  • James O'Brien explains why to choose between Kemi Badenoch and Robert Jenrick would be like 'the choice between a rock and a hard place.'
    It comes as Mr Cleverly received the fewest votes in Wednesday's contest in the Tory leadership race, despite storming into the lead on Tuesday.
    Now, the party's members will now choose between Badenoch and Jenrick to decide the leader of the opposition.
    These results will undoubtedly come as a shock after James Cleverly shot into the lead in Tuesday's vote.
    Conservative Party members now have a few weeks to decide on their preferred candidate, with the leadership results to be announced on November 2.

    It’s sad to see a political party with 150 years of history unable to produce candidates suitable for the job.😢 Robert JENRICK is still under investigation for unlawful £one billion housing contract given to a friend. He had admitted that the contract was unlawful and was forced to come clean by admitting he has taken BROWN ENVELOPE. The investigation still going on. THE ROLE OF LAW, ACCOUNTABILITY, DEMOCRACY AND PROSPERITY GOES HAND IN HAND.

    I'm sure traditional 'one-nation' conservatives must realise that the Conservative Party have now become unelectable. The first question is: is that for a decade or forever? So the second question is whether the LibDems can step up to be a credible and powerful opposition and if so, can the LibDems effectively answer question 1?

    • @Risingtide930
      @Risingtide930 5 годин тому

    The Conservative problem is the same as the Labour one - they are confused about who their voters are. Traditionally the political parties were opposed on economic reasons, now it is more of a cultural split. Liberal Conservatives are probably more comfortable with Labour/Lib Dems and part of the working class are socially conservative and likely to fit better with a Conservative party. Both parties need to decide who they are looking to represent and build coherent policies for voters to pick between.

    Some comments are hypocritical and ignorant. Labour politicians are cut from the same cloth. Truest statement made by O' Brien is that he has been radicalised to the extend he is unable to debate with anyone who doesn't believe in his extremism.

    Had I been aware of the 40/1 odds against the elimination of the Clever one (thought he was, but wasn't), then I might well have broken my life-long pledge of gambling-avoidance. Given that the compost bin of left-overs (in food terms only) of the Tory Party probably represent the most privileged affluent constituencies, I would have thought it fairly obvious that those MP's would be rampant right-wingers/nutters and therefore odds-on to junk poor old James (henceforth known in this household as "Jim Jettison"). If folks thought the Labour Party had lost its marbles choosing Jeremy Corbyn, they need to reflect on the many madness cycles the Tories have peddled since election in 2010. Still fawning over Thatcher's "achievements" as if the catalogue of disasters she wrote into our history books was some kind of elixir of guaranteed electoral success, there's little wonder this shower of odious dung-heaps find themselves wandering around in Dreamland. Over to the party faithful membership - they'll know what works.........break out the bone china tea cups & buns.

  • @SamoIsKing
    @SamoIsKing 5 годин тому

    Both will be exposed badly - especially during PMQ’s - and I dont see either leading them into the GE. Badenoch would probably be Starmers best bet, she is already woefully out of her depth, he’d make mincemeat out of her.

      Starmer couldn't make mince meat out a burger. He's clueless. Too busy telling lies about his father, his uncle, his policies. He won't last to the GE.

    So, it’s either Pinky or Percy left over after the horse trading influenced by the Z’s. This party is now known as the silly party and will be out of power for a long while, which gives most of us relief. If either wins the Tory leadership, then Labour will have to declare it as a gift. Starmer probably can’t get over his luck, on how everything has been handed down as a gift.

    Question: "Why I am not exited about the conservative leadership battle" I dont care what happens to the conservative Party other than they dissapear into into obscurity. I have voted conservative once in my lifetime Never again. Labour or the Lib Dems do not .give me any confidence. Neo-Liberalism is rife. The only solution is, as I see it is proportional representation. Maybe then we will have a government that represents the people rather than vested interests.
