We need to trade back to the end of the 1st to like pick 30 and pick up and extra 3rd. Then trade back 4 or 5 spots in the 2nd and pick up a 4th. That gives you 1-1st, 1-2nd, 2-3rds and 1-4th. Created 2 extra picks by losing 10 potential players you could have had. More than worth it. Opens up your option of going OT and C rounds 1 and 2, if the right guys are there? Allows you to get your WR and RB with your 2-3rd rounders you now have and build our DL, LB and DB depth from the 4th round on.
Who's the trade partner? Other teams value their picks as well. I see teams keeping true to the talent with the picks they have
@tbrown4562 There is always a WR or LB or CB or DT or OL that has fallen lower than projected/expected out there that teams are coveting, and are afraid a Conference rival may take before their pick is up and will want to come up and go get. They are always out there. Just a matter of working the phones. There is always a trade to be had especially in the 1st half of the draft.

How would you feel about Guyton after a trade back, and then follow up with drafting Van Pren or Mahogany? Main thing is, FIX The tackle and Center. OR would you prefer Zach Frazier, and Rodger Rosengarten?

I agree with Washington . @BB. but I also like Johnny Wilson. A big target for DAK @Slot WR . Imagine having a whole left line at 6'6 AVG. And having a CB //LB. Try. and cover them
It really feels like we almost *have* to gamble on a trade back in round 1 and hope a tackle like Mims is still there. If not, take a C like JPJ/Frazier and hope a guy like Fisher is available later- if not, slide Smith to LT and Bass to G, use the remaining picks to address LB/RB/1T/WR.

I'd like to see a trade back, and then double down on OL. Actually, the team is at it's best when the OL is tight... I'd be okay with another OL taken later on too... add a new LT & C starter, then get some actual depth for a change on the OL.

It seems moving back in R1 is a must, unless Barton is there and I feel the Cowboys will take him. If so what then? What other round can we move down to try and get a 4th. Would you use the later rounds to move up into the 4th if we can't move back to get one or is this draft so loaded with quality players, would you keep your picks, even if no 4th, in order to pick more players or use them to come up and get the 4th? Also, if no OTs at 24, no JPJ, would you pick Frazier at 24? It's always hard to pick around 24 and then not until 56. I hate the word "reach" BS. Are we supposed to just pass on players we want because they're supposed to be picked at a certain number or round.

Lions do have a really good offensive line but they didn't look that good against top tier competition. I think defensive line, line backer might be just as important in a team's success.

To hear someone jealous of my Lions team is still wild to me. Our o-line really is something special, but it does need depth and contingency plans. Sewell is the only guy who isn't either old or chronically aching. The dirty little secret about the Lions 2023 draft is that they stuck to their stack. They even admitted that they had 15 first round grades and their first 4(!) were all in that top 15! Pick the best player and figure the rest out later.

Blake Fisher has some traits. He also played one of the worst games I’ve ever seen from mid round offensive tackle prospect. What he put on tape against 2023 Louisville was a horror show.
Football is won in the trenches use the first 3 picks on OT, C, & DT. You can find a good RB, WR, and LB later in the draft. Anybody can play RB behind a great OL, finding WR3 is not hard and neither is 1 more LB.
Thats what 90 percent of people never get when your oline an dline are elite every thing else is better to great
