  • This speedy DIY shows how to remove the front bumper cover from an Audi A4 B7. Before the bumper cover is re-installed, inspect the systems contained in the cover plus the forward facing components on the vehicle.
    Bumper steps:
    1. Remove 3 T30 Torx screws with washers holding the top of the cover to the lock carrier 00:06
    2. Remove 6 T25 Torx screws and 1 plug from both front fender liners 00:20
    3. Pull back fender liners from the front of the wheel wells 00:34
    4. Remove 2 T25 Torx screws holding the bottom of the bumper to multi-purpose brackets
    5. Remove 2 10mm nuts which hold the top of the bumper to the fender 00:43
    6. Pull lower corners of bumper cover outwards to detach their clips from the bottom of each fender 01:03
    7. Pull the entire bumper straight away from the front of the vehicle, supporting it's weight
    8. Unplug fog light and/or Homelink connectors from drivers side 01:23
    Success!
    + Grille steps:
    9. Remove 9 T20 Torx screws from the back of the grille to release it from the bumper cover 02:02

Thanks man. Just bought a B7 cab with one of those shitty hideous tacky debadged grills fitted. Got a genuine original to go straight back on now after watching this. Thank god.👍

Yeah...as much as I rally around the "if it makes you happy, it's all good" mantra, I must admit that grill mods on the B7 is a topic I have a hard time being unbiased about. I really, really think these grills need the rings and some form of plate holder to cover the crash bar behind it - even if the bar is painted black. Sadly, the B7's aren't that blessed in the face and visual changes can make giant improvements...or be a big detractor. This is all from an OEM-plus kinda guy.

I drive a 2005 Audi A4, look exactly the same, websites are telling me not compatible BUT IT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE THE SAME CAR… I just want this

i had to take my logo off of my car to spray paint the grille but in the process of doing so my emblem bracket fell apart, it was already broke and was held together by glue, so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas of where i could find a new one at because i haven’t had any luck so far. Appreciate it

Easier to get to the inner 10mm nuts if you drop the headlights out (3screws per light)

Objectively true point, Neil. That said, 2 of those 3 screws are a part of the leveling dowels for the headlight units and I personally like to avoid removing the headlights to save fiddling time down the road to adjust the lights back to a nice position in the carrier. Just a minor word of caution for those that want to take the extra step.
