Taylor rosenfield I was about to say the same! If she had not said she was a schoolteacher I would've thought she was a news reporter or a radio host she just has that very distinct voice
I've had issues finding primers and foundations that play well together. A lot of foundations don't really like certain primers. I'd love a video where you pair primers and foundations!
I completely agree! I've got combo skin, and I frequently run into issues if I use both a mattifying primer and foundation. This would help those of us who want to venture outside of our typical primers and foundations, but don't know how to do it!
MomNMe Beauty Same, I have combination skin and there's so many options for pairing them together. I'm also trying to find a good oil free moisturizer or primer to use during the summer because it gets really humid where I live.
Jessica! Please dont get rid of the pixi primer just because the price is similar to the mac strobe cream. If its just as good of a product, then its a great cruelty free/ more natural product to refer to for those of us who don't buy from mac. ❤
You really are the most honest person to listen too. Sometimes you're so honest it makes my chest tight lmao I'm like holy shit shit just got real. LOVE YOU!
you should do a week of primers or like primer Fridays, where you just try new primers that way you would have a reason to make yourself try all the different primers!
I could watch ur videos allllll day Jessica. When I watch other declutter videos I'm always like, noooo that's not how Jessica does it lol. I adore you!
Jessica, I think if you buy the pep start in the smaller size it comes in a squeeze tube. And I ❤️ your everyday makeup drawer series, I vote to bring those videos back 😻😻😻
TO ME the entire point of a declutter video is to hear what you have to say in greater detail about each product in your collection and if it's even worth keeping anymore regardless of how much you throw out. Right away you said you planned to keep a lot.. then you get complaints on how this isn't a declutter.. it's a collection... as if this isn't apart of a series and people would have came for you if you didn't include your primers for the declutter series. So for some reason everyone has to remind you of what you already said. You got rid of some, good enough. Love ya Jess! I really needed some advice on primers, your explanations were very helpful, and primers can be really difficult to explain!
Maybe do a massive review and declutter of those you kept to try out? I'm imagining like those follow up hauls some youtubers do that just... Like a follow up on the declutter. Gives you even more of a reason to use the products and make up your mind about them.
I like the way you did this one! I feel like sometimes people get rid of things just because they feel like they have to but I like that you kept around things you still need to try
In your declutters it would be awesome if after you decide what you are keeping you could pick out like your 'ride or die' products. Maybe pick 2-3 that if you could only keep 3 products from your declutter what would they be.
hi Jessica! I love your channel. I think it may have been better to delay your primer declutter until after you'd tried all of them. or only included ones you'd tried with different foundations.
i disagree with the oily skin not wearing oils before makeup! most oily skin is oily because it's dehydrated! The best thing imo for oily skin is to pack on oils before bed. slather on rose hip oil until you look like a greasy mess, rub it in, and go to sleep. you'll wake up with such hydrated and smooth skin! a drop of the smash box oil on the oily parts has always helped me keep my oily nose at bay, since it tricks the skin into believing "oh, i already have oil on my face! no reason to make more!" of course to each his own.
This minimalist loves you for these declutter videos. 🙌🏻 Always impressed by your cutthroat approach yet still fulfilling end results full of variety. 💗
I think when you have so many high end primers it makes sense to keep THOSE over the cheap ones like ELF because the ingredients soaking into your body are better quality.
I love that u swatched everything as u went along, very helpful to see consistencies and colors. Great declutter! Whether u get rid of tons or not it's still satisfying to watch 🙂
NYX Pore Filler honestly changed my life. I have combo skin, so my oily nose is covered with large pores and dry skin patches. I put on the NYX Hydratouch primer (which is just like the Smashbox one), then use the Pore Filler in my problem areas. Even helps diminish my forehead lines! It's blurring and makes your skin soft, but not powdery like the PoreFessional. Absolutely worth the $14!!!
I have to defend you on this one. This is what you do, so thinking about it in this perspective it isn't a lot. You are doing this for us. So we don't have to go out and buy all these products and go through wasting money and break outs. So I give a big thank you. You are the first beauty guru I watched on you tube and still to this day are my favorite. Please keep on doing what you do for me and all of your fans who love you. ❤️😬
I love de cluttering. It calms my anxiety about having so much. Currently I'm stuck between wanting to declutter so much of my wardrobe and makeup collection, but I also have to keep stuff for freelance makeup artist/modeling shoots. It stresses me out to have so much that I'm not constantly using.
the primer oil is really good for winter. I use it on the bottom on my nose when it starts getting irritated. helps prevent chapping. I have the mini version, and I'm not even close to finishing it
I have VERY oily skin and I have been trying the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil for a few months now. I find that when I put the smallest amount onto my skin after my moisturizer, my face is much less oily throughout the day. You can also add to tiny amount onto your face to act as a highlighter!
Catrice is amazing. Try their camouflage concealer or their eyeshadows. Their mascaras are bomb, I recomend any of the Glam Doll something range! Wooohoooo
Kristina Bayer You're absolutely right! Also, their eyeshadows are really good as well. In my country, they have big paletes as well apart from their single pans, i don't know if they have it in USA too. But they are a quite good brand!
I swear that this declutter series is one of your biggest moneymakers lol, at least in my case! If I want something to play in the background, it's almost always this playlist.
I totally feel you with the struggle declutters. I've got a jewelry declutter coming up on my channel soon that . . . well, I'm just disappointed I didn't get rid of more.
Jessica, here is the primer question I have that I did not find the answer to in this video. What primer(s) actually help my foundation stay on longer? I use two (sometimes three 🙄) setting sprays - mac fix+ to kind of "melt" the powders into my skin (I've been using the new Milani one in its stead lately and it's been working REALLY well), and then I use the All Nighter from Urban Decay or the setting spray the Wet and Wild makes or the NYX one or the one from Ulta (ok - I have a LOT - but generally I use All Nighter) and seriously, my foundation is basically gone by third period (I'm a teacher and that's when I have time to go to the bathroom 😂 - so 10:00ish) - that's AWFUL wear time - i want to try the Kat Von D setting spray bc I hear that it's great (and it's supposed to "lock it" right? 😄), but I also feel like I need a primer that is going to help my makeup "stick" better. What do you recommend for that? Thanks! And hey, have a great weekend and RELAX...ISTEP is over! I left 7th grade ELA after 16 years to get away from ISTEP and took a job at a high school....and of COURSE, this would be the year that 10th graders have to start taking it again and guess what grade I'm teaching....yep....sophomores 🙄
Mi have oily skin and I find the smash box oil primer to actually work really well with full coverage foundations so that they don't get cakey AND it actually doesn't make me oily. Gives a nice glow without being greasy. I love it. If you ever want to get rid of it I will gladly take it off your hands!!!
Atypical Beauty13 was wondering the same thing. I purchased it but I'm not really reaching for it as much as I thought I was going to after many youtubers reviews.
Catrice makes awesome primers! I have the pink Beautifying Prime & Fine, as well as both the jar & stick forms of the pore filling primers. Love how all of them make my skin look with makeup!
Hi Jessica! I have a question for you. I've never primed my skin before putting on makeup. I just always did my makeup the way my mom taught me and I'm trying to learn how to do it like most everyone else does. What one would you recommend as a affordable primer?
I luv the Maybeline shiney primer with pink writing(forget name), as well as the Maybeline creamy one. The white one is great for dry skin. The shiney one gives me a healthy glow to my skin. I foreal use that one year round!
I am in love with the Korres Gold ! I have oily skin and I love how it doesn't feel oily but it still beautifully preps the skin. Also really enjoying the Clinique Pep Start glad to hear someone else is a fan :)
I personally use primers 5 days a week since I wear makeup to work. So I totally think it's okay to keep a lot of those you actually use because you'll go through those pretty quick.
I'm not sure you need to try another primer, but if you like the Cinique one, you should try the Superprimer from the brand. It comes in different shades or formulations (white, yellow for color correcting, etc.) and it's the BEST primer I've tried (and I have tried a lot!!!). Wonderful results and not so expensive comparing with others high end brands!
even i love the Catrice one,the mattifying one ,I'm yet to try, though i have used it on my T zone twice...but now ,thanks to you,I know, which to get,as I wanna get more.
My friend told me a way to use the Laura mercier primer is to combine the primer with the foundation in1:1, which can make the final look and the lasting power better
The This Works primer is pretty bomb for dry skin. It is thicker and really hugs the skin. It's really expensive though so I'd like to know if you have a dupe, maybe the rx hangover? I haven't tried it.
I love the Smashbox primer oil, but I use it a little differently. I add a drop to any foundations that I that are a bit more matte than I would prefer, or if I have a foundation that is clinging to my dry patches. I love the Marc Jacobs Remarcable but it is too matte for me. I add the primer oil to it and I get the super full coverage, but with a bit more glow. Same with the KVD lock it foundation.
I noticed the Milk Blur Stick was not included in this video. Would you consider that to be a primer? I know you loved that product and was considering purchasing it.
I have one favorite primer at the moment (and 2 backups) - the Wet and Wild Coverall primer. I love that stuff, and it's only $4.99! My makeup looks amazing all day. I also have a travel size of the FAB Smoothie primer. However, I only use it if I'm not going to where makeup as I don't like how my makeup looks over it. Tried the NYX pore filler awhile back, but it did not work for me. It actually made my skin look dry.
I love the primer oil. and I have normal combo skin. just 2-3 drops worked into the skin and let it skin in. I even use it again after my foundation dropped into a beauty blender and blended out
You inspired me to declutter my collection! I am so proud of myself for getting rid of things that I don't really like/ use... I'm seriously so happy that I found you on youtube! I tell everyone about how amazing you are lol :D
You should try mixing the Smashbox primer oil in with your foundation. I mix a drop or 2 in when I put in my foundation, and it makes my skin look flawless.
Hey, Jessica! I was wondering if you could help me. I'm also a teacher, but I often stay at the school past 6pm. I have combination skin, but have barely ever tried any primers. Any time I did, my makeup was harder to blend, and ended up patchier in the end of the day than without the primer. Which ones are the most long-lasting for you, and do they all mend well with the foundation you put overtop, or do some separate quicker? Thanks!
Ivanna 101 I have combination skin, and love the NYX angel veil, or Tarte smooth operator. Most of the time though I just use the it cosmetics CC cream it is like all in one and great coverage.
I never wear primers. What is a inexpensive primer that will give my face a glow? something that I can wear alone or with foundation? I like my face to look super dewy. Thanks!
Every time you mention the Nyx pore filler I get jealous because that just doesn't work for me! My favorite pore filler is the Tarte Clean Slate Smoothing Primer! And I love the Too Faced Hangover Rx for a hydrating primer also!!!
Wildflower Liz the pore filler really only works on top of late pores like around your cheeks by the nose. You just tap it in until it disappears. Don't use it on your whole face.
i never understand why people get grossed out by weird applicators like the flower beauty one or the maybelline age rewind concealer and still continue to use doe foot applicator concealers?? like.. its the same thing? and if youre just using it on yourself not like multiple clients and you know your face and hands are clean.. whats the big deal?? lmao
Stick with the NYX Pore Filler, it doesn't contain any bad ingredients like the Porefessional. And it is a lot cheaper 😀 I'm trying out the Smashbox Blemish Control Primer and even though I don't have many blemishes (I do have really sensitive skin and rosacea) I like it so far. The next one I'm gonna try will be the Clinique Universal Superprimer.
Your declutter videos are seriously addicting! Thank you for always being a honest youtuber 💕
i agree i cant stop watching them lol im like GET RID OF MORESSS lol sry im crazy.. lol great vid Jess keep up the good work :D xo
Taylor rosenfield I was about to say the same! If she had not said she was a schoolteacher I would've thought she was a news reporter or a radio host she just has that very distinct voice
Taylor rosenfield seriously, UA-cam's best declutter videos!
I've had issues finding primers and foundations that play well together. A lot of foundations don't really like certain primers. I'd love a video where you pair primers and foundations!
This is a great idea. Matching the bases makes sense but it would be nice to see what other people like pairing together.
I completely agree! I've got combo skin, and I frequently run into issues if I use both a mattifying primer and foundation. This would help those of us who want to venture outside of our typical primers and foundations, but don't know how to do it!
Yes please! I have no idea how to do this, but I feel it would help me when I get the sweats!
MomNMe Beauty Same, I have combination skin and there's so many options for pairing them together. I'm also trying to find a good oil free moisturizer or primer to use during the summer because it gets really humid where I live.
I love the Mac Strobe Cream on its own, however it SEPERATES my bb cream/foundation like crazy. It all balls and cakes up 😕
I like the way you talk, you don't sound like you're trying to sound a certain way like a lot of beauty gurus do
Pore'fect timing.... heading to Ulta this morning, and adding the NYX primer to my list 🛍
Vicki De Vesta NYX is BOGO today too!
Jessica! Please dont get rid of the pixi primer just because the price is similar to the mac strobe cream. If its just as good of a product, then its a great cruelty free/ more natural product to refer to for those of us who don't buy from mac. ❤
Krystah Garcia MAC is cruelty free now! if you read on their website
Nozomi Tojo MAC continues to sell their product in China and China still tests on animals.
Krystah Garcia Yes, I couldn't agree more!!!
barefoot4life 1985 yes, you're absolutely right. I'm just always hoping that the cruelty free products will "win".
Alison Gilman im pretty sure they're pulling out of china? you can read on their site they don't test on animals any longer
Joanna Moody That would be an awsome idea for a new series to start!
I could watch ur videos allllll day Jessica. When I watch other declutter videos I'm always like, noooo that's not how Jessica does it lol. I adore you!
Can you do a video where you show us your travel drawer?
Jessica, I think if you buy the pep start in the smaller size it comes in a squeeze tube. And I ❤️ your everyday makeup drawer series, I vote to bring those videos back 😻😻😻
TO ME the entire point of a declutter video is to hear what you have to say in greater detail about each product in your collection and if it's even worth keeping anymore regardless of how much you throw out. Victoria Cook-Cranton she usually picks up her very favorites right in the beginning before going through the rest one by one.
Your declutter videos are my favorite series on UA-cam!! I love it sooo much!!
The Peter Thomas Roth 24 K Gold lotion is soooo good under foundation. It hydrates really well and gives a beautiful glow. I adore it!
hi Jessica! I love your channel. I think it may have been better to delay your primer declutter until after you'd tried all of them. or only included ones you'd tried with different foundations.
Agree
Bring back Everyday Makeup Drawer series!!!!! I love those since you started the trend! ❤️
Could you do 30 days of different primers?
I don't know why but it feels like it has been weeks since you uploaded the last time :) I've been waiting for this video
Oh, you should try the Nyx Angel Veil primer! love it!!!
Lesley Anne Perez I have try to love this primer but everytime I use it it's like only oil comes out first and runny idk what can I do so it works
mrzramirez01 perhaps try shaking It for a few seconds?
Yes, shake for a few seconds :)
Is that better for dry or oily skin? Mine is more combination but slightly on the oily side.
It is more for dry skin coz it is a hydrating primer :) it also blurs imperfections
i disagree with the oily skin not wearing oils before makeup! most oily skin is oily because it's dehydrated! So many primers!! This is one category I don't have a lot of!
+Samantha March I don't know how my collection got this big 😂
Your declutter videos are by far the best! I always stop to watch. I never get the same experience while watching someone else's. ❤
Yes! I love when you upload a video before I get ready. You are often playing in the background during my morning routine!
I love the in transit primer! It's hydrating and then gets tacky so I find my makeup ends up sticking very well to it.
Allie T yes yes yes!!!
finally.. something to watch after pulling an all nighter
This minimalist loves you for these declutter videos. 🙌🏻
Always impressed by your cutthroat approach yet still fulfilling end results full of variety. 💗
I think when you have so many high end primers it makes sense to keep THOSE over the cheap ones like ELF because the ingredients soaking into your body are better quality.
Julie Barnes high end doesn't always mean the ingredients are better they just cost more that's why they keep it lmao
Jennifer Cruz yeah it typically does.
Julie Barnes yeah but not always
I love that u swatched everything as u went along, very helpful to see consistencies and colors. Great declutter! Whether u get rid of tons or not it's still satisfying to watch 🙂
Thank you for sharing about the Pixi Glowtion! I've been looking for a cruelty free alternative to the MAC strobe cream!
That TooFaced Hangover primer is the best for my combo skin. It has really helped reduce my shine on my face when I where foundation. LOVE IT!
I love these videos + you must be the best primed girl in America! That is A LOT of primer!!!!
"Feeling Splurgy" new fave phrase! Another great video!!! Keep the Declutters coming!!
the primer oil is really good for winter. I use it on the bottom on my nose when it starts getting irritated. helps prevent chapping.
I have the mini version, and I'm not even close to finishing it
You're so pretty and it's awesome that you're able to upload so often even though you work a full time job
Wooohoooo
Also, could you try and review the Missha bb boomer? It is just over 10$ at KoreaDepart
Kristina Bayer where can you get catrice?
McKennaxMcKenna ulta... My store doesn't have it, but it's on ulta.com. ;)
Amy McMahel thanks!
Yay! I knew there was a reason I couldn't sleep. I'm glad I didn't go to sleep. I love your declutters.
Jessica, here is the primer question I have that I did not find the answer to in this video. What primer(s) actually help my foundation stay on longer? These videos are addicting. And i totally get it, I have a billion primers and I love them all. This and Eyeshadow is such a tough declutter for me!
Mi have oily skin and I find the smash box oil primer to actually work really well with full coverage foundations so that they don't get cakey AND it actually doesn't make me oily. Gives a nice glow without being greasy. I love it. If you ever want to get rid of it I will gladly take it off your hands!!!
I love how honest you are about everything!! I'm actually looking for a good primer but this video is perfect 👌 thanks Jess
Did you film this before the milk blur stick primer video
Atypical Beauty13 was wondering the same thing. I purchased it but I'm not really reaching for it as much as I thought I was going to after many youtubers reviews.
I adore you Jessica thank you so much for making amazing content
Thanks Allison!!!
Here's an idea, you could do a snap series as you try these with reviews and declutter as you go....
The Thisworks primer/moisturizer/mask is uhhhmaaaazing. I want yo buy the full size! So expensive but so moisturizing!!! Love the smell too!
I love how you start right away with these videos Jess 💕
Great video!
Do you have a video with products you love for dry skin - particularly primer, foundation type stuff?
That bronze by terry one might work well on your neck when your foundation is to dark if they are a similar undertone.
after you've tried these I would love a best primer video there are so many and I'm never sure what to try
Also really enjoying the Clinique Pep Start glad to hear someone else is a fan :)
you are supposed to mix the primer oil in with your foundation... like a drop or two
Delaney Piantanida you can and it works great that way, but the instructions suggest that you apply it to your face before foundation.
I personally use primers 5 days a week since I wear makeup to work. So I totally think it's okay to keep a lot of those you actually use because you'll go through those pretty quick.

Love your declutters. I understand being grossed out by that brush tube thing, but how is that any different than a doefoot?
My friend told me a way to use the Laura mercier primer is to combine the primer with the foundation in1:1, which can make the final look and the lasting power better
The This Works primer is pretty bomb for dry skin. It is thicker and really hugs the skin. It's really expensive though so I'd like to know if you have a dupe, maybe the rx hangover? I haven't tried it.

Hi Jessica. I watched the video and I am looking for a moisturizing primer. Would the e.l.f. One be a good drugstore one over any of the other ones?
I love the primer oil. and I have normal combo skin. just 2-3 drops worked into the skin and let it skin in. I even use it again after my foundation dropped into a beauty blender and blended out
I think I need to look into getting the Smashbox oil primer. my skin is so very dry. Thanks for another great video!
I have oily skin and I used a smashbox primer oil sample as a serum at night - it worked well! 😊❤️
You forgot your Milk Makeup blur stick!!
You inspired me to declutter my collection! I am so proud of myself for getting rid of things that I don't really like/ use... I'm seriously so happy that I found you on youtube! I tell everyone about how amazing you are lol :D
I've been binge watching your declutter videos!!! Love you Jessica!!!
Hey Jess, maybe you should try combining the By Terry primer with the Clinique primer/moisturizer. That might be a match made in heaven.
You should try mixing the Smashbox primer oil in with your foundation. I mix a drop or 2 in when I put in my foundation, and it makes my skin look flawless.
Yes, I love your declutter POV (point of view) videos. So fun to watch.
primer goals!!! the hangoverRX is my Holy grail.. I want to try the new one from First aid beauty it looks like a winner.
Hey, Jessica! I was wondering if you could help me.
I'm also a teacher, but I often stay at the school past 6pm. I have combination skin, but have barely ever tried any primers. Ivanna 101 I have combination skin, and love the NYX angel veil, or Tarte smooth operator. Most of the time though I just use the it cosmetics CC cream it is like all in one and great coverage.
Ivanna 101 use a setting spray too
I never wear primers. What is a inexpensive primer that will give my face a glow? something that I can wear alone or with foundation? I like my face to look super dewy. Thanks!
Wow can't wait to see the next time you declutter primers! No way you could ever use those all before they expire lol!
I just posted my declutter on 62, yes 62, primers. I had to break it into two parts!
Ok, so if you were going to purchase a primer which one would it be? I need a new one and now I'm confused!
The new Becca purple primer reminds me of how you talked about the Boscia
I love declutter videos its like a comparison of all the products so you can make a shopping list lol
I really love the Lancome La Base Pro primer. Its expensive but SO worth it for my skin.
Really wanted to try the too faced hangover primer. Now I'm getting it for sure.
I remember you liking the milk blur stick but that was not in this video. Do you not consider it a primer?
I use one drop of the Smashbox oil primer mixed with my Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation and it gives it a beautiful finish.
which primer do you think extends the wear of your makeup the best?
Every time you mention the Nyx pore filler I get jealous because that just doesn't work for me! My favorite pore filler is the Tarte Clean Slate Smoothing Primer! And I love the Too Faced Hangover Rx for a hydrating primer also!!!
Wildflower Liz the pore filler really only works on top of late pores like around your cheeks by the nose. You just tap it in until it disappears. Don't use it on your whole face.
Liz Martin yup that's exactly where I try it but it doesn't fill my pores!
hi jessica!! whats your opinion about the elf primer you showed in comparison to the older elf primers??
Woot! Woot! I am so early! Luvyah Jess!
Love you right back!!
this actually really helped me...
i need a new pore filling primer.. gonna try the nyx.... thanks 💜
i never understand why people get grossed out by weird applicators like the flower beauty one or the maybelline age rewind concealer and still continue to use doe foot applicator concealers?? like.. its the same thing? and if youre just using it on yourself not like multiple clients and you know your face and hands are clean.. whats the big deal?? lmao
Cheyanne Lopez I was thinking maybe the bristles can just be cut off with a scissor turning it into a basic squeezy tube.
The This Works primer is amazing! Apparently Victoria Beckham swears by it.
