4:29:55 yeah like this moment, i never saw the bird taking a sh*t and i watched this show at least 5 times 😂 but after rewatching one or two times i saw many funny or foreshadowing moments, so i know what you mean. now all i habe left are jokes that went ober my head (probably because i have only watched this show in english once and my native languague didn't translate the jokes too well)
I can't imagine how much time and effort went into making this compilation. Thank you so much. So much better than just Book 3. This show and your reactions are the best.
My favorite fan theory is that the reason Toph is portrayed as a giant man in the play in S3 is because the people she fought and beat were too embarrassed to admit it was a little girl that beat them
4:45:39 fun(?) fact. The reason the fire nation focused so hard on wiping out the southern water benders while leaving the north basically untouched is because the avatar cycle actually takes into account if the last water bending avatar was born in the north or the south. So the fire nation knew that’s where the next avatar would pop up if aang died without them ever finding him
Another fun(?) fact hama is indirectly the reason why kataras mom was killed seeing how she blood bend the guards when they came back to the south they knew that place to be one that could birth water-benders powerful enough to blood bend and since they didn’t want a repeat of hama they didn’t take prisoners instead just killed them.
lmao, where did you get that from? the avatar cycle is way older than the tribes, and in legend of korra the white lotus wasn't looking only in the south pole
@@douley204boomin3Feels silly since Korra outright refutes this and the original series implies that the North was simply too powerful to wipe out efficiently. Either way the theory doesn't really seem supported.
4:24:35 don't mind me, I'm just crying uncontrollably because Toph didn't miss a beat when she met Korra. She knew that was her friend always and forever and treated her the same exact way she treated Aang. She got the answer to her question and it only took 60yrs 😭
Knowing that Iroh's son was actually modeled after a young Mako (the voice actor) makes the real world blend into the series world, which is rough. However, knowing that Mako never got to see the completed version of "Leaves From the Vine" which was in tribute to him in every way just absolutely rips me to shreds. It's such a moving sequence.

Exceptionally cool detail I noticed on this rewatch of avatar the last airbender: Do you remember how Jong Jong teaches Aang firebending and worries about being too destructive with his fire burning everything down? Notice when the White Lotus are attacking Ba Sing Se, Jong Jong has those huge fire columns powered by the comet? The ones he launches down large streets packed with fire nation tanks? HE'S BEING MINDFUL OF HOW EASILY HIS COMET POWERED FIRE BENDING COULD BURN DOWN THE CITY AND THE CIVILIAN BUILDINGS. HIS FIGHTING STYLE IS CONSISTENT WITH HIS CONCERN ABOUT HIS "BURNING CURSE". IT'S NOT JUST MEERLY AN AMAZING SHOW OF FIRE BENDING BUT A DELICATE, SURGICAL USE OF HIS FIRE TO BOTH BLOCK INCOMING FIRE VERTICALLY AND MINIMIZE DAMAGE TO THE SURROUNDINGS BY NOT LETTING HIS FIRE BURN THE BUILDING LINING THE STREET OMGGGGG the attention to detail and the love of these characters is so apparent i love this show ❤❤
During the Blood Bending episode, you guys touched upon how benders can have other materials, like water/blood eatch/metal. The other thing I drew fromt his episode was the variance in style between different bending types. Normally water benders are very flowy and smooth with their bending style, but after Katara has spent enough time with Toph, she picked up inspiration from the earth bending style and it is shown when she fights the old blood bending woman, instead of diverting the water attack, she holds her ground and stops the attack right in its tracks, which is very earth style. I think material aside, there are ways to manipluate the styling of other types of bending to use with your own.
out of the 10763520 times of me watching ATLA, I never once thought "I could only imagine how hot fire benders' fever would be like... like damn, hes 478º"
Thats what i love about watching reactors. theres always the same hilarious responses like at the end when aang talks to kyoshi, they say "kill that bitch" or the emotional Zuko/Iroh moments which are universal. But whats better are the many different ways people interpret or view aspects like the bending. Its almost my preferred method of watching, just like Lord of the Rings.
6:28:11 Ruff. My guy. We need to talk. Not only did internet shipping wars exist back in 2005, the Zutara vs. Kataang war was the stuff of _legends,_ even by today's standards. Everything ends with this feeling of loss.
I love how confused yall get and i love when you get told or shown something one episode, a few next your like "wow what was that", yalls memory is so funny to me
It's never revealed in the show, but in the comics that take place between ATLA and TLOK it is revealed that Ursa Zuko's mom did kill the Fire Lord and was then banished so that Zuko would be safe.
"i think her dad is a waterbender" "i was counting sokka as a waterbender" katara's entire character arc of reconnecting with her culture because she was the only waterbender in her entire tribe for two generations (including hama's entire episode): "am i a joke to you" (love the video, guys :) watched the entire thing!)
6:35:54 Thing is, Yangchen and Aang are about 400 years removed from each other and she was from a time where Air Nomad culture was thriving. She wasn’t in the position of being the sole air nomad left alive to ensure that culture lived on. Aang has to do so and only having lived through any rites, rituals, just… everything up to 12 years old. He’s lucky enough to be able to recreate the ceremony of becoming an airbending master from personal experience just because he happened to become the youngest master in history at that point. There’s so much he won’t be able to be taught or guided through by those who came before him because now he’s the only one left to pick up the pieces. To kill the Fire Lord as the only one left to uphold what it means to be an Air Nomad is, I think in his mind, basically akin to letting the genocide of his people and their ways be competed. It would completely defeat everything Aang stands for as an Air Nomad and a person. Killing Ozai is the smart thing, but it’s not the only answer. It’s debatable if it’s not the right thing to do specifically for Aang even because of how directly affected the world of Avatar is by spiritual turmoil. Anyone else killing Ozai… I wouldn’t be mad for sure. But Aang wanting to find a way to defeat him without killing him? 100% on board with that. It also seems like rather than speaking objectively from their experiences well… in the end the Avatars are human. For all their talk of seeing the bigger picture and duties to the world, the things they tell Aang are based on their regrets and not from the objective truth of the world they lived in. They were still people who made choices and those choices will always be informed first and foremost by themselves as individuals. Aang, funny enough, knows his duty is to the world but also doesn’t want to compromise or put away himself as an individual. Instead, he chooses the harder to find path to his solution.
One of my favorite details is that the first episode of the show is called the boy in the iceberg and the last is called avatar aang showing how he has developed as a character though out the show
You can tell how amazing this show is with how each section gets bigger than the last, second season being even better than season one. And third season going even harder.
7:01:52 "this is legit one of the best shows I ever watched" Something that 90% of an generation can relate to. AtlA had phenomenal writing, music, and charakters that stood out. Especially in a time where all Heros were eighter dark and Edgy Antiheros like Sasuke or Alucard, or goofy 'I wanna be the very best' archetypse like Luffy or Naruto, a Hero like Aang - who in the beginning wants nothing more than to be a kid his age but is burdened by the responcebillaty of his power and slowly learns to be the Avatar that the world needs, was just perfect. Plus Iroh and Zuko - I can't descripe the feels man. Everybody deserves an Uncle Iroh in his life.
I remember watching the bloodbending episode with Katara's revenge and my mom came into the room. She only caught a part of the episode and demanded to know what it was rated. This came from a woman who saw cartoons as a kid thing and it was intense enough to make her think it wasn't a kid show on nickelodeon.
1:48:43 Good news, Boom, you've mentioned you like to read, and they have Kyoshi books-The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi-both of which are excellent!
3:00:30 Being a kids show they couldn’t show anything more than this but even as a kid I knew what had happened. Toph’s “He’s lying” gave me everything I needed to know.
The wildest thing about Zuko Alone is that if he was just like "Fine, you got me, I can bend fire, so what", he probably would've been fine. If he'd said that he was a drifter who was ethnically Fire Nation but not acting on their behalf, everyone probably would've let it go.
I had the same thought. I've also been dropping comments about his SpongeBob videos. It would be really fun to see them reacting to his crazy ass videos.
@@mastokbreedtbg1398 I totally agree! It's mind blowing how much research he puts in, and the way he can reframe the entire series and then back it up with examples until you almost believe that was really what the writer had in mind. The man is an absolute genius!
Inherently, Avatars are people of balance. They inherit the Avatar spirit, that also somewhat forms them to be the bridge between worlds, and balancer of the elements! So for as fun as an Avatar being a tyrant would be, haha, they naturally do not go that route ^^
4:18 fun fact: avatar yangchen (the last airbender avatar before aang) actually had the ability to take the air out of someones lungs which is kinda scary that a master airbender can just insta kill
That opening with the goofy twist on the Captain Planet summoning ritual is a hundred and forty-twelve percent something my friends and I would do. I approve.
6:41:40 funfact: the woman who hold a Cherry boul is the same dubbing actress as azula so a lot of fans believe that this girl is creation of azula brain and that's why other womens had confused face. It is showing that azula isn't believing even herself Btw sorry for my english i am not very fluent.
I love that you guys have done this show, and that you got so invested in it all. My favourite fan theory is that in the earth kingdom, Zuko's scar marks him as an enemy of the fire nation and somewhat disguises him, especially combined with his sword skill. It makes many people more likely to help or not bother him, and even in Ba Sing Se the guards are more likely to see him as a former soldier or injured refugee than a potential firebender which helped in the tea shop situation.
The death of irohs son was his reason for becoming a good person… before that he wasn’t like… a mean guy… but he was corrupt… like he put his honor to his nation above his own morals, so he did a lot of evil stuff to please his nation… but when his son sacrificed his life for that “honor” he realized maybe honor to his nation wasn’t that important
This is my favorite show of all time and I’ve seen it so many times. I still find new things ever rewatch, even while enjoying y’all’s reactions. It is such a perfect show
I feel like Azula’s downfall started when she thought her dad didn’t want Zuko joining the war meeting. Then she miscalculated Sokka for rescuing Zuki other than Mei’s part.
4:44:44, you speak of what is possible with air, think back to when they found monk Gietso in that tent along with him was entire platoon of soldiers, if you can force air into a dense form for combat, couldn't also mean you can completely remove the air with an area, making firebending impossible and immediate suffocation.
I’m gonna take this opportunity to recommend two shows that keep the spirit of Avatar very much alive, The Dragon Prince and Lego’s Monkie Kid, both of which feature Jack DeSena, AKA Sokka, as the main character.
Unfortunately i don't know the name of the comic but there was a comic that came out after the show that tells the tale of what happens after zuko asks about what happened to his mother if you want to read it to get the closure
Aw man I love this cartoon series! I’ve watched it so many times! My favorite characters are Toph (because she just didn’t give a f**k and invented metal bending), Uncle Iroh (because of his wisdom and chill mood and neutrality most of the time except when he had to turn up), Bumi (because he was just fun), Sokka (because he was just goofy but strategic) and of course Aang. I love how Aang and Zuko became besties. Aang was a pure soul and learned quickly but also believed in his teachings from his former masters and Avatars to remain that way. He was all for defending himself and others but not for taking life. As usual he found a way to defeat the fire lord without killing him. Yeah this definitely reminds me of One Piece and Naruto.
Don’t y’all remember the giant panda monster attacking the village in season one? The wong shi tong, the owl spirit of knowledge on the library in season two… Or the painted lady spirit thanking katara in season three? The spirits can cross between the spirit world and the mortal world at will… especially when they had a vendetta… and the face stealer was very angry at the avatar
It really says a lot how in the editing for watching the earlier episodes they were cutting out most of the episodes' runtime but by the 3rd season the 3 of them are just locked in and the editing is showing their reactions to everything. This show is absolutely goated!
Season 3 was my absolute favorite of *Avatar: The Last Airbender.* Two simultaneous fights between Azula vs Zuko and Phoenix King Ozai vs Avatar Aang was phenomenal.
My absolute favorite part of Zuko's development in the show has to be seeing him use other bending style moves with his Firebending, like when he fights Azula in Ba Sing Se, he uses the water wall Katara used against him in the North Pole, and he uses various other techniques like the octopus, Aang's air defense, an Earthbending stance in the Final Agni Kai and such, it's so cool to see him utilize Iroh's teachings
it's always great to watch Avatar but to watch it here for a full 7 hours was great can't wait to see the "We react to EVERY Episode of Legend of Korra" if you guys are doing it anyways. Also it really shows how you guys have improved from the First Episode to the last
You guys should watch the "How To Train Your Dragon" series. It might be confusing to binge. Since season 1 is called "Dragon: Riders of Berk", and season 2 is called "Dragons: Defenders of Berk". Then seasons 3 - 8 are called "Dragons: Race to the Edge". The entire show is split between multiple different streaming platforms as well. It's a hassle.
Watched it all! Best 7 hour commitment i've made in a while hahaha. I loved your guy's reactions and I agree, this is one of the best series of all time. For me though, it's not just the writing, actors/actresses, and budget, but the worldbuilding. To come up with the idea of their being 4 elements that each have multiple sub-elements and each fighting style for all the different elements are based off of different martial arts, plus the clothing and culture for each country, the idea of the Avatar and how it works. To me, this feels like a group of DnD nerds came together to all play as the Dungeon Master (DM) and built their ideas off of each other. All the different animals combinations is also incredible! This show, is just perfect. At first, I didn't like Legend of Korra (the next show), but after a while it grew on me. Not many reaction channels enjoy the show, but there are a few that understand what the idea for the show was and enjoy it once they realize that, which I think you guys will be like that too. Without spoilers, it is focused on an industrialized version of ATLA and each season is focused on a different attribute the Avatar has to focus on, rather than a different element to learn. The show deals with depression, PTSD, fear, overcoming internal weakness, feminism, LGBTQ+, and other topics. Which is good for a teenage (high school/college) viewing. ATLA is amazing because little kids could watch it (maybe skip a few episodes), teenagers, yound adults, adults, elderly, every age group can watch this show and see it from a different perspective. I do not think Legend of Korra is like that, but it is still really good and you should definitely check it out.
Watched this show through dozens of times still seeing new things every time so I’ve known how zuko and aangs life’s are yin and Yang parallel but I just realized when zuko gets struck by lightning trying to save katara he has a lightning scar on his stomach right where aang has one on his back wow I can’t believe I’ve never seen that
my fave szn is szn2 bc i LOVE that they gave them the biggest challenges of the entire show. for example: removing APPA?!?!!?! not only did that display how much of an asset he was to the team, but also how important he was to Aang-which grew him up a lil bit. his entire demeanor changed, and the more stubborn and pissed off he got, the more gnarly his earthbending became! 🤣 the 2nd biggest reason i love szn 2 is because of azula. consider the fact that she single-handedly dismantled & couped a military regime 😭 and conquered a previously unconquerable (FOR A FUCKIN CENTURY) city within the time frame of THIS SEASON-what’s that, like, two months??? 😭 the 1st biggest reason is because toph is indeed the greatest earthbender of all time. she inVENTed a bending style. huh????

The wildest thing about Zuko Alone is that if he was just like "Fine, you got me, I can bend fire, so what", he probably would've been fine. If he'd said that he was a drifter who was ethnically Fire Nation but not acting on their behalf, everyone probably would've let it go.
Ok so now you've done the story, you need to watch the Cabbage man theory video
I had the same thought. I've also been dropping comments about his SpongeBob videos. It would be really fun to see them reacting to his crazy ass videos.
@@blindseer4795 Yeah for sure. His theories are awesome
My toxic trait is actually how much of thiss how I can quote word for word
4:18 fun fact: avatar yangchen (the last airbender avatar before aang) actually had the ability to take the air out of someones lungs which is kinda scary that a master airbender can just insta kill
Peak earthbending = metalbending, peak fire bending = lightningbending, peak waterbending = bloodbending, peak air bending = flight
Ah nice just 1 short video
Ive wanted this for ages. Thank you guys sooooo much
@@andrewvaldez8866 I'll be getting on that faster then anything
There are never dry eyes in the "Tales of ..." episode. It's the Iroh one for me. Gets me every time.
It is showing that azula isn't believing even herself
Btw sorry for my english i am not very fluent.
I love that you guys have done this show, and that you got so invested in it all.
My favourite fan theory is that in the earth kingdom, Zuko's scar marks him as an enemy of the fire nation and somewhat disguises him, especially combined with his sword skill. It makes many people more likely to help or not bother him, and even in Ba Sing Se the guards are more likely to see him as a former soldier or injured refugee than a potential firebender which helped in the tea shop situation.
would love to see a “we binged korra” series next boys🙏
This is the first reaction I’ve seen where there’s no huge freak out at the reveal that Zuko is Roku’s great grandson
Can we get a counter for "Yo!", "Bro!", and "Let's go!"? If you made a drinking game out of any of them, you would be dead before season one ended 😂
How much time was put into making this entire video holy shit
It took a long time and was very expensive lol
@@sortastupid how would it have been expensive, isn’t it free on Netflix
It’s not watching the show; it’s making the video and paying editors for UA-cam
its a forbidden technique for air bending but they can take the air out of the someone's lungs and turn that air into a vacuum chamber
Yea they do this in legend of korra it’s super terrifying watching it and unnerving like bloodbending
You have now become my favorite reaction group due to this 7 hour long ATLA I love this!!
I’m gonna take this opportunity to recommend two shows that keep the spirit of Avatar very much alive, The Dragon Prince and Lego’s Monkie Kid, both of which feature Jack DeSena, AKA Sokka, as the main character.
at 2:28:23 play the video at 0.25 speed and you'll actually see a cabbage slug flying through
Unfortunately i don't know the name of the comic but there was a comic that came out after the show that tells the tale of what happens after zuko asks about what happened to his mother if you want to read it to get the closure
Best episode of season one for me was “The Storm”. It’s iconic at this point. Masterclass in how you tell a back story and show depth for characters.
No one better to have a fire bending scar than a fire bender.
Bc it backed fired !!
Lol
Alex Bale has a video about the cabbage guy that will forever change the way you look at this show, and Legend of Korra.
“Apparently we predicted metal bending”😂😂😂
15:01 to be fair he just woke up from an 100 year nap id be tired to
i was gonna sleep but this is much better
Cutie
Always a good time to rewatch atla again
"Sokka almost piped a water spirit?"
Sokka is the last assbender
It's backbender Billy
It really says a lot how in the editing for watching the earlier episodes they were cutting out most of the episodes' runtime but by the 3rd season the 3 of them are just locked in and the editing is showing their reactions to everything.
This show is absolutely goated!
Season 3 was my absolute favorite of *Avatar: The Last Airbender.* Two simultaneous fights between Azula vs Zuko and Phoenix King Ozai vs Avatar Aang was phenomenal.
I watched this show for the first time with y'all during the Fortnite collaboration with Avatar. Time to watch it again. 💜
I remember watching in 05
Fixing to watch Korra for the first time with y'all sometime this week. 💜
OMG at 52:24 when y’all learn that Zuko is the blue spirit is amazing, such a great reaction!!!
Lol kinda ironic that I rewatched all your Avatar reactions over the last couple days
What can airbenders do?
Zaheer enters the chat
My absolute favorite part of Zuko's development in the show has to be seeing him use other bending style moves with his Firebending, like when he fights Azula in Ba Sing Se, he uses the water wall Katara used against him in the North Pole, and he uses various other techniques like the octopus, Aang's air defense, an Earthbending stance in the Final Agni Kai and such, it's so cool to see him utilize Iroh's teachings
A throwback is different from a repeat! THIS ISN’t a REPEAT‼️😂
Now I have something to listen to at work tomorrow 😭😭😭
The timeless GOAT itself, all in one video to binge
Props
it's always great to watch Avatar but to watch it here for a full 7 hours was great can't wait to see the "We react to EVERY Episode of Legend of Korra" if you guys are doing it anyways.
Watched this show through dozens of times still seeing new things every time so I’ve known how zuko and aangs life’s are yin and Yang parallel but I just realized when zuko gets struck by lightning trying to save katara he has a lightning scar on his stomach right where aang has one on his back wow I can’t believe I’ve never seen that
Episode two in book 3 was essentially Footloose in a 23-minute window
Ok you guys gotta include like some kind of time control device next time so I can just have 7 straight hours ready 🤣
7 hours of footage. We ain't sleeping with this one. 🍿
world building of one piece + choreography of naruto + character design of bleach = avatar the last airbender
4:24:32 omg the legend of Korra foreshadowing ❤❤
Also highly recommend reacting to True Grit 2010. There’s so few reactions to it and it’s truly a masterpiece. I know you guys would love it.
FYI in case no one mentioned it Mark Hamill is the voice actor for fire lord ozai.
my fave szn is szn2 bc i LOVE that they gave them the biggest challenges of the entire show. for example: removing APPA?!?!!?! not only did that display how much of an asset he was to the team, but also how important he was to Aang-which grew him up a lil bit. his entire demeanor changed, and the more stubborn and pissed off he got, the more gnarly his earthbending became! 🤣
the 2nd biggest reason i love szn 2 is because of azula. consider the fact that she single-handedly dismantled & couped a military regime 😭 and conquered a previously unconquerable (FOR A FUCKIN CENTURY) city within the time frame of THIS SEASON-what’s that, like, two months??? 😭
the 1st biggest reason is because toph is indeed the greatest earthbender of all time. she inVENTed a bending style. huh????
7:01:30 My Favorite Moment
“It’s like a platypus buffalo!”
Wrong animal hybrid, but okay lol
Watching them lose their minds watching Zukos ups and downs made me remember when i was young dealing with the same inner term oil 😂
1:09:15 "this man has no game" sokka:hold my bear
thank you so much, loved rewatching it with you guys
Thanks for giving me something to watch for my entire 8 hour shift
yall ever notice that mei and tai lee look at each other when azula is talking about how you cant trust the people closest to you 3:07:30
