    What if 10 foot sides are wanted?

    • @hudsonsoul1121
      @hudsonsoul1121 11 місяців тому +1

      10 foot sides. 10 foot x 45(degrees) sin equals 7foot and 7\8. 7foot and 7\8 x 2 equals 14foot 1inch and 11\16. Add the 10foot equals 24 feet 1inch and 11\16 which will be your span.
      Hope this makes sense even if l am 2 years late. Alternatively just add 141.6% to your side length.

    Octagon lengths = span(1800) - 58.6%
    Example 1800 span
    -58.6%
    1054.8
    =745.2

    That is hard to do in the construction field, you can get the same thing using the hypotenuse of the main square

    • @hudsonsoul1121
      @hudsonsoul1121 11 місяців тому

      Subtract 58.6% from span (parallel sides, not points) and this will give your length and then you can mitre the 22.5.

    • @gprooftheory
      @gprooftheory 11 місяців тому

      You can minus D from the hypotenuse Q to S x 1.414 = S to F the distance left over from Q to S x 2 = G to F
