2:12 Fun fact about shinies that most people might already know: In generation II, where they were introduced, the IV's determined if a pokemon was shiny. Therefore, a shiny actually was better than a decent amount of Pokemon in the same species, so that's fun!
Wanna add something to that. Unown's letter was also determined by its IVs. The only possible Shiny Unown in Gen 2? I and V. I am not kidding.
@@IAmMissingnoMaster Indeed. That would kind of be their way of hinting at it, I suppose. That means that a shiny I or shiny V Unown will be stronger than... I don't know the percentage here, but they would be stronger than a decent amount of other Unown
I’d like to add something to this as well.
1) In Generation II, a Pokémon's gender is determined based solely on its physical Attack IV when compared to its gender ratio. A Pokémon is female if its physical Attack IV is less than or equal to its species' gender ratio, otherwise it is male.
2) IV’s determine the type of the move, Hidden power

2:18 the girl that points out the shiny pokemon only having a different colour palette reminds me of Invizimals.
for those who may not know, Invizimals is more or less similar to pokemon: you catch and train different species; evolve them; they even have 4 moves.
except catching them is more interesting because every capture method is rather unique.
and the stats are Life, Stamina, Recovery, Attack and Armor. let me get into detail:
Life: the Invizimal's health points.
Stamina: every attack requires stamina to use.
Recovery: the higher this stat becomes, the faster the Stamina regenerates.
Attack: the Invizimal's power and strength.
Armor: the Invizimal's defense.
i would tell you more, but that's not why i'm here. if you want to know more, you can ask me.
shinies? yes, Invizimals has those too. but with a twist (and sorry if i took so long to get to the point).
in the first game, after defeating someone, Mutant Invizimals start to appear.
Mutant Invizimals are the equivalent of shiny pokemon: they're rare and they have different colours.
the only difference, however, is that Mutant Invizimals have 1 or 2 points extra to a stat, effectively making them more valuable compared to a shiny pokemon (to a certain degree).
As a fan of Dr Mike and Mikey, I enjoy this quite a lot.

Oooo I’d love a video going through other games’ creatures and figuring out their Pokémon types. Like Monster Hunter or Hollow Knight bosses.
Although hollow knight basically everything could be part bug, and MonHun everything could be part dragon lol.

@@ryanager8029 most enemies in HK I'm sure would be pure bug or a bug- dual type, but I think there would be some exceptions. Like Grimm (please don't argue about what you think Grimm is) isn't even a bug, and Fire/Dark or Fire/Ghost are both perfect type combinations for him. Though I'd make him Fire/Dark and the Grimmkin Fire/Ghost. NKG _couuuuuuuuld_ be Fire/Psychic since I'd associate Dreams with the psychic type, but that wouldn't make since as NKG is supposed to be more powerful than TMG and we all know that Dark is immune to psychic so it wouldn't work. Besides, the nightmare Realm would be more of a Dark or ghost-type setting anyway. And we can't forget about Fire.
Another instance of HK characters not being bug-type would be the vessels. I'd say, unless the vessel has some extra defining feature like the Infection or some crystals growing out of/on the shell or whatnot, that all vessels would be pure Dark type. That would probably include the shade/siblings as well since I think everything Void should prolly just be pure Dark but if you waaannnnnnteddddd dual types than the obvious choice for them would be Dark/Ghost cuz they ded. And Dark/Ghost is actually a pretty strong type combo too, so it would make sense since the siblings in the Abyss deal 2 masks of damage.
Ah but excuse my rambling- I love Hollow Knight and have actually thought about this concept myself *at some point in the past,* assigning Pokémon types to my plethora of OCs and other canon Hollow Knight characters. And it's fun to think about!
And ok- I want to add this too- areas and aspects/other non-bug things in HK that can be related to various types. To clarify, areas like Greenpath and the QG would definitely be heavily Grass-type areas, and the mosskin would probably be all bug/grass, save for maybe the volatile and the moss prophet. Those could probably be grass/poison and grass/Psychic or grass/poison as well respectively. -also idk why my phone wants to capitalize certain types but whatever.-
Anyway, speaking of poison type, I think that would be related to or representing the Infection. For.... obvious reasons. Like anything in the infected crossroads would either have the poison type added to them or replace another one.
The crystals in the crystal peak I think would represent either Rock and Psychic or just Rock. Probably the prior as it's told somewhere the crystals sing softly or whatever, and the fact that both crystal-based charms in the game affect Focus. And for the record, I'd also associate SOUL energy with the Psychic type. Not exactly the Ghost type but the Psychic type for lore reasons. Ghost is entirely possible though
Void would be associated with the Dark type, obviously
Fog canyon/royal waterways I think would be primarily Water type, and the jellyfish would definitely be Water/Electric. Charged lumaflies would either be bug/electric or fairy/electric since they smol.
Last but not least I'm considering giving Ghost/The Knight a Dark/Steel typing, since Steel is immune to poison which makes sense for our little guy. I would also go for Steel for reasons of them being hollow- now just be real with me here.
Steel is tough but can be pretty well shaped by fire. Over the course of the game, Ghost becomes stronger as they obtain more powerups, but their hollowness never goes away; nor does their- well, our, ultimately... will to complete their journey, and us the game. You could also make strong bosses like the Traitor Lord bug/fighting to convey how big a threat/opponent they are. And as we know, both bug and fighting are strong to Dark and fighting is strong to both Dark and steel. Luckily, bug is weak to fire. Let Grimmchild help you UwU

Thanks. As a kid, I had the urge to save my items and never use them incase of an emergency. I also never used potions so I would always walk back to the pokemon center even in caves (even after every battle).

If there is one thing I have found constant with all videos of ASPITPIAY, it is that no matter what, Mikey always reviews the first one. Every other meme, regardless of upvotes, is at risk of being skipped. So those of us that make memes don't just want their meme to get a lot of upvotes, they should want their meme to be the bery best like no one ever was.
