    I had terrible plantar in November - early February that wouldn't go away. After trying seemingly everything, once I started doing these three stretches consistently for several weeks I saw immediate improvement. I even completed a 50k in late April and didn't feel a thing! So I came back to convey my sincerest THANK YOU!! (I have even started recommending this video to others who suffer from plantar).
    Thanks again, Joshua

      Wow! Congrats on not only solving your plantar fasciitis issues, but also completing a 50k so soon afterwards!! 👏 Hope you're running strong and healthy this summer 💪

    Excellent video! I have this exact problem with my toe and after researching it a lot, I figured it was from the plantar fascitiis! Thanks for showing these exercises! Will implement them in my daily routine!

    Agree with you 1000% on this. Very true. Had this problem due to cramped fore foot area in shoe. Been doing them sub consciously albeit half heartedly and although these strenchings ease pain a bit I'm not sure if these can be done. Now will do them regularly with whole ❤️. I'm convinced nothing works better than these strenchings. Thank you🇮🇳

    There must be many (too many?) reasons for Plantar Fasciitis (P.F.) Seems every video i see on Ytube has different ideas/advice re: causes & solutions. Many of them make perfect sense, but i'm surprised there are so many variances on this subject, compared to others i've researched before.
    I bike, swim, run for yrs; running mostly 5k-7k in one setting 3x a wk.....no problems (that i remember). Then when trying to increase mileage during past (2017-18) winter volume season, felt a diff in R hip, R gait, & was plenty sore...all over....after the 10k run/jog; usually an hour - 63 mins. Asphalt, little to no elevation differences....is the terrain.
    Eventually, P.F. reared its ugly head. I had switched to Hoka's for more cushion previous to P.F. which made me wonder bout them but again, felt it in R hip, gait first.
    Cut back runs last wk, and nothing this week, less sore, but still sore first thing in the morning.
    Getting p.o.'d about losing fitness, & keeping the weight scale from increasing. (Bike helps a lot but, miss the balance, variety)

      I feel the frustration! We've had lots of success with what we share here if you care to take a look! We have a few other videos on it as well.

    The toe and calf stretch work really well

    I fixed mine by moving away from flexible shoe(NB Zante V3) to a more stiffer shoe (Nike Pegasus 33). After 2 months it's gone.

    How long did it take for your PF to fully heal?
    Also, is it safe to run before the pain fully goes away?

    Great exercises and twisting the knee - boy that helps!

  • @douglasmacdonald9424

    The first exercise , the toe stretch , is exactly the type of exercise / position that Bob and Brad Physios . suggest that you do NOT undertake and should avoid due to the high stress that it places on the PF. There is a good deal of contradictory suggestions on You Tube , and it seems clear to me ( after 2 months of this horrible malady ) that each individual must take their own path , and some therapies work for some folks and not for others... Based on the comments here, these 3 therapy exercises obviously help some people .

    My biggest question with PF is should I keep running? I stopped all together (been about 3 months now) because I don’t want it to get worse and I want it to heal as fast as possible. Either way it is so frustrating sitting on the sidelines waiting. One thing I believed helped so far was using a massager on my calves. My calfs were like baseballs. Now they feel like a smooth, homogeneous muscle rather than two separate muscle groups. It helped the circulation in my feet too.

    Great video Coach Kirk & right on time when I was looking for something like this. I will add this to my daily routine. Can you suggest some more mobility excercise for other muscles to make a complete 30min mobility workout, which I can & should be doing daily. Thanks.

    ive had this for 8 years after the 1st time getting it i got steroid injections and the pain was gone the next day. it started hurting again 3 years later so i had the injections again and the pain went the day. i since had the steroid injections last week in total 3 injections over 8 years in each foot and the pain goes so the pattern is the injections last me for 3 years. do you see any down side to having the injections ? will it cause me any problems later in life?

      i would not recommend shots. They numb de pain,they do not cure the cause! Avoid at all costs. It’s extremely insensitive

    Did you run through it?

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 років тому +3

      Tricky question. Some of the runs definitely had to be made shorter in a bigger effort to heal the area.

    I`ve been following this particular plantar fasciitis treatment , Sαnzoka Mula (Go ogle it) for a couple of days and I am glad that it has treated the discomfort. I can in fact walk and jog effortlessly, and I`m positive by the end of the week I will be able to return to my soccer exercise. I reckon that my coach is mistaken about saying that it is not possible to relieve plantar fasciitis within days..

    What is plantar fasciitis?

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 років тому

      An inflammation of a thick band of tissue that connects the heel bone to the toes.

  • @kennethwinther1487

    How much training of the exercises and actual running do you recommend vs giving it fully rest to heal?

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  6 років тому

      Good question. Use pain as your guide. If you have to shorten your runs and spend more time on healing and therapy due to pain, by all means do it. These exercises shouldn't make things worse.

    There are a few suggestions for cures for plantar fasciitis
    Make sure you rest your feet
    Consider Wearing supportive footwear
    Use ice on your heel
    Take ibuprofen or another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to reduce pain and inflammation
    Wear night splints
    Do stretching and strengthening exercises.
    (I discovered these and the reasons they work on Rohon foot care website )
