Rai is such a brilliant musician and song writer. I hope the rest of the world learns how great his music is. And when I learned he was listening to Oscar Peterson, it is no wonder I became a fan of Rai. Oscar Peterson is the GOAT of pianists.
His playing in Overtime is transcendent. I can watch it over and over. Looking forward to digging deeper into his work. Wonderful interview!

I’m sorry David and Paul, but I think I fell in love with another Australian 😁! Rai is such a fascinating person. A swashbuckling rogue, a gypsy, and a minstrel all while being Uber talented and a cool genius! I love his answer to a “A & R” man. Aeroplanes and Restaurants!, 😂. Unimaginably talented dude, when you take into account every single thing you mentioned before Thirsty Merc THEN take the sheer ubiquity and success of In The Summertime into account, THEN watch the video of the lecture he did on the writing process to it on here somewhere (& the keyboard step-downs of the chord changes in it's draughting) and it's like, holy shit this guy has a remarkable ear
