You can tell a lot about a community by the amount of trash in the street and the condition of the roads. If the government won't pave the streets, how will the police get around?

This should never be happening in such a small island. It tells the world about the breakdown of law and order, the lack of social and ethical cohesion, values and respect, family breakdown, low education standards, low performance and from teachers and parent/s, a corrupt govts, corrupt authority figures, lack of positive adults role models in position of power . Very poor education system and lack of long life learning.
The country under every political party have (for too long) not provided strong ethical and moral governance. PNM currently is a better party than the UNC, to prevent standards declining further. However, this small island is going the way of Guyana with the racial devided. Probably, as a direct result of too many Guyanese in our island with their racist ideology.
With respect to gang crime; why to we allow this to persist? This is a tiny island, everybody knows what is going on . There should be no tolerance for crime and none for gangs. Gangs should be smashed instantly by the police and the army. Those wanting to regroup should be taught a lesson. All criminals should be put to hard work. It should not be a choice; but a given punishment of productivity and recompense for the cost to feed, clothe , house and retrain criminals/prisoners.
Prisoners should be put to work on roads, construction, sewage, repairing the houses of the aged and infirm etc, paying back to society. The island are full of idlers ( foreign and locals), who have never worked.
Deportation should be built into our legal statutes, irrespective of citizenship (for those whose parents were born outside Trinidad) and commit a criminals offence on our shores. A get tough on crime is one way to deal with the endemic criminal culture that has been allowed to florish.
Trinidad should also bring back the death penality for drug and gun crime.

It really bothers me why they following the American lifestyle. Be individual you are Trinidadian not American. Copy cating does not work.

BINGO....Also... you'll notice the same american degeneracy pattern mostly throughout the indigenous lands of this planet: Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia & the Caribbean. If the average person lacks the critical thinking to connect these dots, then it's safe to say that humanity could be induced with self-inflicted, psycho-social lobotomy.

Jesus is the answer. He changes hearts. That is the issue of man. The heart/mind. Wickedness begins there. Lord, help Trinidadian people to open their hearts to Jesus so He can change them and I bind up these ruler spirits over the country - Spirits of violence, addiction, greed, poverty, covetousness and all connected. I cancel every plan of destruction for Trinidad and its people. May each one come to know you as Lord and Savior so they can be a positive force to uplift the country in Jesus name, Amen. *Pray and pray more specifically. Visit amazingfacts.org , it will change your life. Blessings 🙏🏾

If the budget in Trinidad was allocated correctly, had it not been for the corruption that plagues and undermines positive human development.
The thieves that Rob Trinidad and personalise the wealth as theirs, unless that does not come to and end, poverty would always breed crime.
All this money..... Budget equivalent to DUBAI 🤔...... Yet still so much suffering.

Trinidad was once a peacefull country but since the formation of Caricom and the Trinidad Government allowing immigrants to enter Trinidad from Grenada and Suriname and Guyana and Jamaica crime has increased and the Government is doing nothing. To make matters worse the National Security in Trinidad employs Caricom foreigners to work for Trini tax payers money.
The population in Trinidad is one million trinis and three hundred thousand grenadians = 1.3 million

You bright eeeeh. Please leaveJamaica out of this. Caricom does not do anything for Jamaica. And don't mix up my country. Maybe the other small island them. But leave us out of this. Jamaica stands well on Jamaica own. And we do not take Trinidadian tax money. We have too many natural resources for that. We create our own income. Such nonsense.
