For those who don’t know the backstory: This song was made in 1920-1952 to calm down children who witnessed their parents losing their lives And soon. People will adopt kids to take care of them. That’s why the lyrics said “You belong to me” The tallest girl among the Lennon sisters died after the performance (Hope this helps😊)
This song, called “Tonight You Belong To Me” one of the tall children behind the little girl gets stabbed and killed after the performance ends by the man behind the curtains, according to the shadows behind the children, this singing group is called “The Lennon Sisters” If you cannot see, the girl in the back is signaling help. That’s why she kept looking up and basically thats what happened. (This is NOT the full story of what all happened❤) love, 💗 Luna Moon
The Lennon Sisters are a singing group consisting of four siblings: Dianne (born December 1, 1939), Peggy (born April 8, 1941), Kathy (born August 2, 1943), and Janet (born June 15, 1946). They were all born in Los Angeles, California of German/Irish and Mexican ancestry. The original quartet were the eldest four in a family of twelve siblings. In 1992, younger sister Mimi replaced second sister Peggy who retired. Sister Dianne (DeeDee) has also retired. The group were a regular on the weekly television show, The Lawrence Welk Show. The current group line-up, appearing mostly at Welk resorts, consists of Mimi, Janet and Kathy. The quartet debuted on The Lawrence Welk Show on Christmas Eve 1955[1] after their school classmate, Larry Welk, son of Lawrence Welk, brought them to the attention of his father. Mr. Welk was home, sick in bed, when his son brought the sisters in to sing for him. He was so impressed he picked up the phone and booked them for that week's show. Their immediate and immense popularity was due not only to their beautiful harmonies, but to their natural charm and genuine sweetness as well. They were a mainstay on the show until they left to start a career of their own in 1968. The quartet was only three members from 1960 to 1964; oldest sister Dianne (also called Dee Dee) got married, left the group, and then rejoined them. Peggy sang the high harmony part, Kathy the low harmony, and Janet and Dianne sang the middle harmony and lead parts. Their first hit, "Tonight, You Belong to Me" reached to #15 on the charts in 1956. This was followed by their 1961 single, "Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)", (Dot 16255), which turned out to be their highest-charting record. It provided them with the only number #1 single of their career, reaching the top of the charts in Japan. Items such as coloring books, paper dolls and story books were produced with the Lennon sisters. In 1969, the sisters starred in their own variety show, Jimmy Durante Presents the Lennon Sisters Hour. Six weeks before the show premiered on August 12, the sisters were forced to deal with the shooting death of their father, William, by a deranged fan, a stalker named Chet Young, who believed himself to be married to Peggy and that the father stood in the way and had to be eliminated. Lying in wait, Young shot Mr. Lennon in the parking lot of the Marina Del Rey golf course and two months later used the same gun to commit suicide. The sisters discovered an unopened letter having a cutout of Bill, a picture of a gun pointed at his head, and the words "High Noon" (the time of the murder). (Source, Dr. Doreen Orion, I Know You Really Love Me) In the wake of the murder, Jimmy Durante Presents The Lennon Sisters Hour lasted one season before it was cancelled by ABC. In the 1970s, the sisters performed regularly on The Andy Williams Show, and toured with Williams across the country including engagements at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. They also appeared on several game shows as well, such as Family Feud, Tattletales and The Hollywood Squares. From 1994 to 2004, the quartet performed as headliners at the Welk Champagne Theater in the Ozark community of Branson, Missouri. When Peggy retired from singing in 1999, younger sister Mimi took her place, and when Dianne left for a second time in 2001, the act became a trio again for the rest of its run in Branson. While continuing to play tour dates, Kathy and Janet Lennon have branched out into the toy market, designing and selling their "Best Pals" dolls. In addition to the dolls, the sisters have recorded CDs of favorite children songs for their "Best Pals" line. The four original Lennon Sisters wrote their autobiography Same Song, Separate Voices, which was originally published in 1985 and updated a decade later. ~SOURCE: Wikipedia PLEASE NOTE: I divided my uploads among multiple channels, Bookmark this link in your browser for instant access to an index with links to all of John1948's oldies classics. @@Blueberrygtag400it's not real there's a real audio That is not creepy and you need to Type "Tonight you belong to me" which shows the real results of the real audio or you don't see it
These are the Lennon sisters, who sang the song "Tonight you belong to me", which was a big and popular song back in the 1950s. These girls are pretty much still alive. The girl in the bottom is Janet (born as Janet Elizabeth), The girl on the top is Dianne (born as Dianne Barbara), The girl on the right is Peggy (born as Margaret Anne), and the one on the left is Kathy (born as Kathleen Mary). There was also a girl named Mimi, who became part of the Lennon sisters. Their Parents were William and Isabelle. In 1969, William was shot and k!lled by a man who became obsessed with Peggy. Their Mother died in 2005.
The story of Patience and Prudence is about the sister duo who became chart-topping pop stars in the 1950s: Background Patience and Prudence McIntyre were born in Los Angeles in 1942 and 1945, respectively. Their father, Mark McIntyre, was a pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader who worked with Frank Sinatra in the 1940s. The girls studied piano and learned to read music as children. First hit In 1956, at the ages of 11 and 14, Patience and Prudence recorded a demo of "Tonight You Belong to Me" in a Los Angeles studio. The song was a revival of Gene Austin's 1927 hit, and was written by Billy Rose and Lee David. Liberty Records released the song as a single, and it became a million-selling gold record, reaching #4 on the Billboard charts. Second hit The following year, Patience and Prudence released a cover of "Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now", which had first charted for Teresa Brewer in 1952. Career Patience and Prudence released 11 singles during their short recording career. By their late teens, neither girl wanted to be a pop singer anymore.
Real story!!!!: This thing in WW1 was to calm Children to Not be afraid And ww1 Soldiers Make children Hide somewhere to not get Shot Part 2? 1 likes? Pt2 This song is also created from 1967 and before internet Was created They made this song So people can know They are nice ! Part 3? 5 likes (story in replys)
Here is the explaination - This song is not creepy or anything! And some people are holding grudges that they were brutally murdered .. They were not ! But Their youngest sister, Mary Frances, died in 1954 after wandering into the street from the front lawn and being struck by a car.... (Rest In peace) Not related with WW2 this somg were made by The Lennon Sisters , an American vocal group that has been made up, at one time or another, of three or four sisters. The quartet originally consisted of Dianne (aka DeeDee; born Dianne Barbara, December 1, 1939 ; the tallest one ! Still alive), Peggy (born Margaret Anne, April 8, 1941), Kathy (born Kathleen Mary, August 2, 1943), and Janet (born Janet Elizabeth, June 15, 1946).Their first hit, "Tonight, You Belong to Me", reached No. 15 on the charts in 1956. In 1961, their single "Sad Movies (Make Me Cry)" (Dot 16255) reached the top of the charts in Japan, although making it only to No. 56 on Billboard in the United States. It was the lone No. 1 single of their career, turning out to be their all-time highest-charting record. Although much of the group's fame was based on their television appearances, they also recorded frequently for Dot Records in the 1950s and 1960s, producing a dozen albums, featuring their interpretations of well-known standards such as "Among My Souvenirs", "Moon River", and "Twilight Time". Some of their best-known recordings included "Scarlet Ribbons", "Greensleeves", and Schubert's "Ave Maria". A themed LP titled Dominique featured the Lennon Sisters with their musically talented siblings and cousins performing a variety of 1960s folk songs, including "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" and "If I Had My Way (The Sermon of Samson)", as well as the title track. They recorded briefly for Mercury Records after leaving Dot, focusing on more contemporary pop/light-rock fare, such as "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" and "Never My Love". Their four most popular albums were Lawrence Welk Presents The Lennon Sisters: Best-Loved Catholic Hymns (Dot); Christmas with The Lennon Sisters (Dot); Somethin' Stupid (Dot);and Noel, their Christmas album for Mercury Records. Their full-bodied, homestyle choral blend was perfect for such yuletide favorites as "Adeste Fideles", "Christmas Island", "Faith of Our Fathers", "The Star Carol", and "Home for the Holidays". And Their Father was murdered by one of peggys crazy fans ....Hope this clears it up! Not blaming people just a chill guy not replying to replies! IM SORRY BUT can i get a pin ?@@Toca_Pai25
Possible reasons why ppl find it scary: -the pitch of the kids voices making it sound scary -when they say, "but tonight you belong to me" (possibly referring to kidnapping?) Possible reasons why ppl find it calming: -the slow and steady beat -they like the harmony Hope this helped! 💗 (EDIT: YALL STOP BLOWING UP MY PHONE😭😭 I GET UR TRYING TO TELL UR STORIES BUT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION😭🙏)
The reason is because during WW2, lots of children were being adopted because they were all losing their parents and some children were being taken away. This song was also made from 1920-1952 and the tallest girl in the back died after rehearsing this song. Also the high pitches that are added makes people claim that this is supposed to be a creepy song.
@@amelia.imrann during WW2, their parents may have died, but that's not the reason children were sent away. In areas that were popular, likely to be targeted or attacked, the children would be sent away from their parents to another home or possibly a school in some situations, to keep them safe. They very rarely got to bring their parents. ❤
The meaning This song was made during ww2 and parents had to send their children safe away from the war. They wrote this song because people were adopting children and taking care of them.Thats why it said "Tonight you belong with me".The tallest one was putting her head up because it was a sign that they dont feel well, know they are gonna doe or their parents have been killed.Shortly after they performed this vid,the eldest had sadly died.Do you think she wasnt feeling good or knew she was gonna die? They said this song is creepy because of the tallest girl or the hight pitched noises❤.
Yes she did die bc they were being threatened to sing and if they didn’t they would get killed and she was pretending to sing and they noticed so they ended her rip *i got this off other comments*
Here's why: In WW2 kids were loosing parents and made this song to the others to ket them know that mean people were kidnapping their parents so that good people start adopting children to keep them safe. If you look closer, the tallest girl looks up at the "(second one) you belong" and she died because the 4 kids were threatened to sing or they'll get killed and the tallest girl was just moving her mouth and pretending to sing so they realized it and they killed her.
For those who don't know, it was a love song made in 1926, which was later covered by these four girls (patience & prudence) in 1956. All of these girls are still alive, but tragically their little sister was struck by a car. Their Dad was also murdered by a derranged fan, vlaiming that the oldest sister was his wife.
My class mate was singing this from grade one to grade 6 and he died at grade 8 cuz of an car crash and now i keep hearing his song everywhere even my parents hear him its true but now there is no more voice around our house cuz i keep praying to god to take him somewhere else 😢 i really miss him he is my best friend in the class😢😢
Reasons why people might think this song is creepy: The slow high notes The sentence "but tonight you belong to me" and people might think of it being demonic demon children saying that The story about this song Why people find this song calming: It's catchy It's slow The kids are innocent And becuz it's calming
For those who don't know, in world war 2, children lost their parents to bombs and fighting, so people held a shelter for the children who lost their parents, and the people who ran the shelter started to claim the children even if their parents hadn't died, and came back. So they made them sing this song to let children know it's a safe place (which it's not) and that's why it says "I know you belong to somebody new but tonight you belong to me" was known as claiming the children knowing they have parents or don't. And the tallest girl had passed away after the video (she was murdered by the people claiming the children, for showing obvious fear and looking around, obviously terrified. Hope that helps
There’s a chilling rumor surrounding the song "Tonight, You Belong to Me" that adds a dark edge to its otherwise sweet melody. Legend has it that a group of musicians once performed this beloved song at a private party for a man with a notorious reputation. As the story goes, the musicians were thrilled at the opportunity, but the atmosphere quickly shifted when they began singing. The host, known for his unpredictable nature, became fixated on the song. He had a personal connection to it, and as the music played, he grew increasingly agitated. It’s said that he pulled a knife, holding it menacingly as he demanded the band repeat the song. The tension in the room skyrocketed as the musicians realized they were in a precarious situation, caught between the haunting beauty of the song and the threat of violence. The most unsettling part of the rumor is the detail about a little girl who was present that night, standing to the left of the band as they performed. Some who claim to have seen footage of the event insist that if you look closely, you can spot a shadow lurking beside her-a dark silhouette that adds to the eerie nature of the performance.
Basically in WW2 an orphanage type thing was created for kids without parents to come to where they would be safe and fed. Less kids starting coming (just Becuase it was getting closer to the end of war and more men weren’t needed so they were able to keep their own children safe) the owner of the company wasn’t happy so he left the job and sold it. The new job got into the hands of the wrong person because he discovered a way to get more kids. He was going to take kids even if the kids family was alive still. And the kids weren’t exactly taken care of anymore because some days he wouldn’t feed them and stuff. But as an advertisement he had some kids sing a catchy song that was supposed to sound calming and safe. That’s why they sing “I know you belong to somebody else, but tonight you belong with me.” The tallest girl in the back didn’t sing Becuase she knew what was happening, and her parents were still alive. (All the kids in the video still had parents but they were too young to understand) Anyway, after the song ended the oldest was killed for not singing, and the others managed to escape the next day.
I don't think it's that I'm pretty sure it's because all the kids parents keep on dying during WW2 and they keep on having to switch through families and now they're at that family
GUYS! THE TALLEST GIRL DIDN'T DIE!! The youngest/shortest (Mimi) was the only one who died. She was struck by a speeding car. It might sound scary because how high their voices are and how it’s in black and white. I was scared when I saw it for the first time too💀
So during WW2 kids had been losing parents back then during wars so they made song that is named tonight you belong to me to show people in the war are taking/kidnaping their parents and adopting/token from nice people to take care of them so much and keeping them safe it’s creepy because it was made back then and there were not cameras back then but the tallest girl in the back died or got killed I think for pretending to sing but it’s not a normal song they are being threatened to sing if they don’t they will get unalived/killed and look at the girl’s right there is a knife the girl on the right looks scared but pretending to be happy a scared face might mean sos and the boy is a little scared because of getting threatened Rip tallest girl in the back😢
The girl in the back got killed and the people actually lost there parents and had to go to the place and they were forced to sing that song and the words "you belong to me" are very very dangerous and after all this everybody there died and they were dead and all of them were held captive and they the words "you belong to somebody new" are actually meaning they said that because they wanted them to think they belong there now and they would think it was a safe place for them to stay so thats why 😅(pls give this comment at least 10k likes pls and thank you) there is why i came here to tell answers😊
This isn’t the correct Audio, they put the creepier version on top, search up tonight you belong to me by Lennon sisters and it sounds much more cheery.
There's no game based off of it It's a song woman song during WW2 I literally just looked it up and it's a plea that woman said like I previously stated during world war II
The young girl was saying help me when she was singing you belong to somebody new when she said new she didn’t say it because her mouth was together saying me and she said help right before that!
Did anyone notice that during singing..the place became dark? Its too creepy 💀😨 It's creepy bcs..(IN MY OPINION) • high pitch of kids • creepy lyrics like "you belong to me" • slowly place became dark hope you noticed now ✨🎀
Explanation here: So this song was used in a old time for calming kids when it was war time and they all were worried and scared and this song used to calm them Hope this helped
Clue: sam is a boy who got bullied and sam went to school and he was getting bullied and sam went to the bathroom and he saw one of the bullies and the bully got tired of him and kill3d him and he thought sam was dead then sam escaped with allmost dead and decaying body one night at the school he cralled into the vents and the teacher loked it its unclear why and there was a school play becuas we went missing about him witch is the song is and he was looking threw the air vents always there watching...
This was in WW2 during the children evacuated to the countryside so the Germans couldnt bomb them - they wrote this song to their parents since theyre far away. And this indicates that their Host-families treat them good/bad.
all of them is real guyss!!! t: during WW2 children had been losing their parents so they made this song to show that people are taking children and adopting them and taking good care of them and keeping them safe from the war. thats why the say " you belong to me" but LOOK carefully ro rhe 2 SHORT GIRLS when they say ''you belong to me'' here is moree, All of the 4 little kids were being threatened to sing that because if u look on the right of the smallest little girls side on the right then u see a shadow of a knife so basically if they didn’t sing that then they would’ve been killed, and after all the 4 little kids sang that the tallest girl in the middle died…or got killed AND the little boy IS THE OWNER OF THE MURDER but it is NOT his fault he was being threatened
Explanation: during ww2 some kid had lost their parents in the war so some people make the place to live the kids and even through their parents were alive they are not going to send those kid which is part of the song "i know you belong to me but tonight you belong to me" and make kids to sing song to feel safe (which is not safe) And the tallest girl was died after that performance :( Can i get 1k like?:)
Explanation: All of the 4 little kids were being threatened to sing that because if u look on the right of the smallest little girls side on the right then u see a shadow of a knife so basically if they didn’t sing that then they would’ve been killed, and after all the 4 little kids sang that the tallest girl in the middle died…or got killed Edit:MY HANDS HURT SOO MUCHHHHH
Is it just me or am i getting Dream smp memories of this song that someone made of Tommy getting manipulated by Dream in gacha club they made and drew some more?
Story:so they got forced and look at the smallest girl there is a shadow of a knife the oldest in the middle she died after singing you belong to me MY HANDS HURTTT
The real story: No one in the video actually died, but, this story does have a scary background. In the 1800's, A man by the name Harry Lansgate killed his wife while singing this song. The wife was known as Lynette Lansgate (Mayfield). Her death was due to apparently "cheating" on Harry. But she was only talking to the landlord about bill problems. Harry struck her with a knife 2 times in the chest on August 12th, 2 days before her birthday. Harry was singing this song they made up when they met. Harry then ended himself in the jail cell, his cellmate, Jasper Anderson, had a gun hidden incase. Such a cruel person. (NOT THE REAL STORY I JUST WANTED TO WRITE ONE LOL BUT IS IT GOOD?)
It’s like the two calm feeling because when scary movies are here and then like lullaby songs come on it’s horrifying somehow I don’t know why but it’s just horrifying
So this is the explanation (ik someone already did but i still wanna lol) So in ww1 (i think it was ww1 not ww2)so this song was created to comfort childrens and after this video was recorded the oldest girl died(she was looking up and telling her mom something too)
I think ppl think it’s creepy because it was back in the olden days and don’t get me wrong the kids have amazing voices but ppl may think it sounds creepy bcuz some children’s voices sound creepy
Im tired of people saying this is creepy. Its so beautiful and it fits as a love song, when i heard it. I was happy and smiling alot. This is beautiful.
For those who don't know: In British WW2, those girls' parents died in the war, making them go to this wicked and horrible shelter. Then, the people threatened the girls to sing this song or they would be murdered. The tall girl in the back [Dianne] was caught lip syncing, so unfortunately, they unalived her. But the others escaped.RIP. Dianne ❤
a lot of explanations in this comment section explaining why the short is 'creepy' are wrong. most surround a rumor that the tallest sister was shot and killed by an armed assailant behind the camera because she was lip synching instead of singing. This is incorrect, and the girls featured in the short, the Lennon sisters, are all still alive, and some still even perform today. My reasoning would be that the grainy audio quality combined with the old-timey camera footage and music style can be perceived as unsettling to some. EDIT: one of their sisters did die at the age of 16 months, but she wasn't in the quartet, so I overlooked it.
Guys, this was not made in World War II and not all the Lennon sisters died only Mary which is sixteen months old and peggy did not die she retired in 2001 so all of the Lennon siblings are alive accept for Mary who got hit by a speeding car if you don’t know who Mary is watch: Do Re Mi from Lennon sisters
So idk what going on but so there house got no bed I hope and this man created a shelter and it wasn’t safe and the tallest girl in the back lip synced ( they were forced to sing) so after the man figured out she lip synced she got killed the right died also and the left ad a heart attack but the little one survived I hope so that what happened hope this helped!
Story: If you notice those four childrens and one on the middle her bangs was actually maded by thier strict parents so they started to be abandoning them in the 1980s so the meaning of “you belong to me” was actually was the meaning of “your here” and “ stay here” and people didn’t had babies before so they begin being adopted and learing hiw to speak because the strict parents didn’t want them to speak because the parents might think they will be aressted and didn’t want that to happen and so as ia said their step parents are learing them to say languages to learn and the girl the oldest one one the back middle died after performing the song people thinks is sad but might be ,creepy, or is it just me and the name of the song lyrics is named “belonging And the three childrens were really sad but some peolpe of there classmates thinks there older sister is absent but if someones asking them they answer nothing PLS GIVE ME LIKES MY HANDS😢😢
explanation:in ww2 these 4 sisters were threatened to sing ,the tall girl in the behide actually died after they sang itthe man killed her and when u hear you belong to me look in the smallest girl in the right you'll see a shadow of a knife.. correct me if im wrong
Look closely at the curtains, at the right of the little girls behind her hair at the part where they sing "but tonight you belong to me" you see a shadow of a knife behind the girls hair@@Badbishlily-FAN-r3v
For who doesn't know Their family died and four children are called lennion sisters they forced to sing this song you can see theres a weird figures in the cortain theres a knife next to the girl after the song the tall girl killed by a man and three ran and have better life now

The story of Patience and Prudence is about the sister duo who became chart-topping pop stars in the 1950s:
Background
Patience and Prudence McIntyre were born in Los Angeles in 1942 and 1945, respectively. Their father, Mark McIntyre, was a pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader who worked with Frank Sinatra in the 1940s. The girls studied piano and learned to read music as children.
First hit
In 1956, at the ages of 11 and 14, Patience and Prudence recorded a demo of "Tonight You Belong to Me" in a Los Angeles studio. The song was a revival of Gene Austin's 1927 hit, and was written by Billy Rose and Lee David. Liberty Records released the song as a single, and it became a million-selling gold record, reaching #4 on the Billboard charts.
Second hit
The following year, Patience and Prudence released a cover of "Gonna Get Along Without Ya Now", which had first charted for Teresa Brewer in 1952.
Career
Patience and Prudence released 11 singles during their short recording career. By their late teens, neither girl wanted to be a pop singer anymore.

Possible reasons why ppl find it scary:
-the pitch of the kids voices making it sound scary
-when they say, "but tonight you belong to me" (possibly referring to kidnapping?)

-the slow and steady beat
-they like the harmony

(EDIT: YALL STOP BLOWING UP MY PHONE😭😭 I GET UR TRYING TO TELL UR STORIES BUT THIS IS JUST MY OPINION😭🙏)
The reason is because during WW2, lots of children were being adopted because they were all losing their parents and some children were being taken away. This song was also made from 1920-1952 and the tallest girl in the back died after rehearsing this song. Also the high pitches that are added makes people claim that this is supposed to be a creepy song.
no it's not kidnapping it's a good thing they adopt kids and take good care of them that's why the said it
No, it’s scary because of the short ones ugly ass haircut
True
@@amelia.imrann during WW2, their parents may have died, but that's not the reason children were sent away. In areas that were popular, likely to be targeted or attacked, the children would be sent away from their parents to another home or possibly a school in some situations, to keep them safe. They very rarely got to bring their parents. ❤
The meaning
This song was made during ww2 and parents had to send their children safe away from the war.

Am i the only one that relized that thats the begging to the song Hummingbird from Spiderman across the Spider-Vers?
No
Here's why:
In WW2 kids were loosing parents and made this song to the others to ket them know that mean people were kidnapping their parents so that good people start adopting children to keep them safe. If you look closer, the tallest girl looks up at the "(second one) you belong" and she died because the 4 kids were threatened to sing or they'll get killed and the tallest girl was just moving her mouth and pretending to sing so they realized it and they killed her.

Reasons why people might think this song is creepy:
The slow high notes
The sentence "but tonight you belong to me" and people might think of it being demonic demon children saying that
The story about this song
Why people find this song calming:
It's catchy
It's slow
The kids are innocent
And becuz it's calming
I don't find it calming
Its because the tallest girl dies after singing the song
@@Saleha786.no she didn’t die
It’s not because of that it’s because it looks ai why would that line be scary??
The words "you belong" can remind people of bad times in their life-
It does it for me too but it sometimes just gives me a headache

It's not scary it's Calming, who agrees

Me
Ik this is creepy to meh I would listen to it it's a good song..
The reason why this video is really scary. It’s because they’re saying this because they’re trying to claim children.
I don't think it's that I'm pretty sure it's because all the kids parents keep on dying during WW2 and they keep on having to switch through families and now they're at that family

Such a cruel person.

a lot of explanations in this comment section explaining why the short is 'creepy' are wrong. most surround a rumor that the tallest sister was shot and killed by an armed assailant behind the camera because she was lip synching instead of singing.
