The music, the beautiful San Bernadino mountains... forgive me, but every time I look to the San Bernardino mountains, I just have tears of joy. Living in Crestline for most of my life was the thing that kept me close with nature, then when I moved down to Lake Elsinore.. I felt out of touch element-wise. And, I felt emotionally disconnected from it. But, that somewhat changed when I had the chance to head back up to Crestline again to see what it looks like and it's as beautiful as I remember it. Then from there I went to Lake Arrowhead, and then Big Bear Lake. It's the greatest thing I've got to experience and I cannot begin to describe how much my heart had roared with joy to be with the mountains again. The heart's roar of which I concur, there's no place like home.

I couldn't agree more. I love the mountains, it's fresh air, the calmness, the sound of the birds chirping in the morning.

Wow, some one like me. I watch these & cry becouse I lived in Blue Jay & Running Springs for the first 12 yrs of my life & it was the best 12 yrs. It was the 1960's & living up there was magical. I went back with a friend in 2019 & stayed in a cabin with a friend for 3 days. It was the happiest 3 days I have had in a long time. I couldn't stop smiling, my friend really saw the difference. When I had to leave I cried the whole way to the airport. God has blessed me with a good home but I miss the Mountains & always will. I have always said that when I moved a part of me died. I wish I could be alive again but I think it's too late for me, I could never afford to move back.

You can either take Highway 18 from the 210 via Lake Arrowhead. Most people would take Highway 330 from the 210. Roads are regularly plowed but if you are going to Big Bear Lake, bottle neck starts from the junction of highway 18 and 330. During winter, chains are required unless you have a 4x4. Always check Caltrans for road advisory.
