I am so pleased with that interview, remember the General as a young lad when I used to take him on the big wheel at the Christmas canival aon Caroline bay Timaru. and the fewtimes I have met him since then he has always recognised me and greeted me with love and respect, he is very humble!
My Generalin all my congratulations. We (myself and my little family, William Booth’s friends) prayed a lot for you and we trusted in your experience, your righteousness. You are the new captain of our boat, many of the southern territories ( africa ) especially the Congo-Brazzaville expect from your pragmatism. The mission has always been hard, but we believe in you and your faith. May God bless you, fill you with wisdom and health. To you and your family!
God bless you General-elect and your wife and long suffering family. I hope you get home to see them before you start your new job. My husband and I are soldiers at Dublin city corps but because we live in Co Galway we didn't make it to Belfast to see you at Easter. Major Mark Waghorn knows that I have had a dream of increasing our presence here by having an open air in O'Connell Street, with a band well last night my dream was added to with my seeing you at the front of the march and all flags waving! I hope Mark won't think I am being too forward but I just had to ask if you would come to Ireland's capital and show that we still have a mission to serve here. God bless your ministry and all that will be blessed by you and your wife. Truly God's people, appointed by Him.
“Coming to Jesus without expectation but willing to serve…” beautiful. Thank you for seeing through the eyes of Jesus, thank you for seeing who God loves, thank you for reaching out to those who are invisible and making them visible … It is one thing to tell someone, “Jesus loves you …” and quite something else to follow up with “…and here is food, clothing and shelter.” I am so grateful that you are willing to see Jesus in the face of the servants and those served. I am praying that the Lord will direct your steps, give you wisdom, and keep your eyes and ears always open to the cries and the joys of His children. Bless you and your family.
May the Lord richly bless you and you wife as you take up this God given role. You have been and will be mentioned and prayed for every day by us. Retired Officers Mary and Robert Johnson
