  • Michigan basketball coach Dusty May sits down for an in-depth interview with The Michigan Insider's Sam Webb. The Wolverines' headman reflected upon cutting his teeth in his first college coaching job at Eastern Michigan, what he's learned about some of the unique challenges recruiting players to Michigan, and the reception he's gotten on the NIL fundraising trail. Attention then shifts to his early impressions of every player on the roster now that they're on campus. May opens up about Jace Howard's decision to stay on and the vote of confidence he got from Juwan Howard. He highlights his defensive philosophy, former players and coaches like Trey Burke and John Beilein who have stopped by to see him in the last few weeks, and much much more.

Michigan having the ability to land Dusty May is incredible. Yes, it's unfortunate that Howard got fired despite early success but roster management, and inexperience as a head coach showed in Howard the last two years, and the incidents that occured on and off the court. Despite that, its huge that Coach Howard will continue to support Michigan and support Coach May. As for Coach May, for what he has done in just over 3 months building a roster from the portal is incredible. Coach has been a riser in the coaching ranks and has been around lengendary coaches in the past. You have to give credit to Manuel, for reaching out to John Beilein to get him involved with the hiring to help get coach May here to Michigan. Its key to see Beilein be involved with The Michigan Basketball program again. The Michigan Basketball program under Dusty May is in great hands. After watching this video. Something special is going to happen during his tenure. GO BLUE!!

Trae is the reason I think this team will be very good and tuff….a rugged alpha dog mentality point guard that will score lead and do the dirty work!🇯🇲
