Walmart is trash that's why they are beating people out. Child labor, treats their employees like utter trash, and made some remarkable new comments. Boycott Walmart. Love YOUR channel though
@growingyourgreens thanks for sharing! I'm in Chicago and my local Wal-Marts don't usually have these products until about May, which is late for me. I do usually have luck with Lowes or Menards clearance around this time. Hopefully I can luck up!!
@3:10 Actually, the bottom part that is black is used as a top to help keep humidity in! The secret is to get a bunch of them and you can use the bottom black part as a top to keep humidity, then when they start sprouting and don’t need an extra top use it as a water bin. I think these are extraordinarily useful and flexible for multiple uses. Also thank you John for all of the work that you do. You have touched so many people’s lives and helped from afar! I deeply appreciate your spirit of giving
I will have to go over and look around. I do buy an item that Walmart you didn't talk about it's Ferry Morris clay coated carrot seeds. No thinning down the seeds. I would say 75 to 80% germination. The clay balls are radish seed size. You get around 100 seeds for $2.50. I am not buying from them this year. I need to plant more carrots and I wanted a wintering carrot. I ordered from Johnny seeds The neem oil listed in the video is good for 2 years. I bought a small bottle. This sells out early in the season. Great video! Remember boogie brew has great products!
Thanks for the heads up about Walmart carrying quality garden products. I never would have thought to look there (!I rarely shop there.) Now I definitely will check on-line and buy them there if I can.
Used the half Jiffy starting and half worm castings that study you cited recommended - had better luck with my seedlings in Happy Frog. But that's just my experience. Thanks for all your great videos and keep up the good work. Hope your legal woes with the channel are over.
Ocean forest is great for starting seeds and for any size plant. Trust me I grow fruits and vegetables for a living. I’ve been using ocean forest for 17 years. For seedlings and for potted plants. There is no other potting soil that is as good or as consistent as ocean forest.
@devinsullivan7233 Ocean Forest can burn some seedlings, and it tends to have fungus gnats, so I don't like to use it indoors. By the time my starts had germinated, I had gnats all over the house. 😢
Thanks for sharing this info about Walmart carrying more organic gardening products. I was my local Walmart about 3 weeks ago and cruised the garden section. Lo and behold...they had a lot of organic products! I was excited they had Azomite. I bought several organic gardening items. I bought the Burpee seed starter trays. I thought what a great design concept. I used the seed trays for my seedling starts today. I like the compact size so they don't take up a lot of room on my grow station shelf. Also, I like the bottom flat that catches the water after watering the seedlings. I've read quite a few online comments where people say the plastic cracks easily, especially the handles, and the trays don't last long. Guess time will tell.
Dr earth is a great additive for soil, I grew 8 foot tall ghost pepper plants with it. Also if you are going to use Alaska fert you definitely need Dr earth for the microbes to break down the fert for plant uptake
Funny I just found this out myself yesterday and now this showed up. The one in my area also had a nice selection of seeds and starters. Also great prices/ quality selection on bare root plants compared to the other stores next to it.
I noticed that my Walmart has a low cost worm casting option. Their garden section is better than other big box places. My problem with all of the big box stores is that they have their seeds and display out in spring. Our dry season. The fall and winter are our garden season.
Great video! I have mixed feelings about promoting Walmart because the small businesses struggle due to them but honestly as a fellow gardener on a tight budget, I have been shopping there more frequently recently. Around the holidays they improved their garden center and products so much that I was also very impressed with much of what you showed here. Thanks for all of the helpful tips. Especially tge reminder about wearing a mask for the DE applications. I often don’t despite the warnings and you example is valuable to make me take it more seriously. I will be trying some more of your recommendations soon. ❤
Hi John, Greetings from Arizona. I'm still hoping you'll come visit Arizona again sometime. To save money, I just use the black trays with the clear lids that food comes in from the market to start my seeds in. Costco has the Dr. Earth Gold all-purpose fertilizer - 25 lbs for $22.99. Earth Science Worm Casting is $12.99 for 12lbs. May you walk in beauty always!
Hi John. I Just Tunened Into This New Show. I Thought I Recognized, Your Voice. Thanks For Teaching Us About Walmart Products. Are You Still Living In Arizona? Jerry from Anaheim, California USA.❤
Wow, I'm surprised to see a lot of these things at Walmart; they usually don't have a good selection of garden products. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
At Walmart in San Marcos, CA, the shopping carts stop working a little way into the parking lot. The wheels automatically lock now. So it is very difficult to transport bags of soil and products to cars as before it was never an issue. I went to HD.
I bought the burpee seed trays this year. They are really nice. I didn’t need the dome time because we have enough humidity in our area. I have used Jiffy seed starter for years. My only problem is there is none on the shelves in July when you are seed starting for the fall and winter. So I have to keep some in stock. Thanks!
Nearest Walmart has 1/2 and the other about several miles maybe has the other 1/2 of these products but what a wonderful video 😊I can save $$$ on shipping cost, and guessing what to buy!
Thanks for the research, John! I was surprised too - saved $5 on Plant-tone 8lbs last month compared to HD. Also bought a descent looking Blueberry bare-root for $7.
My wally world has all that now. I was disappointed that they reduced the size of their Burpee seed section. It used to be as large as the Ferry Morse in your video and now it's only a couple of packs. I have lots of seeds but it was nice to get some cheap Burpee Zuc seeds. Thanks John
I was making iced tea adding in whole cloves and boiling it until the water had a little color. Strained out the cloves and putting them in a small bowl. Just left them on the counter out of the way. Normally I get a lot of fruit flies in summer with tomatoes all over. Not this last year! I think I had less than a dozen… cheap try especially since I used them first. Year before I used cheap wine and caught thousands!
Yes i agree the jiffy peat starter thingys dont do any good for me as well, they dont break down and seem to stunt the growth of my plants. Great content! ❤
Do you not use Dr. Earth potting soil anymore? I used the potting mix and long time ago after watching one of your old videos but I have had a very hard time finding it in the stores, I only find it online and it's way too expensive.
Walmart here in Northern California doesn’t sell Alaska fish fertilizer. Only Lowe’s and Home Depot sell it but the price has tripled over the past decade. I would beg to differ that fish hydrolysate is better than fish emulsion. Fish emulsion is much better for plants that are growing in the ground because it has a lot more solids and so it feeds microbes slot better and has a better slow release.
I got some of the plant success mycorrhizae on clearance. if you wait until the fall or winter (forgot when it was), they will put all the garden supplies on clearance. the mycorrhizae was less than 10$ in my area.
I'm curious what you use instead of Bone Meal. I used to use fish bone meal, but the heavy metals were concerning to me, so I have gone back to bone meal. What do you suggest?
I have never used a dome top and always have healthy starts. Help me understand what I'm missing. Thank you!! I run a fan to reduce mold and bottom water
What do you recommend to kill off IVY cut it last year and came back with a vengeance, and I tried a bottle of weed killer from Costco but did nothing. Tried vinegar, salt, and soap, it killed the leaves but grew back this month.
Short of herbicides, ivy is hard to kill. I've had some success with black tarps and baking the soil all summer under plastic, but it took all summer 😮
The Alaska fish fertilizer (based on my research) potentially has heavy metals (mercury, etc). Do your own research -but I live in alaska and I do not use this product

I went to Walmart for a balloon air pump and came out with that and over $200 in gardening supplies this weekend lmao Walmart is killing it

Ocean forest is 100 times better than happy frog.
@devinsullivan7233 i was afraid it was too rich for starting seeds. Did you have luck with it?
Ocean forest is great for starting seeds and for any size plant. Trust me I grow fruits and vegetables for a living. I’ve been using ocean forest for 17 years. For seedlings and for potted plants. There is no other potting soil that is as good or as consistent as ocean forest.

John, a Man of the People!
The People are boycotting walmart
You still rock John!!! ❤❤❤❤❤

I feel the same way about Amazon as Wal-Mart. They've both put the squeeze on small businesses. But with money so tight, what are you gonna do?
Glad to see you are still posting
I appreciate you making this video. Thank you, John!
Ahhhh thank you John!!! This is what I needed to boost my garden this year :)
That was a 50 pound bag of azomite yearly because of what I've learned from you. I also bought my juicer from yours well

I take it you got your channel back. Last time I saw you,, you were saying UA-cam had demonized your channel. If so good for you, glad you're back.
Awesome video Walmart does have the best prices. Some stores are better than others. Happy gardening everyone. 💙💚💛🧡💜 Liz
Thanks John your channels have been very important and informative to me past decade, keep on growing!!
Heck yeah they are!!! Affordable too!!!
Thank you so much for the heads up! There is a Walmart 15 min. away and hope mine is as well stocked as yours is!
Wow, I hope my Walmart in Montana will have these products! Thanks for sharing this with us John.

I gotta say it must be somebody in Walmart purchasing watching your videos
Loved your tour... thanks much! Really enjoy your channel...
Walmart / Cardano Ada partnering up too. Awesome.
We try not to shop at walmart when possible. Those are some good deals. Thanks john. ✌️🇺🇸. Give a hug to oakley
Thanks John I hadn’t checked Walmart for this things yet I can get to 4 or 5 different Walmarts near me I’ll find em 👍💥
I'm excited to go to Walmart and actually have a clue as to what I need! Thank you!

Thank you John!
Walmart surprised us all
Thank you l never knew that Walmart have such a great garden department.
Great info....1 luv from Ohi-gro!!
Hey hey Hometown hero! Keep on growing!
Thanks for the research, John! I was surprised too - saved $5 on Plant-tone 8lbs last month compared to HD. Also bought a descent looking Blueberry bare-root for $7.
Thank you so much for this, John. I have been very unhappy with Walmart's selections for the past few years.
Thank you! Hope we have it here in the NW. Is their one video putting it all together using these items? Would love to view it.
I’ve seen they are carrying down to earth brand now as well! My uncles Walmart in the u.p. Has em
My wally world has all that now. I was disappointed that they reduced the size of their Burpee seed section. It used to be as large as the Ferry Morse in your video and now it's only a couple of packs. I have lots of seeds but it was nice to get some cheap Burpee Zuc seeds. Thanks John
A lot of those companies are owned by the same people.
Exciting to see. I hope they bring this to Hawaii!!
Great video, thank you 💛

Yes i agree the jiffy peat starter thingys dont do any good for me as well, they dont break down and seem to stunt the growth of my plants. Great content! ❤
Ive watched you 10 years and have bought a 50 lb. Bag every year
greatly inspired
WOW, Go Walmart !!!
Wow My Walmart don’t have it like that
Home Depot had a veggie start for $12! I bout passed out. So expensive.
I buy non-organic seeds, but grow organic practices. I think that helps.
Walmart better step it up because Wal-Mart needs to start selling native plants and more tropical fruits and vegetables.
Thanks John🥬🥒🥕🌱
Thanks a bunch 🥕 John! So glad Walmart is carrying these products!
That’s cool! I’ve always had good luck with fish emulsion with other nutrients, so I’m not concerned about hydrolysate.
Do you not use Dr. Earth potting soil anymore? I used the potting mix and long time ago after watching one of your old videos but I have had a very hard time finding it in the stores, I only find it online and it's way too expensive.

Letzzz goooo thanks john
I got some of the plant success mycorrhizae on clearance. if you wait until the fall or winter (forgot when it was), they will put all the garden supplies on clearance. the mycorrhizae was less than 10$ in my area.
I will be stocking up
I’m interested in your training videos how may I access them please?

Can't tell is that biochar and compost omri listed?
Shocked to see Azomite in any big box store.

Its good if you just starting out. If you going to plant for years to come buy commercial seed trays
Nice
boycott walmart for rolling back their DEI policy, I will never shop there.
Dr earth is my fav to. Its much cheaper if you buy the 25 lb bags. Like 10x cheaper
At our local Walmart the Jiffy fertilizer bags are $ 7.97 and not 5.97 like you are showing. Why?
Hey I thought you got axed from UA-cam for having too many junkies on the show.
GMO is a advertising word they been using to sell seeds. Only industrial farmers are allowed to get GMO seeds.
My Wal-Mart does not carry the biochar
What up John?
Hopefully Walmart is paying you for this
I dont wanba go to walmart today, tomorrow, or the day after that.
which walmart'. Los Angeles ??
The OC stores are carrying most these items, so I'd assume LA's would as well. Happy growing!
My Walmart removed its huge outdoor garden section:(
They don't carry the stuff all year long though
Walmart wants to put garden nurseries and local gardeners out. Shopoing at walmart is insanely counterproductive to the people.
I need a good Spring GRASS AND WEED FERTILIZER that is not toxic to the soil and all the living worms, etc. in the ground.
Anything that kills weeds is going to be hard on your soil biome, particularly the fungi.
Bought soil from Walmart and it had bugs
All seeds sold to public are non gmo.
The brown bag of worm castings I bought it twice and it had human feces in it and I was using hands to take it out of the bag 🙌🏻
😐🤮 how do you know it has that in it?
WTF
I call bullshit
I call humanshit
Yeps rrash
Wally world is loosing money! They're favorite consumers have rejected them . If we have search high and low it wont be done at Walmart 😂
If you have ACE Hardware by you i think they have better selection as far as soils & addments
The Alaska fish fertilizer (based on my research) potentially has heavy metals (mercury, etc). Do your own research -but I live in alaska and I do not use this product
Nearly all ocean based products have heavy metals.
I refuse to purchase anything from Walmart. I don't care if I have to spend more money or make my own homemade items.
Nice mustache, mustache gardener
Organics is kind of a scam... Not only many products are way overpriced for what they deliver, but also there are
many synthetic chemicals allowed to be called "organic", for instance copper sulfate for fighting fungi,
potassium and epsom sulfate as fertilizers, the list goes on and on... Plus, there are a bunch of
snake oil salesmen pushing their unicorn dust products, when many of them are almost useless.
Dont get me wrong, organic agriculture is a first necessary step towards an agriculture less dependent
on synthetics, but still there's a long way to go before people are educated and become able to sort
the wheat from the chaff.
