I honestly never thought that my favorite music reactor would go on an anime journey. Around a month ago, a thought crossed my mind, what if Jon Denton started reacting to Attack on Titan, and a month later here you are! Also, like everyone else is saying, this show is simply an experience. It's honestly on the level of shows like Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad. Enjoy it to the fullest :D
it's beyond GoT easily and better that BB but that one is at least in the same tier as AoT

Bro what the actual fuck. i got goosebumps. i dont watch shows but these are the shows that are the greatest to me apart from game of thrones. favorite anime is AOT. i cant watch anything else...favorite show breaking bad cant watch anything else
This is actually the second Music Reaction Channel I've watched transform into an Anime Reaction Channel. They start by reacting to anime music and next thing they know they are full blown otaku.

Just so you know up front - you *will* be confused during this show *a lot* . Part of the point of the presentation of this story is that the viewer only knows as much as the main characters do, so your confusion is *their* confusion, and the importance of imperfect knowledge and skewed perspectives is central.
Just know that everything in the story, short of a few fairly minor details, gets explained in a way which is consistent and satisfying. It's a show where you realize afterwards that they've been showing you a bigger picture the whole time, right from the first episode, it was just literally impossible to pick up on it beforehand. You'll have the best time with this series if you just go with it, let yourself empathize with the characters' lack of knowledge and the stress/fear that comes with it, and accept that the writer knows what they're doing - their foreshadowing and hindsight game here is about as good as it gets for any media.
Also, avoid spoilers like the plague, moreso than you would for other shows. Don't even google anything about the show because the stuff is so prevalent you can accidentally stumble across it without really trying.
This is THE anime for the 'anime is for kids' crowd that fall under the impression because it's animated it's kid-friendly.
It's also a great starter anime for adults since there is so much intrigue woven into the story and characters. You eventually get answers to your questions, often with the result being even MORE questions.
Just a little clarification on why Eren and Mikasa's hometown was designed to draw in titans. These walls are massive, and they are basically the size of a medium sized country. the infographic didnt properly show the scale of these walls, so to avoid having these military scouts to search and repair the perimiter walls every day for damage, there are 4 towns that bud outside the walls with their own massive walls, so the military will have an easier time mantaining the wall instead of having to search an entire country's size parimiter to look for damaged in thw wall.
It was a really good tactic. if there was ever a breach, they would evacuate and close off the wall to the city. instead of loosing a whole layer of wall, they'd just loose a town. It was originally supposed to work, but they didnt count on some massive titan kicking down the second gate..
This show is so complex and well thought out - all your questions will be answered in due time
As someone who hasn't watched season 1 for a couple of years, I'm lowkey shocked how much was hinted at/revealed in these first 2 episodes alone
Can't wait for you to get to the first real arc after these "setting the stage" episodes

Loving the AOT reactions! I do like how in some spots you left the subtitles so we can at least know what's being said. I know copyright messes things up, but leaving the subs up even when you have to block the rest of the screen would be awesome to keep up. Thanks again for these reactions :)

Each season has their own themes throughout the whole running story and blends so well in the overarching storyline it’s a masterpiece 🔥 you won’t regret it

AOT is a masterpiece, the voice acting and OST are genuinly the best I’ve heard. I just bought an expensive tv and all of the show (that’s currently out) on blu-ray, good lord

Honestly i wouldn't even look at comments while you watch this. They might not be spoilers but they ruin the mystery and surprise by telling you what to expect and when there is foreshadowing.
The titan that charged through the wall was releasing steam, because his body heat is so high after running like that.
Without any spoilers this show has one of the best plot twists and foreshadowings in any fiction.

Omg and not only do you pay attention but you actually bring up the political and historical implications and themes. So refreshing. A lot of younger people I've watched never make the connection to Japan's experience of being nuked and how that affected so much of their media. Really excited to see what you think of the whole story.
7:59 rewatching this show via your reaction is crazy, they really did put a good amount of emphasis on making the world alive, the young girl here comes back later a little older. You can really only tell via the haircut/color.

Yes, Chekhov's Gun is a great thing to relate to here. Everything in the story has meaning. Names, places, people, small details that you miss in the background... everything comes back to take its rightful place in greater detail later.

Hiroyuki Sawano composes the music for the first 3 seasons of the show. It's incredible. Quite possibly the best soundtrack i've heard for any show.

Nothing makes me happier than hearing this man praise the music so much. But makes sense as his main channel is about examining music. So few mention anything about this incredible score.
Fall of outter wall basicaly gave up all that territory to titans... so soon food shortages began, as reminder of the land humans had under their control wasn't enoug to feed everyone.

In my opinion, Attack on Titan's basement might be the single most hyped-up, hard-won, and satisfying Chekov's Gun ever written. And you have to remember that for us anime fans, Series 1 came out in 2013. Due to long delays between seasons, we didn't find out what was in the basement until 2019!

@@phononanon You literally stated when the reveal was revealed. That creates expectation. And that is very much the same as spoiling.
Indirect spoiling/hinting is frowned upon, and many (me included) see it as direct spoiling.
The fact that you're now speaking of whatever they find inside also eludes to the fact that they actually make it there, which again, creates expectation. Is it set up in the show? absolutely, but you don't know for certain. So let's not eliminate the possibilities for the viewer, and let them enjoy it with as little knowledge as possible.

The town where eren lives was designed to be the sorta "bait" for the Titans in order for the Titans to only focus on that part of the walls and so there is less maintenance.

Loving the reactions, I have a suggestion tho. Decrease the transparency of the video to like 20-30% and you'll be fine with copyright issues or you could partially block it. Completely removing it kinda ruins the viewing experience, just an opinion, a lot of other reactors do the same and they're okay so far 😭

if you like fighting you can watch Hajime no ippo (boxing), god of highschool (MMA semi fantasy), Baki (MMA semi Fantasy)
for me maybe those 3 is the fighting anime who using a little bit of technique from real life
and btw, god of highschool a series (comic/manhwa) is from korean but the anime is created by japanese company

Try to catch up to the last episode so that you can join all of us waiting for it later this year ❤ That being said, while AoT is a MASTERPIECE of an anime.. Please don't show it to your 12-year-old. As you go along you'll see why. AoT is one of the anime I actually wouldn't recommend to under 18s... Because honestly, even 16 years old is a stretch. Have a great day :)

The other Titan was not skinless, he was armored, and MUCH smaller, he wasn't peaking over the wall.

I personally dont like the fire breathing at 5:40 that was added in the anime. The Titan didnt have this abbility in the orginal Manga.

yeah that is true but Hajime Isayama drew a lot of inspiration from his own experience, and the lot of themes in Attack on Titan resonated with him due to his childhood
It's actually Shiganshina, the CR sub is a lil wonky tbh
not everything is an allegory here. there are nods and references but for the most AOT is attempting to be its own unique story. try not to read too much into it or be too analogous with the real world. enjoy it for what it is.

if u like sci fi n political drama/warfare etc highly recommend Gundam franchise or if u like historical fantasy fiction Fate series is fantastic
