@@tomislavkomac5853 the game often suggests you trade in the joker, even when you have a different potential set in your hand
@@tomislavkomac5853 when you trade cards, if you have (say) 3 infantry + 1 joker, the game will recommend you trade the joker. This wastes time and likely hurts beginners... or in Pete's words, "THAT. WOULD. BE. DUMB!!". If would be quicker and more beginner-friendly if the game's default trade recommendations kept the joker in your hand where possible.

22:22 I do not think the default is to trade the joker. The default is to prefer what would be a 10 trade in fixed, even if this requires spending the joker. I think that if you have three different cards plus one joker the game keeps the joker in reserve.
Then change the default for fixed vs prog. That is such an easy solution.

maybe the underlying code for trades are universal or hardcoded across the board... then the above is an unintended side effect that the creators didn't see ahead for. its interesting cause i thing @Taemry is correct on his line of thinking. but whats funny is that the followup is never as simple as just adding a if /then. its far more likely card bonuses are baked in.

22:02 Had to laugh at this one but agreed. These small things can be really annoying at times, I've lost games due to slidering mistakes when splitting, ranking down big time as a result. Seems like easy fixes yet nothing happens..

I was the meanie in my last game. Dude only left 4 on his cap turn 2... I mean if the dude is just going to give it to me.... Turns out that guy was expert and everyone else was novice. How he got to expert with that level of greed, I'll never know. He ended up feeding himself to me as a kill in the end. Then me and the last guy absolutely wrecked the board leader and I took second. All in all a solid game.

Pete, I'm sure you've realized this, but it trades your wild card by default to try to make the best trade for you in fixed... Well, that's not how progressive works. By the way, just hit grand master with mostly my own settings, with progressive world dom, with fog, blizzards and unstable portals. I realized that playing progressive capitals stalemates too often for me and I can't be bothered to grind out a 2-3 hour game to win, so eventually I will just kill someone and pretty much kill myself in progress of doing so, giving me a lower potential placement. I play progressive world domination, which sometimes makes you vulrenable to noob slams, but in the time it takes for me to win one game of EU progressive caps, I can play 3-4 progressive world dominations and usually just gain more rank points that way. Do you have any thoughts on this?
It's a fine methodology to get to gm. The issue with prog wd is as you climb higher in the ranks the losses cost much more than the wins so you'll stabilize a lot lower than you would with caps

Pete, I gotta say I had played risk before and was terrible. I just downloaded it again for iOS and have been consistently getting top 2-3 finishes after watching your videos.
The one thing that really sucks is seemingly every game I’m getting weirdly vindictive who don’t want to let me hold even then smallest of bonuses, then they’ll just suicide into my when I take my bonus back and stack on the border next to them 😂

Now I could be wrong but from what I've seen on the joker trades it seems like the game likes to trade for the highest trade value in non-progressive game making the game choose the joker to make the highest trade, a dude, a cavalry, and an artillery.
Yep, it doesn't check to prioritize for prog instead of fixed, which is pretty dumb

@@TheKillPeteStrategy I watched a UA-cam video about a year ago called the death of UA-cam I believe. It highlighted all the ways UA-cam tries to make money and grab your attention. Once I saw the video, I realized that everyone throws in arrows often times pointing to nothing. (The other key was a persons reaction face and highlighting the outside of that person.) You know how once you see something you can’t unsee it? Well, now I see arrows in all thumbnails on UA-cam. But I get it. You need to do what is proven to grab the most attention. Don’t worry, I will still watch your videos ha ha.
