I’m on a note 20 ultra & I am looking forward to getting this phone but the more disappointing news I hear the more I’m inclined to get the s24 ultra

That's exactly what I did last month. Got a great deal where the 512G version was actually cheaper than the 256G model so I jumped on it.
I'd strongly advise you to stay on the S line ultra. Samsung Folding phone aren't mature enough yet and you can feel samsung is holding back. The Ultra still the king phone from Samsung. I had the S23u and switched mid year to the fold 5. I kept it 3 months and regretted massively the ultra premium feel and maturity. I bought back the s23u and now rocking the s24u. The S ultra is still the best in ABSOLUTELY everything except for the multitasking part... I believe we will see the best of Samsung foldable starting from 2025
I think Samsung want other companies to be ahead of them. Because if they really lock down the foldable market at such an early stage other companies wouldn't want to jump in. Samsung is slacking on purpose for other companies to flourish. That will allow them to sell more folding displays to other companies. Thats my theory

That makes sense. If Samsung is the only manufacturer moving units, then they'd be racing against nobody and eating the cost of making these phones while barely seeing any return(since they don't sell as much as it is.) Selling displays to other companies and saving money with recycled designs is likely helping them pay for the last 3 iterations of folding phones that barely even cracked overall market.

We are kind of stuck since we can't get any of those awesome Chinese foldable in the US. It's samsang or pixel now that oneplus is done for now
I love my s24 ultra so I'm keeping that as its an amazing regular smartphone but iv given up on Samsung folds. Got my vivo x fold 3 pro coming monday, can't wait
The camera, to me, is good and much better than any Apple phone camera. So, I don't see the issue.
The camera is actually underrated, no cap….. but for $1,800 we need to have an s24Ultra quality camera on the Fold 6, along with a 5200 MAh battery.
I agree we should get better cameras for the price. But I have a friend who has a iPhone 15 and she is blown away with my camera on the ZF5 so that's pretty impressive. Overall solid camera.
fair enough, but the host makes it sound like it's the worst and better than any Apple phone now or in the past. When I take pics with it, Apple fans mouth drop over. They seemed confused and asked what type of phone was in my hand. Lol. Maybe up to 80 will be enough for me

All I can say is disappointing I have a note 10 plus that just crapped out on me I'm using the S21 Ultra it's pretty good but what I'm hearing about the fold 6 doesn't sound too interesting I might wait for the s25 ultra.
Completely unrelated to the fold 6 (not interested, I love my ice blue fold 5) but I finally sold my Flip 5 to go BACK to the beautiful magenta Razr+ and I am SO happy! I've been missing the Razr ever since I returned it last year to get the Flip 5 and some watched cause Samsung was having a great deal but I regretted swapping out the flippables. Now that I have my Razr back thanks to that great Amazon deal I'll have to see how long it can keep me away from my Fold 5 or if I'll eventually go back to it
I struggle with the time it takes for the major software releases on Samsung devices. Unless you have the newest model it can take 6 to 8 months after a major release of android to find It's way to your device. Since phone makers are increasingly just enhancing software and only very incrementally upgrading hardware it seems that getting the most current software features out to all supported devices should be the focus. I guess pixel or iPhone would be the 2 best choices for me.
I will stay with my Z Fold 5 then I'll wait until few more years and see.
This Mercedes-Benz designer hasn't done much for Samsung imo.
This is just my opinion but I don't think Samsung want's to make the galaxy z fold 6 there top selling phone cuz they make the majority of there money on the galaxy s line have u noticed all the top specs is on the s line and not the other phone's I'm just saying

I thought that fold6 would be my 1st folding phone. But yeah, now im gonna stick to slab phones and wait for something really new in folding devices.
To think all they would have to do is upgrade the camera and the majority of people would be so happy and upgrade. Such a simple thing, yet Samsung chooses not too.

I think the current Z Fold form factor has reached it's full potential regarding camera sensors and is constraining improvements with the lenses. Samsung will really need to re-think the form of the Z Fold, but they've been trying to avoid this because that would affect the overall price, pushing it up instead of down, while Samsung is trying to make more affordable folding phones. I think those big fans of folding phones, like me, will just need to accept that the phone is not all about having a great camera, but it's much more about having a pocketable tablet. After all, how many tablets do you see with great cameras..? Folding phones are also about having very large screen real estate that you can put in your pocket. Bearing these things in mind, consumers should know that when they buy a folding phone they must accept certain compromises, unfortunately the camera is one of them...

If the Ultra is real, I would assume that's the reason. Otherwise, I may switch to the Pixel Fold 2. I've had the Fold 3-5. Was hoping for a good upgrade on 6.... we'll see what happens.

I think they are purposely doing this just to release a Z fold 6 this year then the Z fold 6 ultra in January will have the better cameras. I'm still going to upgrade from ZF5 to ZF6 then if the ultra comes out next year I will have a better trade in value for the ultra.
I might do the same. It's not a bad idea.

@mrcivicsi20 Yeah, people want Samsung to put all their eggs in one basket. If they did that, they wouldn't have anything new for next year. I'm excited about the slightly wider cover screen and boxier edges. IMO, this alone makes it worth the upgrade.
@user-cr6ki4qs4y absolutely! Totally agree with you. Sometime people forget they are a business company and need to make money too. So of course they will release small but effective upgrades year by year. But I am real excited for the bigger outside screen and slight design change for sure.👍🏼

🤔 That Pixel Fold 2 is starting to seem like the better option everyday we get Samsung news. I know i'm going with the Pixel Fold 2 this year and the OnePlus Open 2 next year. 😏
I still have my Fold4 and have no issues thankfully. That being said with no real feature upgrades it looks like I'm going to hold onto it for a couple more generations that come out.
Imagine that , all that money for a Galaxy Fold and almost no upgrades that matter.

It's a shame that Samsung used to be an innovator and after I moved away from Apple after 9 years Samsung have decided to become Apple in the sense that they basically sell the same phone over and over year after year. Honestly the main thing I want from the Fold6 is a wider cover display and I'd buy it, how tf have they not at least done that when EVERY OTHER foldable has!? I understand Samsung are probably more focused on increasing the durability of the foldables which is something that all foldables are not the best with right now but they need to strike a balance with durability and upgrades and it appears they do not have that rn.
Don't buy and just let them flop in sales. They can use a knock down from their high horse for a change.

We already knew that for months now im done with Samsung i took my main sim card out of the z fold 4 and now my main sim card is in the one plus open and i will have the Google pixel fold 2 as a secondary phone

If you need to take pic's of the moon, then you should pass on a Z6. If not, then it's fine.

@npk4R the fold is like the perfect phone it does everything. The slim design let's you do almost everything one handed.

Its disappointing from samsung i switched from my iPhone x to the galaxy note 10 plus 5g because apple wasn't doing much to justify upgrading anymore not samsung are exactly the same as apple no love in there phones anymore the fold line is supposed to be innervation at its best bust samsung don't want to push it with better upgrades making the fold what we whan from samsung i won't be getting this phone i have waited Patiently to upgrade from my fold 4 and I'm running out of patience with samsung give us something good or nothing at all

I have the Fold 5, and I'm definitely passing on the 6. I'm waiting for the Google Pixel Fold 2 "Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold." Samsung is going to lose a lot of customers switching to other folding devices. There are other folding phones on the market that have much better specs than the Fold 5 and Fold 6. It's a shame that Samsung can't compete with these newr Folding phones.

@Greg. I don't think reddit and youtubers represent 1% of the Z consumers. Most of them are okay with the cameras. I know that because most users buy the flip.
Also, the hardware will be the same. Doesn't mean they can't work the software to get better results.

The sound that comes out of the speakers was enough for the upgrade, not to mention I literally do not have to carry a charger with me anymore. For real! Charge it when I go to bed and after a long day still about 25% left, charged my Samsung Fold 4 at least a couple times a day under same usage. At Least!!

Samsung are disgusting if they want to keep making money they need to listen to what the customers are saying. I got an S24 Ultra when it came out as I was so disappointed with Samsung when they released the Fold 5 and bar it supposedly folding flat there was no change between the fold 4 and 5. They got away with the slim front screen for 5 generations and now they are doing the same with the fold 6. All I can say is watch this space as One Plus Open will bring about a new global device which will have a brilliant spec and will outshine the Fold 6 and the Honor Magic will probably bring out a V3. Both these devices will be higher spec and cheaper. Sounds like I will stick with my S24 Ultra as yet again Samsung are letting people down.
If only the oneplus open has wireless charging i would of bought it. Im going to pass on the z fold 3's 3rd relaunch. The z fold 3 was barely an improvement over thr z fold 2. The z fold 4 was not much of an improvement over a z fold 3. The z fold 4 is basically the same a z fold 5. So the z fold 6 being almost the same as a z fold 5 basically means its a z fold 2 or 3

You can have only 2 of 3! The 3 are: cheaper, faster, better. Samsung is going for cheaper and faster! Cheaper: Releasing the same cameras as previous 3 gens. Even though they swore to never consider cost again! Faster: Releasing Z Fold6 in time for Summer Olympics, as if any of us care!

@ChrisJohannsen I know. There's barely much anything you can do with slabs nowadays, but I have too many gripes with the fold I feel should have been justified already. Like the narrow screen, no s pen functionality on the front, no s pen slot etc.
