- San Pancho is not the next Tulum, but it's nice to see the town busy after a slow 2020. I surf with my good friend AL, the hit the mercado in town. Astrid makes a wooden box to house our routers, and I dance around like a complete goon while wearing aeration shoes for the lawn.

Who is Shaun? 🤷♂️
In the 90’s Shaun was one the top groms (young surfers) in the nation. An aggressive surfer with countless contest wins, he earned a place on the prestigious N.S.S.A National Team in 1994. After enjoying years of sponsorships and travel, he took to college instead of the professional surf tour. A lifelong (ask him about the missing decade!) surfer, Shaun is something of a renaissance man whose passion for learning earned him jobs (not careers!) in some of the world’s most interesting fields… from journalism to wine sales to fashion and now back to writing ("Another Gringo in Paradise" due out Early 2022).
Along with his multitalented, fashion designer wife (and the economic force behind them!) Shaun and Astrid left New York City to live and thrive in the quaint fishing village of San Francisco, Nayarit aka San Pancho! This channel is the fulfillment of that move, and a living record of their life in Mexico.
(In full disclosure, I wrote all of that so it would seem more "official")
I am hooked on your channel. Like savoring chocolate, I look forward to each bite. Great content, editing, fun, music selection, quirkiness, info and imagery. I wish all vlogs were fine this well. Bravo and keep it up!

@@roundpaws How is the planning going? Do you have a timeline yet? That's exciting (and brave!). I hope it wasn't that bad of a break up, but it sounds like youre moving forward :)
@@ShauninParadise my timeline is hopefully late fall - at least for a trial run. I wish it was San Pancho but more likely Mazatlan as it is more affordable, and can manage without a car. It has surf and I think because I am solo, less chance of feeling isolated. I’m working on gathering a network of contacts there and maybe an acquaintance to rent with, at least initially.
San Pancho has a vey special place in my heart. I have friends in the nearby area so hopefully I will visit.
Are breakups ever good?!🥴. It was amicable but devastating nevertheless. I’m looking forward to lavishing all my affection on my next dog 😉.
@@roundpaws I like that plan!!! I moved to Nyc more than once because I was without car. I hear Mazatlan is fantastic! We will have to visit someday :)

Why does everyone leave for 6 months?
Most are retired but still have families up north. Many still come on a 180 day tourist visa. Also, many are old and dont like the hot summer weather 🌧

What are your internet options at home and how fast and reliable?
We use StarGo for satellite. Reliable with awful speeds. My videos take about 2-4 hours to upload. Fingers crossed fios is coming here soon
