This song has a sense of urgency that is long lost in her music and vocals. It would have been perfect as a duet with Sting. It almost sounds like a Sting production from around the same era. Every once in a while I am reminded of why I loved Madonna so much. Almost like with a long gone lover, you get to see them in a new light after a breakup. You have seen the demons and might be sad about the breakup but you know it is better not to face their demons any longer. Madonna deserved so much more than the last horrific 5 albums! It feels deeply warm and satisfying to listen to her old music and extremely triggering to listen to her “new” material. Very sad artistic development. Hatd to see her scavenging through her own leftovers and dismantle her own iconic legacy.
I always expect to find an extremely stupid comment like yours under any song from Madonna's Ray of Light era. Happy to be proven right. I guess there are way too many idiots who could never move on - if these people actually open their minds, even if just a little bit and stop being so damn stupidly dogmatic, they would find tons of splendid post-1998 Madonna songs - "Easy Ride", "Looking for Mercy", "Extreme Occident", "Falling Free", "Forbidden Love" (2005), "Inside Out", "Ghosttown", "I Deserve It" - but then I guess they are just too damn f**cking extremely absolutely stupid to see anything beyond Ray of Light. The idiotic brains just simply refuse to function.
