Haha, you are completely right with the German pronunciation :-) Thanks for beeing that language sensitive. Top review, I could build a sufficient imagination about the game.
haven't tried the new endeavor 2.0, so can't say for sure. gentes has no direct conflict between players, so that's one thing to compare, and the deluxe version will likely have higher quality components? again, haven't seen what the new endeavor offers...
Hey Richard! I was between Troyes, Keyflower, Dungeon Petz and La Granja for our next game, but now after this video i m thinking Gentes too! I know they are different games but which one would you suggest picking up first? Which place would take in your ranks if you have given Gentes a rating? Thank you!
i didn't keep gentes for the 2p scaling reasons i mentioned in the video. as i understand it, they did tweak things a bit for the deluxe version (I think they made a specific rahdo card?) so i can't speak to the final, but if i were to judge it as a 3p game, it would be solidly in the mid 8 range :)
Rahdo's version is the Spielworxx version from Essen, one of 1000 copies made. So if you really really want it right now, try finding a copy on the market for a very high second hand price - as it is sold out. Those of us with patience will wait for TMG's version.
Very nice runthrough, as always..! Would it be possible to make a house rule for tightening up the continents the way you proposed and display less cards with 2 players? I am hesitant for buying this, but it looks very interesting. We also play mainly 2p. Regards!
Rahdo, a big fan of your final thoughts. Is there anywhere we can check out or see a list of upcoming boardgames that you'll give a look at? And on that topic, have you receive a copy of nemesis(kickstarter) to give it a go and give your thoughts about it?
I know he always says 'judge the game via the walkthrough', but I love his final thoughts too. Usually you can see his upcoming games via boardgamegeek.com/thread/967544/coming-soon-well-soon-ish but only last time did he do KS stuff, and with heavy caveats of changes being possible. I kind of hope he keeps that up as I find his KS stuff super useful, but yeah, not sure if it'll be a regular feature.
I'm not used to this wide view camera shot.. seeing the couch and shelf on our right is new!

Gentes or Endeavor? If you could only back one of these Kickstarters right now? I'm having trouble deciding.

@@rahdo Thank you Richard!
Hello! Do you recommend it to play it alone?
i haven't tried it solo so couldn't say
Hmm... is that Agricola/FotM on the top right part of the shelf in the background?
good eye
Thanks :)
So both standard and deluxe are shipped in Nov '18?

i'm not one to say. you might ask fans of the game on the boardgamegeek forums though?

Thanks man ^^, yeah his input usually helps me to decide either to get a game or not. I really appreciate his thoughts.
i usually list KS stuff i'm planning as well, it's just often at the beginning of the month i don't know yet if a prototype will be arriving :)
Happy to be wrong about that, even if my wallet isn't :) Sorry for the misinformation!
Lol the buildings are almost the only thing not upgraded
The graphics on the kickstarter look a bit more colourful than the 1st Edition.
very much so!
you and I have the same play style.
