When a person won Olympic gold, he/she remains olympic champion... Forever. That being said, I don't understand all the hate towards Netrebko... She may not sounds like she sounded 10 years ago, but back then she was one of the greatest sopranos... And now so many of you trying to take from her all that she has accomplished just because you don't like the way she sings in now... That kind of behavior and mindset is pathetic. Whether you like it or not, her name will remain among The Greatest because she once was and no one could take that away from her.
Wrong. When I saw her in I Puritani over a decade ago I had to leave the theatre because it was that bad. I had absolutely no negative feelings for her at the time. In fact, I was excited to hear this singer everyone was talking about. Her voice has always been problematic, and future generations will forget her soon enough because of it.
Her voice does sound more dramatic than before, and the audience wants the young Netrebko back. They will judge, criticize, and behave as though they were real experts. If you don't like her singing now, just don't listen. You don't have to. But how can you be so mean to Anna, who has been singing for decades? I think that JEALOUS people take pleasure in judging the great ones. And she has a right to sing as she likes, and to choose the repertoire.

It speaks poorly of the management that we’re receiving this little concert series with megastars while the orchestra and chorus haven’t been paid in almost a year. Yes, we’re all starved for art right now, but it will be back. In the meantime, it should be incumbent upon management to prioritize paying those on staff who are living through a financial crisis than to pay superstars with far greater financial stability through a pandemic.
The Gelb-Netrebko-Putin administration may close the entire house. Unlike other musicians, orchestra is not paid, they change profession, it is a shame to sing at the Met, and the grand reopening has gone woke with music no one wants to hear.

Yes, Netrebko is still a lyric soprano. She does dramatic roles - with poor technique and great, obvious strain. But a dramatic soprano Netrebko will never be. She simply and totally lacks the instrument. Loud, coarse, and crude does not equal dramatic soprano. It is just BAD singing.

So true. Anna is the Callas of 21st century. And at the epoque of Callas, people used to say that she has no technique and now she is memorable. The same happens with Anna. She is incredible but jealous people say bad things. Never mind. They lose from this artistry. Bad for them😃😃

But no matter....people had opinions regarding everyone, whether they had a 25 year career on opera stages or no. She will still make her Mark👍🏾👍🏾😝
No she wont
she’s really got her wobble under control! she was really struggling there for a few years
But she hasn't got her intonation under control
@@annedanotha-thing2509 yeah.. it’s sad because i think she’s one of those people think “oh, the older i get the more dramatic i can sing” and then it all just turns to shit. i would expect more of her and her knowledge of how her voice works
@@lamb4mc Hahaha, I love coming to the UA-cam comment section on Netrebkos' videos. It just kills me of laughter. You guys are so right!
How can she remove that Whobble? She is only supporting it by singing to heavy roles for her voice. She is a soprano lirico but she Sings also very heavy roles...
What? She's wobbling on all high notes.
It’s so disappointing seeing many of you guys slander her. It’s completely disrespectful . Let’s not forget people gain weight as they get older , and not everyone performs perfectly every time. Let her be. Appreciate good music while it lasts.
Yesss! Totally agree! Thank you
Wow Anna everyday you ae better and better love this
Are you sure? ua-cam.com/video/DkTTO859eJE/v-deo.html
Anna is the best❤️and all of those who hate her will go to hell😒
Honestly, I am here because I watched Princes Diaries 2 and saw her and knew she was a real singer and wanted to look up her work. I enjoyed her small bit in the movie more but glad I looked her up.
Before she sang much better..
You cannot change nature of original voice- she i lyric, not dramatic , soprano.
Many low notes are bad, too much looking amateur gestures, distracting from her singing.
Beautiful as usual!
She was actually (and still should be) a coloratura
Все совершенно верно ua-cam.com/video/Y4Lat2PaUtY/v-deo.html
A little too self-indulgent for my taste.
Of course it is
2:30 that's crazy. she literally screams! poor vocal chords, she has to stop this madness! All pieces sound awful!
Exactly ua-cam.com/video/DkTTO859eJE/v-deo.html
Нельзя орать романсы русских классиков. Это не ,, Турандот "
I don't understand so many of the comments, talking about "admin" and "money", all I care about is seeing and hearing Anna. Who gives a stuff about the business behind the scenes. What's wrong with you so-called "music lovers"???
The great Anna Netrebko
Love her. To all her so called learned critics have you had a glorious career as she? Pure jealousy to many wannabe singers. She is great and in 30 odd years she will be claimed as one of the best sopranos in the same league as Callas who also had to endure heavy criticism and today she is seen as the best soprano ever( which is was). Netrebko is fabulous. Love her.💗💗💗💗
Lmao. This is funny.
So true. Anna is the Callas of 21st century. And at the epoque of Callas, people used to say that she has no technique and now she is memorable. The same happens with Anna. She is incredible but jealous people say bad things. Never mind. They lose from this artistry. Bad for them😃😃
@@johnboy8576 It's the revisionism for me.
There are greater singers than her. Lisette Oropesa can sing even on her worst days better than Russian girl.
I would argue that a great singer ought to be able to sing in tune. But I guess you are of a different opinion.
My love!!! Waiting concert!!❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏Thank you MET!🙏🙏❤️
Pay your musicians. Also, was the choice to have a concert with a notorious racist anti-masker during Black History Month and a pandemic purposeful? Anna was about the worst artist to feature right now.
She is the best, don't listen. People without a soul can't feel her.
Agree. Lost any respect I might have had after her mask comments.
She has a nazi mindset, said whoever had created mask protocols should vanish! Horrible person
@@retplanners6346 Bravo!👏👏👏So nice, so beautiful reply!!!👍👍👍🤝🤝🤝
Come on. She is not racist (because she played a browned aida ?) and not anti mask (because she said she does not wear masks on Instagram?).
I hate this cancel culture where people take everything so seriously. That's ridiculous.
Let her go sing for her Putin.
Sick head, sick false propaganda
Non sarà più la Netrebko dei primi anni ma la voce e bella e la tecnica indiscutibile.
She is an admirer and a
supporter of Vladimir Putin
She is entitled to be.
After the artistry and warmth of Joyce diDonato's streamed concert this all seems a bit detached and cheesy.
Yes, cheesy - and quite vulgar. But that is Netrebko - always.
Anna is full of grace!
The oversinging... Yikes.
Her mellow sound is so pleasing to my ears. Not harsh and brash. Sometimes a bit pitchy but I love the tone of her voice.
@Telephassa Rose meaning going slightly off pitch, mostly sharp
Off- key
Why don’t you officially dissociate from Putin???? That’s what we expect from a human and idol like you!!!!!!
Stop the witch hunt
At first: she isn‘ a witch. Second: she is human worlclass operasinger with a beautiful voice and electrifying stagepresence. Formerly one of the best!
But… for me it was always very disappointing that she supports a dictator.
But now it‘s war, initiated from Putin.
A friend of her.
Enough is enough 😢
@@blauauge2 She did make a statement on the war, but it wasn't a clear condemnation. More "I'm sorry for everyone who's dying but my country right or wrong"
@@oliverford5367 Yes, I know. For me that goes without saying, but it‘s not enough, by far.
Coś pięknego dzięki za taką pieśń i WSPANIALE wykonanie thank YOU danke merci spasiba djakuju grazie bedankt gracias Ryszard Kulesza
Awful singing!
Why?Why? Explain'd, please!😅🤫🤨😜
@@nataliakostenko9361 unfortunately, I hear a lot of technical problems and very poor intonation, as well as horrible pronunciation.
@@nataliakostenko9361 Intonation problems (both too high and too low) are the clearest and most easy to spot result of bad technique. At times too low, due to thickening the voice and faulty registration, at times too high, due to pushing to much.
Other than that, watch her jaw - it literally looks like she is chewing while singing. Great singing is dependent on a relaxed jaw. Anna's jaw is anything but relaxed.
She leaks air when she sings soft. Great singing implies the ability to sing pianissimo without leaking.
And so on...
Agree ua-cam.com/video/DkTTO859eJE/v-deo.html
Impossibile!!!!!!!!
Beautiful, as always!
Из свежего: ua-cam.com/video/Y4Lat2PaUtY/v-deo.html
This is terrible beyond measure. Stop selling her, please.
That's right ua-cam.com/video/DkTTO859eJE/v-deo.html
Bye Bye!
What happened to the Sopran by the last name of " Gruberova " ?
Spell check please ...
You speak about Edita Gruberova the amazing soprano from Slovaquia. She is 75/76 years old and she still gives some concerts
@@nicolehourcade : :))) Edita is UNEQUALLED by anyone !
She remains my favorite by far and always shall !
I saw her for the last time in Paris 6 years ago in a concert version of Bellini Norma with Sophie Koch, an unforgettable moment.
@@brooksequine7621 Edita to the rescue... Unequalled indeed. Temperament, voice, amazing acting. She got it all together.
She is 74. She retired this year. 50 years of great singing.
I'm curious about all the song titles
For the theater management: the use of a singer who has long lost her professionalism is at least immoral. Or "pecunia non olet"?
No Strauss songs for Anna Netrebko, definitely not. Wise opera singers should know which works to chose and when to step down.
I would prefer no singing at all from her.
@SuperMagren Opera is dying, and the Met is greedily digging it's grave.
Kaufmann... 🤦🏻♂️
@SuperMagren people have forgotten what opera is ans what good singing sounds like. They just applaud the designated opera star of the moment, while the managements and opera houses cash in.
True, Strauss songs require technique, masterful musicianship, depth of interpretation, etc....not things you could ever even remotely expect from a vulgar old thing like la Netrebko.
Прекрасна Анна! Привет от България!
И вам привет из Кремля ua-cam.com/video/DkTTO859eJE/v-deo.html
