I danced there in mid to late August 2001. I remember looking up at those towers and wondering how they would ever demolish them someday. I found out soon enough....
@@markgriffin2087 Actually I also think abut that sometimes when I see huge buildings. The logistics of building, demolishing, and rebuilding in a dense urban area are staggering.
I agree & also more often than not from a young age( earliest 5-7yrs old) think of tragic demolition of large public spaces.... I believe it's just the engineering logistics that may get one caught up in those thoughts 🧐
I spent the Friday before 9/11 doing this!!! It was sooo fun! Being around "fellow colleagues" When I think back to WTC, I always refer it to a college dorm, but working. 20 something years later, I miss my friends!
This is so beautiful! Seeing those people from all ethnicities and religions dance and having a good time together in a pre 9/11 world. Its the best of humanity, human civilisation and culture. Some very hateful people did bad things soon after this was recorded. Hate can be very powerful and devastating but love will always be stronger and more enduring.
I was six when the attacks happened, and I'm not american so all my life I have only known the WTC as this horrific, terrible place full of death and destruction. Seeing this scenes where people are enjoying, laughing and having a great time is so odd to me. It's hard for me to grasp the fact that once this was just a place, and there wasn't this tragic connotation attached to it
Cosas de la vida, un lugar donde mucha gente se estaba divirtiendo un tiempo despues iba a parecer un lugar con tantas escenas terrorificas y donde iba a acabar tragicamente la vida de muchas personas.
@@kawaibakanekohow did you get that from what I typed !? I just said it’s in Bad taste . This is How the WTC should be Remembered 🥰
This is also why the Twin Towers should be rebuilt. So restoration can occur and heal what can and needs to be healed.

I think of buildings falling a lot because tall buildings scare me
There were so many events and other things that used to go on at the old WTC complex every weekend. IT was great. What a great vibe it was.
I was here for Salsa night 10 days before 9/11
WOW 😊 what a great memory & that's what that space & place should be about 😊
The Greenmarket has returned to the WTC on Tuesdays and Fridays, so Salsa should return to the WTC on Thursdays. Why not?
Let's make THIS the "new normal", please?!

I worked there with wonderful people before 9/11. I miss them so much. I love you, Jewelry.

Que ambiente tan hermoso! ¿Quien imaginaria que en poco tiempo ese suelo y escenario estarían repretos de sangre inocente? :(
ASi es, el mosaico cultural que habia era increible, pero fue todo cubierto de sangre.
Wow!! What a big audience!!
Parece como si fuera sido ase poco que nostalgia las torres gemelas fueron únicas para todas las personas
It's so sad this was all lost on 9/11. People just enjoying life and the moment
Thank you for sharing video.

Yes but it’s More important to Remember, Experience And Honor and Celebrate this place Like THIS
Esto es lo máximo 😍
Is this the tribeca festival that they still have till this day?
No. This was Salsa Thursdays at the Plaza.
Ojalá hagan las torres gemelas de nuevo
I hope not!
Si, pero mas fuertes
Hey,What year was this?
@Claudia 2001, summer.

Walked up unexpectedly to Tito Puente live one day at the WTC Plaza.. 🙏🏽🫀
sad this is where most of the 9/11 jumpers bodies were found
Por culpa de George w bush ya no están las torres gemelas
I still think having all those unnecessary Buildings Surrounding the Fallen towers is In Bad taste !
How could you do that to a Landmark !?
Wait a sec, if I understand you, you wanted to destroy *more* building?
