- In this video Shawn and I are wheeling with Steve who was on the Ultimate Adventure in 2019. We showed some footage of this in our previous video, but then realized that we were missing all of the shots from the other camera! I hope you like it!
Definitely a good idea to keep skills fresh. Time seems like it's flat out moving. So I get it's hard sometimes.

Won't welding those two together keep them from flexing like they are supposed too?
I think it will cause the axle to rotate as it travels up in that side, but that's gonna be a lot less bad than the failure mode he was experiencing, so hopefully a big met positive

Might be tricky to sync the clips up, but a cool feature!

99 % of the time, I used 718 Lincoln rod, commercial; retired Cat mechanic, Lots of scraper work, I never used anything better, did some wire feed, never cared for wire, didn't hold up
to the abuse.
The 4 Lug Thug and Death star are both beasts and i like them both. It must be hard driving a 4 speed Rock crawling. Awesome Channel to watch and Funny

I feel your pain for missed footage. I have a paranormal UA-cam channel and we investigated a place, made a 2 hour video and forgot to put a ball rolling by itself in the video - the highlight of the evening. We had to make a short to show it. Thanks for sharing. I wondered about it in the first video.

I only stick weld. I have wire feed but rarely use it.

Yes, if someone experienced sets the correct settings for the application.. Stickwelding is just power and the available electrodes, only practical skill needed there, with a MIG you need the correct shielding gas and knowledge for what you are doing.
Yep, Mig welding is like using a caulking gun ... It's so easy a caveman can do it

I don't know about the comments but I was a welder at Lockheed Martin doing Cold water chiller system's and structural welding ie headers for door ways, stairs blabla. And took that same stic and welded roll cages in the driveway on rock's in the dark drinking beer. It's an All American tool every one should know how

If you're going to practice "stick" welding why not use the one you're going to be using in the field/recovery repair so you can adjust to operation or quirks if any to the premier welder, practice with what you're going to using in other words just saying. I mean no harm or insult. lol
It's an accurate statement! The welder on the truck definitely behaves differently!

Mike, I believe that bar you have welded between the upper and lower arms is a bad idea, there really needs to be flex between the two arms to allow some rotational movement of the front axle, something is gonna break!
