the inside of terminal 3 itself. There are multiple pedestrian overpasses and they block visibility of signage that directs you which lanes are needed for each airline.
Been a New Englander all my life but made it out to San Diego a few years ago then had to move back due to family. Now that I will be 40 next year i have been working with a realtor about possibly moving out to either AZ, NM, UT or NV. I will always love the 4 seasons here in New England but I loved the dry heat out west in Southern California.
I'll be visiting AZ very soon, Sedona for the last week of Feb (including a couple days around the Grand Canyon), and then spending the month of March in Tucson. Personally , from watching your videos and others, I think I'd prefer it the other way around. But one of the other people I'll be traveling with decided this would be best, she has been there before. And she prefers a social life, whereas I prefer nature. I'm sure it'll be great anyway. I will watch more videos about Tucson to find more things to fill my time with things I enjoy.
If you are a Democrat move elsewhere. Some of us moved here from California and we know the destruction, violence Democrats bring to every state they control.
My little sis just moved to Prescott from horrible San Diego and I am so looking forward to visiting her! May need to find some horse property there…..Central Oregon is losing me.
@@leticiaurbach1720 got too big, merged with LA. where I grew up in the 50's and 60's, San Diego was wonderful then, its own city, and a nice zoo, the reason for our family to visit there every once in a while. Even L.A. was nice then, when we mostly had republican mayors and governors, in the same time period. Now it is all falling to crap, figuratively and literally, with all the homelessness and illegals infesting the whole damn state. AZ is not immune from that happening here too, all it takes is too many democrats living here, and we, and any place will get all F'd up!
@@leticiaurbach1720 I like San Diego but I don’t have to live and try to run a business like my sister did. She had employees get hit and nose broken, she had a knife pulled on her and the homeless used their business space as a bathroom with urine, feces and drug paraphernalia needing to be cleaned up daily. It had deteriorated badly in the past 2 and 1/2 years.
I've lived in Tucson 40 years , hate it . Would love to move up north in the state , smaller town . Our town starting to look like Cali with the homeless cities
And why are there those homeless cities? Democrats. Tucson has gone almost completely Democrat and there lack of caring for the city’s future well being is evident.
I’m Southern and will tell you that if you are from the SE part of the country or even the Midwest, you will NOT find the people here friendly. Everything else in this video I agree with though.

I started to first motions on my moving back to AZ in late August, and experienced some set backs that really challenged my decision ($2,000 worth of car repairs). However, I am back on board and should be there the first week in Dec 2023. However, I do have some concerns about extremely high electric bills, currently it is Oct 21st, and its 98 degrees in Tempe? I know I will have to really live humbly when there this time or else things can get out of hand fast financially.

Speaking of killer bees, two stories: first, a few years ago a guy was found dead, hanging from a rope he'd used to rock climb in Madera canyon, south of Tucson, he had over 300 stings in him. Another guy, a golfer was found dead a few feet from a water hazard on a golf course he had been playing, he tried to get away from the bees, but did not make it to the water!
from someone who has lived here almost 20 years- the heat in the summer is getting worse. more days over 110 than summers before. im finally moving away before this next summer hits. also the population growing so quickly and a massive lack of public transportation infrastructure causes lots of traffic and congestion that i'll be glad to get away from
what is your opinion for someone that has bad arthritis , fibromyalgia, and asthma regarding the weather/climate/heat/oxygen levels/higher altitude? i've always heard that the dry heat there is good for arthritis/fibromyalgia people but i'm not sure about the asthma/allergy issue being that there is a lot of dust in the air. also, at least the climate is mostly stable there, which is great, coming from a person living with bi-polar weather conditions (texas), which wreaks havoc on all my health conditions because of the back and forth weather, as soon as i get adjusted, another weather change, back to square one. thanks.
As you know big cities have the nice restaurants, some on the top of big buildings with bars and such, pretty nice but a cocktail, not that special, will cost you 14 dollars. That's twice now than what it was two years ago by the way, Thanks again, old Joe!! LOL
Water is getting scarce. Maniacal drivers from out of state especially from CALIFORNIA. People that left blue states continue to vote blue even though Arizona has traditionally been a red state. We are now considered purple although I think in some ways we've gone blue.
What do you want to know? It's nice, clean, and has pretty affordable housing, and it's far (14 miles) from downtown Tucson, which is a good thing. The poor guy did not stand a chance against a two-ton squad car. LOL ;D

I'm moving from California asap just have a few loose ends to tie up. Perfect place to move my family. I'm a pest control professional. We been at this address in California for 28 years our neighbor that just moved in is making our lives miserable and he won a restraining order me because I was fed up with his dis respect towards my family. Now he's using the law as a weapon towards me. I have to have body cameras for my protection every time I come out his door is 7 feet away from my door. How do I live. He doesn't like that we are always happy. Going to start planing in July.
I currently live in Southern California, I’m strongly debating between moving to Arizona or Texas. Arizona to me has better weather, but Texas has the bigger economy. Tough choice.
same here bud. i was thinking HARD about TX but yes, property taxes, Homeowners Insurance...these add up quick onto the monthly mortgage payment. Went to PHX last weekend with my wife and the National Parks RIGHT outside of PHX did it for us. TX is flat and the outdoors is important to me --- and yes I'd rather have 110 dry then 105 humid As F lol Austin/Houston/San Antonio summers are horrible...but Dallas isnt bad --- and yes Dallas would have a bigger economy. Make sure to calculate Homeowners Insurance and property taxes into the mortgage equation --- 450k in PHX is about the same as 350k in TX.

Absolutely agree
@Moon Shine yup, the California sprawl model that is, and "megalopolis" they call it. As Yoda might say! ;D
Lived in LA many years. Not all of us are Commies haha! Agree (plus everyone here loves Van Halen and the Doors) guess where THEY came from 😛
Phoenix is designed and built the way it is to help boost the most dominant industry in the region- real estate. Economic developers know that out-of-towners frequent Arizona especially during the winter months and they want those tourists to transition into residents after they see how “nice” and “clean” everything looks.
@@jayteesgear yes, and collector muscle cars from the 60's!! I have four, so far, and I tell my wife they are "investments", which there are! ;D LOL
Get a big truck, first thing, if you move here! ;D
But the critters, ah yes, the Crittttttttttters!! Right Jeff? LOL ;D
Thank you so much for all of the information in this video! I've been here about 5 years and learned a lot!!
There are multiple pedestrian overpasses and they block visibility of signage that directs you which lanes are needed for each airline.
will be moving here in about 9 months, can't wait, so excited, big change from living in NW MN and the brutal winters
Better than 9 Months of rain 🌧
Agreed. I use to live in Seattle. 9 months of gray gloomy, drizzly skies. I'll take 4 months frying pan weather to get the other 8 of nice.
Agree 100 percent Live in Seattle now hopefully one day I'll be back in Arizona Seattle sucks along with the weather the people and the politics.
@@ralphjohnson3202 All the reasons that we left. I hope you get back to Arizona soon Ralph! Have a great day sir.
Thanks!
It’s the LA of AZ, mosh pit of everyone from everywhere in phx. Traffic everyday, good areas and bad areas.
Just bought a house with 21/3 fenced acres in Golden Valley for $112,000. 25 min. from the Colorado river.
Nice score!!
That’s a good situation - was it a foreclosure?
Not a foreclosure, reg. Price
Another great video! Well done!!!
Thank you for the video.
Plenty of both in MANY AZ areas!
Why dont you like San Diego?
Prescott is boring
@@jess97724 I like boring. Love my farm life. 😉
Thanks for all your videos. Like our home of Havasu. Not happy with AZ political turn. Fight for what you believe in.
What is it like living in lake Havasu? Are you happy do you feel safe?
Thank you for all the information you provide. I have been exploring Arizona for the last six months. Its a great state.
I live in AZ... don't move here unless you are very sure of the water supply to your home... Many are going dry... So don't be caught off guard...
It’s been a huge culture shock and after 22 years I’m still not used to the aloof, passive aggressive to downright rude behavior of the people here. Bring your own tribe if you’re moving here. Everything else in this video I agree with though.
I’m from AL, GA, LA area (lived in all) and not sure what KC refers to. Most folks in the Deep South are kind and hospitable. Wisconsen’ers are usually super good peeps in my experience. If KC is Kansas City, I’ve never been.
I'm currently looking forward to moving Arizona this video was very helpful
I live AZ but with kids, education system here is literally like 44/50
Great video 👍 Thanks! 🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
Great Video & Info ! Thanks
I would consider moving to AZ from UK even as a holiday home to start of with, seems a really nice place to live. Start thinking like a Pioneer's who went before you Arizona is a blank canvas to me it has so much potential.
Bought ground in sun valley near Holbrook and look forward to retiring there next year .
good, yup, lots of dirt-cheap dirt here, water can be an issue though, if in the boonies!
@@ronschlorff7089 Yes sir . The place has water and electricity on site . Moving from the rain forest and jungle of WV to open desert, will be an adventure .
@@davidarms5331 never thought of WV as a jungle, only been there a few times, when stationed near D.C. in Army, years ago. Went to visit some historic sites like Harpers Ferry, and stuff. But the desert is an "adventure". Not much "rain forest" here, so bring lots of water, or your bones will be found, bleached out, along a lonely trial! Good luck and welcome! LOL :D
Good evening Jeff
Good evening! Beautiful evening out here in Phoenix Metro!
Lived in AZ from 1984 to 2022. Left for the mountains of north Georgia. Loved AZ for the first 25 or so years, but hate that it's becoming Californicated. So relieved to be outta there! And good luck with the water situation when no one is willing to conserve.
That last part is not true, people everywhere there are conserving water! especially through Xeriscaping!
I could NEVER live in Georgia, I’m staying out west thank you very much
Az is incredible.....I live in Texas and there is no relief from the humid heat 9 months of the year.
Another great video Jeff! We moved to Arizona for many of the reasons that you pointed out in this video. We're loving it here! Go Cardinals!, or ummm, maybe better luck next year😉. Take care sir and looking forward to your next video.
Few times I have been there I have nothing but great things to say. Just to hot for me.
MAN ! You're videos are just getting better and better !
So, as far as food... Are there any decent seafood restaurants in the Phoenix area you recommend ?
New subscriber this list is helpful and informative as a potential new resident of Arizona in the future
Like these kinds of videos. But we need an honest take on the water situation in AZ.
From what research is saying, water shortages are happening in every Phoenix community. I was strongly considering moving back(I’m from there), but now I have to reconsider.
The water situation seems to be quite nasty. New construction was halted recently due to the inability to guarantee water in the Phoenix area.
From someone that's lived in beautiful Arizona for his whole life here are my top places to move. Golden valley, Douglas, and Arizona city, don't forget beautiful san luis and breathtaking elloy Arizona high paying low rent and safe with the best schools. They will welcome you with open arms. See you soon neighbor
What are the roads like there? Main highways and artillery streets? In Portland metro there is little to no road maintenance. Potholes and unkept streets/sidewalks make it unenjoyable to walk or drive. Thanks.
Montana to Arizona! currently your governor and the border is a No Go for most people. Get you act together. Protect your border, protect your people.
There's more dems in the US than repubs. Sorry to inform you
Thank you
Lived in AZ from 1980-1995, then again 2006-2011….live in TN now, LOVE it here…AZ is too crowded, too hot…the West’s most Mid-Western town…keep it
exactly, i lived here all my life and it sucks now with all the people moving in.
homes are too damn expensive right when i was finally ready to start buying one
traffic is ass now like a mini/medium version of the crap california goes through
smog is worse now with all the damn cars.
TN is a Sht hole

I love living in Arizona
summer last 6 months in Phoenix
thanks, I love that kind of talk, and also mention the killer bees love the hot summers here too! ;D LOL
I love AZ so much that I bought a small lot close to LHC, talk about hot! But it is a cute fun area ❤
from someone who has lived here almost 20 years- the heat in the summer is getting worse. more days over 110 than summers before. im finally moving away before this next summer hits. also the population growing so quickly and a massive lack of public transportation infrastructure causes lots of traffic and congestion that i'll be glad to get away from
Don't come east, it's not any better
what is your opinion for someone that has bad arthritis , fibromyalgia, and asthma regarding the weather/climate/heat/oxygen levels/higher altitude? i've always heard that the dry heat there is good for arthritis/fibromyalgia people but i'm not sure about the asthma/allergy issue being that there is a lot of dust in the air. also, at least the climate is mostly stable there, which is great, coming from a person living with bi-polar weather conditions (texas), which wreaks havoc on all my health conditions because of the back and forth weather, as soon as i get adjusted, another weather change, back to square one. thanks.
Don’t mind the drought and water shortage because to many people keep moving here.
I love living here, but your section on food would not have helped me decide. All you showed was fast food chain restaurants.
As you know big cities have the nice restaurants, some on the top of big buildings with bars and such, pretty nice but a cocktail, not that special, will cost you 14 dollars. That's twice now than what it was two years ago by the way, Thanks again, old Joe!! LOL
You have any videos on kingman I'm moving there
Is Bullhead City better to live than Kingman?
@@leticiaurbach1720 I think Bullhead is closer to Vegas, so yes! ;D

I love your channel. I'm kinda new here and I would love it if you could do a video about Marana :)
What do you want to know? It's nice, clean, and has pretty affordable housing, and it's far (14 miles) from downtown Tucson, which is a good thing. Claim to fame was, several years ago, a local Sheriff deputy there ran down an illegal alien who was brandishing some kind of weapon in public. The poor guy did not stand a chance against a two-ton squad car. LOL ;D
There's nothing special about Marana, just a small dusty town.
Moved from Kansas to Phoenix when I was a kid, that's where I developed my palate for fine Mexican food, we just didn't have Taco Bells in KC.

Hi I was born in ARIZONA.
Where are the craftsman type homes that are shown in this video located? They are beautiful.
Is there a water shortage there and if so how serious?
Will someone PLEASE let me know where the rock water slide place is at 7:34? 🙏
@Moon Shine Literally 100% correct what this guy said lol
Las Vegas?
