Thank you Melissa Hoover, for sharing this set so that we all can see it. Like a lot of others, I never knew this existed. How great that Mattel was sending Barbie to college in 1964! And thanks so much as always, Rachel and Christopher (and Paul the cameraman) for putting up this terrific video! I'm so glad to be a part of this world.
Big shoutout to Melissa Hoover for sharing such a gem with us all! It's indeed impressive that Mattel was ahead of the curve, sending Barbie to college back in 1964. And we're so grateful for your kind words and support. It's awesome to have you in this wonderful doll community! 🌟💕
The Barbie dorm is exquisite! I remember those wonderful sets - to get to play with it must be a dream come true! Christopher, LOVE your hair. I don't think I've ever seen it down, and wow! It is beautiful!
Isn't the Barbie dorm just a nostalgic treasure? Playing with those sets truly feels like a trip down memory lane! And thanks for the compliment on Christopher's hair - it's always fun to switch things up and showcase a new look. 😊🌟💇♂️
You've got it, Barbie really did shoot for the stars! 🌠 It's amazing to see how well-preserved this set is, right? Barbie's journey from college to outer space is all kinds of inspiring. Thanks for being an out-of-this-world member of our VDC community!
It was fun to watch this. I had the original Barbie house, and that car you showed, along with several of the first dolls. My Nana made me feel like I should send it to a cousin. Who I found out later that being an only child, she had so much that she didn’t care about getting “ used toys” even though I kept them in outstanding condition. So I wish I could have kept them. But was made to feel guilty if I didn’t send them. What beautiful gifts you were both sent. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely, it's great to hear you enjoyed the video! The original Barbie house and dolls are classics for a reason. It's tough parting with those treasures, but I hope we can continue to bring back some of those good memories for you! 😊
We never had these over here in the U.K.,only the dolls and the outfits.I believe later the cars etc came out,but I was not doll shopping then as I was concentrating on school work. But interesting to see none the less 🥰
It's intriguing how different regions had variations in availability for toys and collectibles. While you might have missed out on some items during your school days, it's wonderful that you can explore and appreciate them now. Thanks for sharing a bit of your doll history from the U.K. perspective. Always a delight to learn more about how these treasures were experienced around the world! 🌍🎀🥰
Stunning! So beautiful Christopher and Rachel. Thank you so much for sharing with us the unboxing and the outstanding display. It looks brand new. Melissa thank you for gifting these treasures to Rachel and Christopher, they have done an outstanding job bringing everything to life, for all of us to enjoy. I plan to watch this video at least 4 or 5 more times!
This set is so precious. Christopher as always described things so eloquently and in such delicious detail. You both deserve all the cards and gifts for all that you do for the doll community. Thanks Rachel for sharing this treasure from 1964 the year I was born!☺️💕
It's heartwarming to hear your appreciation! Christopher truly has a way with words, doesn't he? And knowing the set is from the year you were born adds such a sweet personal connection. It's always a joy to share these treasures and stories with fellow doll enthusiasts. Thank you for being part of our wonderful doll community and for celebrating these moments with us! 😊💖🎀

Who knows, maybe one day you'll join a team as passionate about dolls as our VDC and Turn of the Century Doll Shop Team! 😊💖
You are my heart literally. When you said that was her childhood and the way that you described it, a simpler time, but then also added that the timeline of that period might not have been as simple or easy for everyone was so well stated by you. My mother being African American and growing up in a segregated environment was at odds at what I view Barbie's campus to be like. Yet, I can't help but love this era of Barbie. Such a fantasy for so many who just had a very different reality, but escaped through Barbie.
Oh, thank you so much for sharing that heartfelt perspective! 💖 It's incredible how dolls, especially icons like Barbie, can be a source of both nostalgia and reflection on past eras. We truly believe in celebrating the beauty of all stories and backgrounds. Sending a big hug to you and your mother from the VDC Team! And always remember, the magic of our doll community is because of members like you. Keep shining! 🌟 - Rachel

Rachel, It was so sweet of Melissa Hoover to give You and Christopher these beautiful Barbie Dorm💖💖, elegant piano💖💖, cool Austin Healey Car🧡🧡🧡 and Accessories💖💖💖💖💖!!! I had a 1981 electric Barbie Piano🎹 and when I brought Barbie Electronic Piano to my Childhood Friend Vicky's house, her Dad could not stop playing with it, 😁😁!!! However, that 1964 Barbie Piano looks more elegant than the 1981 Barbie Electronic Piano🤗🤗💖💖💖💖💖!!! I was wondering, can you still play music on the 1964 piano still play music🤔🤔? And I so LOVE that Barbie goes to College plays et!!! The Dorm looks so Brady Bunch with the orange floral patterns on the beds🧡🧡🧡, seating, and curtains!! I really hope you can get the piano working, I've always wanted to hear it play. Can't believe the Barbie Goes To College playset, it's really wonderful to see it all set up like this, and I especially love seeing it staged with the appropriate dolls. Also, Christopher's hair is _legendary._
Right? Christopher's hair truly has a fan base of its own! 😄 We're crossing our fingers to get that piano serenading us soon. Oh, that sounds absolutely delightful! It's so cool to hear that the Dairy Science students get hands-on experience and the community gets to enjoy the delicious result. Freshly made ice cream right from the university? That's a win-win! Makes me wish I could swing by for a scoop (or two). Enjoy those sweet treats! 😊🍦
I didn't know that set, it's beautiful and such in great shape. Christopher brought life to the set with "students" and so many accessories. The cute Ken face with ice cream, reminds me of Archie comics. Thank you Mellissa, so many fans across the globe can now enjoy this beautiful set. (Great hair Christopher!) Thank you Rachel for another amazing video!

Haha, you're right! Barbie's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts. 😄 As for the sorority, there isn't an official record of Barbie being in a specific sorority. However, there have been dolls and playsets over the years that may hint at college or sorority life. It's always fun to imagine the many adventures Barbie might've had during her college days! Thanks for being such a doll and diving deep into Barbie lore with us. Stay fabulous! ✨💖 - Rachel
After giving it more thought, I suppose Barbie is in whatever sorority Barbara the original muse and her mother belonged to. Barbara would've been legacy...so I suppose Barbie would've been a legacy member also to that same sorority.😀 Interesting what you read and see in dated Barbie line products. In the board game I believe she attends a sorority or fraternity party with Ken or a random date. I might look there at that game again.

We're grateful to Melissa for sharing and to fans like you who make this journey so rewarding. Thanks for tuning in! 😊🌟
OMG on eBay this set of Barbie Goes to College is $500!
Was Barbie in a sorority? Does anyone know what her sorority name was? It was 4 years ago I realized her official surname was Roberts.😅
🥰👍👏
You are Spoiled 😂😅😊❣️❣️❣️😊
