THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PRESENTATION.. I can't thank you enough. I'm a senior citizen and I have a non-profit organization to help seniors. I'm just learning about the "surety" bond, "performance bond" that i think I have bought but didn't have a clue, that I did. (Never heard of the "performance bond" but I think (so far) I like the idea and would have more contstruction work done if I knew I had some back-up helping me to get the job done right so I know they're in business to make their profit but still they could tell me which way is up or down (I hope). Anyway, I had a problem with a contractor and I stopped all work because the contractor wasn't fullfilling the promise of the contract (not doing the things I asked for in the Kitchen and Bathroom room projects like "recess lighting" and a "larger refrigerator space" for a modern refrigerator and a wall back-splash--and: they wanted me to sign a second order for the materials and cost. I asked for an invoice on the first project--the kitchen and all hell broke loose. (I had no idea what the cost was that was quoted for each project; they just gave one number and I thoroughly trusted the brand: SEARS. I just knew I didn't have to read a lot of paper work, all that because in my dream: SEARS listen to me and SEARS was goingt to do a good job and I was going to be satisfied and just pay the bill.) Didn't happen that way. And (as a senior citizen, not as quick and sharp like I use to be) I feel thoroughly sick, disappointed and overwhelmed. My trust level dropped to ZERO. I am not about to buy more when I don't know what I bought in the first place. But some work was done. I don't like it but the workers have to be paid. So I made big payments and paid the amount for the kitchen, what little bit was done: I have no idea what I paid for because the company refuses to give me any form of an invoice. When we went over the bathroom project--the same thing happened. What I wanted was not ordered to be done. They wanted me to do an add-on order and I refuse because they won't gve me an invoice. I don't know what I'd be paying for. HOW EASY IS IT TO LIST WHAT I WANTED IN THE FIRST BUY ORDER and CALCULATE A PRICE, THEN JUST NOT DO IT, BUT I PAY FOR IT? THEN RE-ORDER AND I PAY TWICE? (See no trust.) Now that I'm reading everything (with a magnifying glass so I can see it) I found out there is a "surety bond" and all of a sudden in my life for the first time, I am becoming familiar with a "performance bond". I did cancel the rest of the work but SEAR Home Improvement wants me to pay the two 30% down-payments on the cancelled projects. I live in California. DPs are 10% or $1,000 whichever is less. I made the best argument ever in a "demand letter" then I saw the fine print about a "performance bond" and then something else that says they may be in the right to charge 30% for down-payments if they have a "performance bond". And I supposedly paid for it in the cost. But was never told. Again. Thanks for the presentation. MO

As I watched the video it was increasingly striking that performance bonds follow the exact same template as a recognizance of bail. Care to shed any light on why this is?

In this video, the first presenter states two opposing representations concerning performance bonds. First, he states its a big part of society and then he states he couldnt find a lot of info on perfkormance bomds online because its a small part in construction contractors.

Question, how does this pertain to judges? I heard that most judges dont have a performance bond yet one is required to be a judge upon this land. Making any lawful judgements without one leaves them liable to be sued for racketeering. Does anybody know "WHY" this information may or may not be valid? Please no one liners like True or False. Thanks in advance for any responses with substance.

Is the performance bond purchased per job/contract ? Or is this covered if I was bonded ?
