The Cars were before my time but that doesn't mean someone my age or anyone of any age can't appreciate great music like their's or any other amazing band's!!! Gotta give a shout out to my mom for introducing me to so many amazing band's growing up because they don't make music nowadays like they did year's ago!!! The Cars are epic!!
Every time I hear this tune I think of my wee dog. Well she was my parents dog before they both passed away in 2017. Their wee dog has been by my side every day since then, talked me out of some dark crazy ideas over the years, forced me outta the house to talk to people 😊
Still trying to figure out how people get; "It's not the perfume that you wear It's not the rabbits in your hair And I don't mind you comin' here And wastin' all my time" out of "It's not the perfume that you wear It's not the ribbons in your hair And I don't mind you comin' here And wastin' all my time".❤❤❤😂😂😂
I have always associated the early Cars songs with 1981 because that's when I would listen to them. But they are from the late 1970's albeit they sound more like early 1980's songs to me.
I can relate. It was early 1980 and my girlfriend I loved so very much married someone else. So I turned to rock music (not disco) to fill the void created by lack of leading ladies in my life. This group, and this song in particular, were at the forefront.
Every day, I listen to this, I just love this song that much! This song is just perfect, every thing in it is perfect, IT’S JUST SO PERFECT! (Edit: Now it’s a year or so later, still love this song. Never gonna forget it for sure.)
This takes me back to good childhood memories! Cleaning the house with my mum, music blaring!!! Dancing with not a care in the world! Hair brush in hand! ❤️
Good ear Tibbz1313. Good music always has the chance of eternal listening, but great bands with an even greater catalogue will never die. Long live The Cars! Only thing you did miss was the times and what was going on out there and then wham, these guys, just busted, I mean just busted out there on the the scene. Their rise was fast. Their sound was made now, and it was a rocket for the moon. The genius of Ric Ocasek and bringing Ben Orr to the table and assembling great musicians especially my fav, Elliot Easton, hands down, one of the most noted solo guitar artist of all time, was phenomenal. Ya either loved em or liked em. I can’t remember anyone ever saying, I don’t like the cars. Still, as I listen today I pick up on new things and am more in awe than even back then. RIP RIC and BEN
I can't believe this song came out in 1978. I feel quite old at 63. Came to listen because Scotty Mar10 played it on his latest video on Rumble & my audio wasn't working there. Thank you.
Well I am fan all this type of music like 70,80,90,2000 love grunge and love rock like good legends favorite bands all time Stone temple pilots , nirvana , audislave like sun garden others and clásica the cars ♥️♥️♥️👊
Just found your channel today. It’s amazing to me I’ve found someone in the world with the same taste (almost exactly!) as me. Love the way you do your lyrics! Don’t change A THING! Thank you!
English Tuition Well my sister is 16years older and she sure as HELL don’t like my music! I get the love of the 70’s from all them... but the metal is ALL ME! And just to give you an idea... Anthrax got me here, Queenrÿche keep me here and Little River Band got you the subscribe! And 2 hours later, I’m STILL here!
It's a euphemism for feeling strong empathy for someone. To feel for a person so acutely that you feel their pain as your own; as in, you figuratively bleed for them. In the song he has found someone to share that with. "So bleed me" means he wants them to open up and share their deepest secrets and pains with him.
Translate it and maybe you could understand. Excelente cancion.
The older I get, the more I love their music, their sound, and the intelligence of the lyrics.

I first heard this song when I was driving to work when I was 18. It's a beautifully written song. A+
Ric was a legend, he was great on the cars and helped weezer get to their stardom

Ben orr is gone, but her song is still in our heart and our mind. I think Ben is still alive.. a very good voice and perfect for us RIP
His song i mean sorry
He will live in our hearts forever and his music as well…
" The one thing I always hated about Santa Carla, are all the damn vampires..." This song would have been more fitting for the Lost Boys.
I guess you’re right...
Cool.

Thanks! Great song great man, we miss him!
Mainly the first albums
So bleed me.
love this, completely forgot the name of this (for some reason, lol) and i haven’t listened in forever! great graphics too 😍
Great song without any questions!
I know the Buggles usually get the credit for ushering in the '80's, but in my opinion this is the first song of the 1980's. This is not a 1978 sound.
There’s nothing more 80’s than this
I kind of overlooked this song in 1978 but it started to grow on me in February 1980.
Thank you so much for this post!
That might be just what i needed to bus
Para mi la mejor canción de the cars
Gustavo Seminario García - Para mi también
Totalmente de acuerdo con ustedes....!!
La mejor....
La mejor de The cars, y de las mejores de todos los tiempos.
@@miguelsaldana7815 Me quedo con LET S GO!

Metaphors perhaps

Morder 70 - I’m sure we both grew up with this music and a little bit of influence from an older sibling.
English Tuition Grew up in 70’s with 4 older brothers and 1 sister. (She gave me old country) but you nailed it!
Morder 70 - On second thougjt, it is amazing, not even my sister likes the same songs Ido and she’s only a year older.

That was one ugly movie
1978
They sound a lot like The Who
I haven’t done anything from The Who. Thanks for reminding me.
Thabks Bob's burgers lmao
OK so what does that mean? I needed someone to bleed. So bleed me? What's that all about?? What are they
Sweeney Todd?
Sounds like it…
