1) Beehive is not an open subscription platform; it locks in payment data to prevent you from leaving. 2) It's made for techies and not for writers, journalists and publishing companies who do not want to spend time learning and working out how to set it up, design the website, landing page, sign-up form and sequence etc 3) The look and design of it is enough to make Steve Jobs scream in his grave - it's a bunch of techies who just do not care about the ease of use nor if it looks cartoony and childish.
Thanks for the Honest Review, one thing I also want to add is that they don't even have a Subscriber name option, so how can we customize the emails for the subscriber's

Where are you getting the $84/month screenshot at 2:56? Looks like they raised prices like two days before this video was posted. Are they (your word, not mine) "greedy"?
With the new pricing, the plan you quoted at just over $1K/year is now $2616/yearly or $249/monthly - which is $2988 a year. That's a 3X increase...😳
They raised their prices the same day the video dropped. They have a lot of VC funding so id imagine theyll raise prices again in a few years. They’re definitely less worth it than before. I’m going to continue using them but if they don’t start rolling out some impressive features i’m out
@@ericlamideas I’m not trying to be negative, things change and businesses grow. But a 3x bump overnight is kinda wild. And that still only gets you to 25k subscribers while the old one went to 100k😮.
I kinda see what they are doing, making it a little more accessible to those starting from zero and charging established customers more because they have revenue coming in. However, seems a little excessive.

This is a great question. I was hesitant to try ads for the same reason. The short answer is no. The longer answer is, every time you send an email you will lose some subscribers. The key is setting up a consistent organic top of funnel so you always have new subscribers coming in. This way when you send an email you can make up for the lost subscribers. To your ads question specifically, I havent seen a difference in unsubscribes since adding ads. People either want your newsletter or they don’t, ads from what ive seen don’t make them lose interest.

What I also don't like about beehiiv is there is no way to publish to beehiiv via RSS. You can publish FROM beehiiv via RSS, but what sense does that make. If you have a CMS that CMS usually is your system of record. ConvertKits let's you publish to it's platform via RSS. Beehiiv needs to catch up. I think this is a major feature.

beehiiv is good for ecommerce but it doesn't have all the integrations companies like klayvio have. so i'd suggest it if you can build them yourself (via api), otherwise, klayvio will be better.

Keep it simple. Don’t use more than like 3 colors. Also use 2 fonts maximum.

I did. I coded it in nextjs and use the beehiiv api to log subscribers.

Beehiiv is way more expensive now than shown in the video. For 100,000 subscribers they charge 349 Dollars per month now for their MAX plan.

This is so spot on. I literally just sent them feature request because I can't do even the simplest of things with the landing page. Things like creating spaces between sentence blocks. Having more than one frame or column on the page. Being able to edit the formatting of some of the text on the page. There are even more limitations with the upgrade page. I am really hoping they invest more in their customization features. This is the main thing that has me considering other platforms. I hate having the same landing page as everyone else and no way to change it.

Yo brother is it possible to use beehiiv as the newsletter in the background and run the site it self via ghost for example?
@@denitechYT Hi there, Yes from my understanding. If you want to use Ghost, Framer, Carrd, or some other platform for you landing page etc you can and just use Beehiiv to capture and send emails. It just requires a little more work and Beehiiv is supposed to be all-in-one platform. However, Beehiiv does have API and Webook intergraion options as well as embeddable subcribe forms for your website.
